Another huge tip for any newcomers to FE. The "Trade" command is extremely useful because it allows you to not only swap items between units but also change what weapon is currently equipped on another unit. So if you can get a kill with a unit using a 1 range weapon but its leaving them in range of attack by an enemy with a 2 range weapon, you can have another unit move adjacent to them, select "Trade" with them and move their 2 range weapon into the top slot of their own inventory (no items are actually being swapped between the units). That'll equip the 2 range weapon and allow them to counter during enemy phase and it can make a huge difference in making an enemy unit damaged enough to kill easily in the next player phase without counter. It's been a useful, and rarely explained, trick in almost every FE game.
It's amazing how much depth they managed to add in the customization of this game. Easily the best class system in the series.

I think Fates still has the best class system. It helped characterize each unit, partner seals where niche but cool, and armor knights got to actually accomplish late game feats.

Yeah it's a gacha system, but I like how it's really NOT necessary. Also, it's WAY better to get a lucky pull and get a gold or S tier ring, because it might end up costing less than trying to meld them up in rarity
I was thinking the exact same thing last night weapons with versatility.. I was excited when they gave me that big chunk of money.. Spent it all really quick!
So far the game feels a little more like Awakening than Three Houses..
You will not get this fun, and depth from the other guys. Maybe from a PC game which you need an encyclopedia to understand but this is amazing. This should help anyone who maybe have issues. Once you get the rhythm and flow of the game you see the progress and you keep getting stronger! I love it!
FE, FF and the persona franchises are the only main fan groups that are rpg and if you go in with a open mind you will be like handed an encylopedia and if you want it some may read the whole thing to ya 🤣
@@MJSGamingSanctuary not really. The games are simple to understand. Depending on which FE game you get there is can be a lot of text like in FE 3 Houses. All Persona games are text and dialogue heavy which is why I don’t favor them much.

Thank you for the guides. This is better than channel that comparing game characters design. I hate those channels. We keep playing the game because we are gamers and help each other out.
So I had no idea what I was doing. I created like 20 bond rings and went to find ways to equip them as clothing item rather than an actual ring under "Emblem Rings" haha my bad. Thanks for clearing it up!
Fire Emblem Engage is my first FIre Emblem and after watching this video I want to go back into my game and check my inventory, units, etc before going into the next battle. Also thanks for explaining the rings I found this video very helpful.

I'm on chapter 6 and haven't used any inherited skills yet. My roadblock is I go back and forth on whether I want to spend SP now to get Avoid+10 or to save longterm for Avoid+20. I don't want to grind too much and don't know how readily SP comes down the line. Being able to see all the bond skills from the getgo is both a blessing and curse. XD

That's the problem with Fire Emblem! They have so many cool characters but you can't use them all :'(
It's typically 12 to 15.

It's not a bad game im enjoying it. Has a lot of game play things I've been impressed by that. But I hate the meh social part. makes me lower the score a bit. I started on awakening and well fates was meh but yea I kinda expected more on that part.

I wouldnt recomend making them past having 5 or so in the inventory. Once you get all the emblem rings your active party wont use the bond rings
Yeah. Some a great early because not everyone has rings. You want everyone to have rings to get sp though.

This should be called “Video Game Idiot Tips: Press Buttons, Read Tutorials & Two Other Things”
Wish I would have paid more attention or watched one of these videos before I got so far I’m 30 hours in and I didn’t really realize you needed to inherit emblems skills for the purpose of characters changing classes and I’m at the point where I missed that chance if you kno what I mean and I picked like the worst characters to build so I tried to switch characters and at this point I just feel like I’m under preforming and I’m ready to restart lol
I also stopped feeding sommie and stoped doing the side activities for a short time and ran out of everything 😅 didn’t do bond rings either
@@trevionwright8672 bond rings are nessarily good. It allows you some extra options but having your full party with emblems is better.

I need to know how to get sp. I feel like it's really slow and honestly idk how to even earn them.
You gain sp by equiping an emblem ring. I believe you earn more while the emblem is activated.
Get rings on your characters cant gain if there is no ring bond rings work so you can get some bond rings. You can use Micaiahs great sacrifice to farm sp as well.

I’m in chapter 10 - changing classes seems not possible yet - I am guessing the items necessary will come later in the game? Thanks!
You should have 3 or 4 master seals by then, which is the item needed to change classes.
As to how you do that, they never really explained it and hid it in a sub-menu.
What you wanna do is go to "inventory" and then press A on a character. In that smaller menu, at the bottom is a "change class" option.
There's an item for it.

@@OsvaldvVanStein I know the item shop periodically stocks them. I'm only at chapter 13ish and i've seen like 2 master seals being sold and 3-4 second seals. They cost few thousand coin each. I'm sure they will uncap the amount further into the game, but take a look might be some available.

I have so much to say.
Don't bother with bond rings over much. 1000 bond shards can be used to increase bonds with real Emblems, and is much better spent on that.
Don't ignore Vander, he is INSTRUMENTAL for the early, give him Sigurd's ring for the early game and watch your options open up.
Don't ever side seal until after promotion; promote early, even level 10 is fine, gaining access to triangle control is more important than a few extra levels. Side Sealing
before promotion will reset you to lvl1 and make things a lot harder for you.
Fliers are still the best, they can run rough shot over most maps, with custom triangle control, and lords bring theyre good stats to the wyvern knight class.
USE Clanne. He gives himself and Alear +10 hit for the early game and can later promote/side into Mage Knight, and become a massive benefit for your
army.

@@boeserKadser from what I have heard none. I wanted to know if there was talk about it getting added later. Cause loved Maddening but the zero grinding skirmishes had me drop down to hard.

@@alextorres5467 I don’t believe you get any at maddening. There is one at chapter 12 that is triggered. I have read none other happen, so I dropped to hard. As my characters were getting soo little exp I was 3 levels below where they game was saying I should be.
