It looks like a remarkable, fascinating production of an opera that continues to hold up to every treatment I've seen of it. The cast, crew and,most of all, the audience appear to have believed in it, and THAT is what Britten would have wanted: a an artistic success. I very much doubt he'd have even imagined anything like this, so, ultimately we can't know what he'd think. Right now he's still dead so isn't thinking anything. Bravo to the entire company!
It looks a little bit perverse for the first look (many of people around were gays and director is a little bit kinky and his way of understanding to this opera is really crazy) but finally alltogether was ok and even I did not believe it will be good performance I started to love it and now it is my favourite opera ever! I work for State opera Prague and invited many people for this performance and everybody loved it which is really rare now because modern style of performing here is really crooked. I am sure if you will have chance to watch it in live you will change your opinion, like I did :)

Christ, this looks awful. This kind of overdone camp was exactly what Britten loathed.
