  • Finally! First quick test run and GPS speed test of the Tamiya TT-02B Project! Let's see how it actually performs ... and if the high speed gear set and the heavy aluminum has affected the top speed. Lot's of expensive upgrades but still the stock torque tuned motor!
    Now I am finally ready to start testing the top speed and performance of different gear ratios, gears, ESC's and motors. Subscribe to follow along. More thoughts, info and specifications below!

    Well! I'm happy! Everything seems to work perfect and it actually feels very very different from the TT-02B entry-level and stock set up that I started up with in the spring this year. So now I actually got the TT-02B Speed Test car that I wanted - and I'm ready to test gears, gear ratios and motors! Six months later, the summer is gone now, but better late than never. I have enjoyed the process.

    Ahh, congratulations on a successful first run! No mishaps of breakages, good start to the fun, Mikael. And she looks so good running up and down at a slightly faster pace. Things can only get faster from here on in! Have a smashing Sunday, mate! :O)

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  2 года назад +2

      Thank you, Mark! Yes, runs smoother and the small gear ratio change sparked it up a bit when it comes to top speed. Still accelerates fine too. That will probably change once I start gearing it up 😅 Have a great Sunday too my mate.

    All the blue parts looks really good with the silver body, runs good to.

      Thanks, Mattias! Yeah, I am happy. The blue decals helps too with the blue parts. Could be cool with a blue body too in the future.

    She looks great my brother, 3mph faster but all those hop ups add weight so there is a trade off. As Mark said, it can only get faster from here. Great Video as always, stay safe & stay healthy!!!!

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  2 года назад +1

      Thank you, Bob! Yeah, not much of a difference in top speed compared to 4 teeth of difference in gear ratio but there is definitely more weight now too. And yes, can only get faster now (apart from the 27T standard silver can I will try out too).

    Good lord! That car is something only its mother could love, in terms of its general countenance. It’s definitely got more than a hint of English Bulldog to it, what with the long, chubby snout.

    Looks very nice my friend, sleek and strong!
    It’ll be very interesting to see what the varied motor changes bring and how it affects the car!
    Kudos to a job well done Mikael!👍😊

    Hi Mikael. It looks and sounds very nice. I really like the new wheels and tyres, and they look perfect for this type of run. 🙂👍

      Hi Derek! Yeah, it feels really good and strong and smooth now. And yeah, the Louise tires are great for medium fast speed tests. Once they get over 60 kph or something they start ballooning though. Not really build for fast speed tests. So if I ever get this above 60 kph I will get some belted tires or foam. But the Louise are really great for the every-day street run.

    Hiya Mikael. Very nice my friend. I'm sure that you can have a lot of nerdy fun with gear ratios on this. Glad it's running well with the much upgraded set-up. I'm sure you'll agree that a lot of those bits didn't do much for the performance but they look cool. Best wishes mate 😃

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  2 года назад

      Hiya Pete! Yeah, for this type of on road run with this type of speed they do nothing at all (well, except for adding weight and coolness). Once it gets up in speed some of the upgrades (ball bearings, shafts, servo etc) will improve durability and stability … and some upgrades (rigid towers, turn buckles etc) will have an effect on performance/stability … At least theoretically. And of course compared to the price all these minor improvements is of course senseless on a TT 😅😀 I think my DB-02 runs better stock than this upgraded TT-02B 😅 But I like it … Best wishes my mate.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  2 года назад +1

      Thank you my friend! This one runs straight once it is dialed in. Maybe the servo and steering upgrade helped. But then again - if it runs straight with a faster motor in the future we will have to find out 😊

    That was cool! Just like with Mark's and Rob's videos, I felt I needed to guess at that second speed test, I guessed 35, so fairly close, ha ha!
    Your Dualridge looks great with all the matching blue alloy, it's quite a lot (of money) you put into it...
    You still got some lovely dry Danish days left, you got more coming this year or do we need to wait to 2022?
    (I just ended my buggy season yesterday, it's autumn here in Finland now)

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  2 года назад +1

      Thank you, Mads! Ahh, you came very very close! :-) And yeah, too much money, but it was fun, and now I have the DF-02 I always wished for .. in my TT--02B :-) I get carried away with my DF-02's, DF-03's, DT-02's, DT-03's and now the TT-02B. Ahhhh, we had a couple of days in Denmark with fairly good weather recently. But now it's rainy and stormy once again :-) Wish I was hiking in Lapland/Northern Finland right now. So beautiful up there in the autumn I remember from my younger days.

    • @madsrcbuggy
      @madsrcbuggy 2 года назад

      That's right, the autumn here is lovely, but now it's raining, so can't really enjoy it much...
      Yeah, I also wanted to upgrade my DF-03, but it's actually perfect as it is, so I'll just continue with the DualRidge... Or maybe start some stupid Top Force project...
      And I see the girls are liking your videos, lots of comments, ha ha!

    Don’t know if my dual ridge can handle the power of the 22T pinion on the brushless radiant reactor motor and matching esp,it’s quite uncontrollable to be honest and I don’t think the stock gear boxes will hold out much longer.Everything good 1 1/2 years running but don’t want to look in there,I know it’s going to be black goo inside.Anybody got any good ideas for a gearbox or spur conversion,I was thinking aluminium or some alloy alternative but I’ve been told that this can make for a messier gearbox soup.Some tips from you guys would be appreciated,also better handling because I’ve got used to her but others don’t want to touch her because she’s wild and likes to do ballerina twirls on one back wheel if you don’t build the speed up first,which makes racing starts very 50/50.Thanks guys👍🏻❤️

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Год назад +1

      Yeah, those gears aren’t bulletproof. Alloy is even worse than plastic. Better go with a steel pinion, plastic spur and the GPM Racing steel diff gears. That combo should last a while, although you might have to change the spur now and then.

  • @RobertSmith-op9mb
    @RobertSmith-op9mb Год назад

    Runs much better with the 22T pinion on the Radiant reactor brushless motor and ESP and al the blue ally kit that you used And 3s Li po disc wheels too.Unreal👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻
