Thank you Toyota guy, my dad has 2007 Tundra 4.7L 2UZ FE has almost 398k kms, I am doing maintenance on it it’s very easy and satisfying your videos are easy to follow.
@5:55, "I always admire the people who put the clamp... upside down...it's amazing, awesome!" hahaha love your demeanor! Your words echoed in my mind as I did the work and found the same thing. 2002 Toyota Tundra V8 4.7L. After changing the battery, truck would die at low idle. Found your video, did the throttle body bench-clean and it works like a champ! Thanks for the instruction. New subscriber :)
Great video I enjoy your clear video and description. I have a 2005 owned since 05 w/307,000 miles recently check engine light came on recommend oxygen sensor, mass air flow (replaced), throttle body, fuel pump intake plenum gasket or fuel filter. I replaced the plugs and mass air flow sensor. Light still on may replace the o2 sensors before going to the throttle. Thanks for sharing the video
I also have an 05 Sequoia. She IS a really cool lady. I have noticed that sometimes when I press the gas peddle, there is a hesitation of the vehicle accelerating. Sometimes I have to really press hard on the gas peddle and there is this vibraton I feel from the peddle to the steering wheel. I researched these symptoms and found out that it's probably a dirty throttle body and MAF sensor. After watching your videos, I believe I can clean them myself correctly and save a lot of money. I have already ordered the CRC cleaner for them both. Thank you for your videos. They are straight forward and I have subscrided to your channel.
EliteNK I cleaned the throttle body and replaced the MAS sensor. Changing the transmission fluid Wednesday and adding a small tube of pixie goo to see if it’s slippage down under! I’ll let you know what happens! Thanks for asking.
I just replaced the upstream and 02 sensor on bank 1 of my 06 sequoia and it drives without the VSC TRAC and CEL light but is still slightly a rough running suv. I am going to be doing this and the MAP sensor cleaning today. I just replace the cabin and air filter with oem ones. I am doing the bank 2 sensors this weekend as well. Thanks for all the amazing content!
Great Videos....just bought a 2002 Sequoia w/130K and will follow your directions to clean the MAF and throttle body. Keep up the great work....you explain very thoroughly and thoughtfully. A natural teacher!
Great channel man. I just found you on RUclips and have resolved to do one maintenance project a week on my 2007 tundra. I have already cleaned my mass air sensor and will tackle this video over the weekend. Keep up the good work.
Good, clear instructions in your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I plan on keeping my 03 Sequoia for a long time and appreciate videos like this on simple but important maintenance that anyone can do. New sub. Cheers
An honest update. Did this procedure on my 03 Sequoia and also cleaned the MAS from another one of your videos. Apart from mine having an extra coolant hose (3 instead of 2 attached to the throttle body) to take off, I followed this video to a T and it was a quick and simple procedure. Result? WOW. What a difference. After disconnecting the battery to let the system relearn, I couldn't believe the difference in the smoothness of acceleration and just generally a smoother running engine. I went one step further and dumped a can of Seafoam in my gas tank and bammm! Runs even better. Probably $30 in total for the MAS, throttle body cleaner and can of Seafoam and my Sequoia runs like I just spent $1,000 on engine work. Very happy subscriber : ) Thanks again
It's doesn't improve fuel milage, but it will feel smother, better smoother throttle response, transmission will feel in tune with how it shifts and how mush you press on the gas.
Great video. Do you ever crack coolant hoses when clamping them? Occasionally these hoses may surprise you when they have become embrittled. Perhaps better to partially drain the coolant system, or simply plug the ends after removal.
We cleaned mine SPRAYED TBCLEANER on a rag and wiped off the front only didn't take apart and do the back side.. we noticed the build up when was changing the thermostat. Now since then the engine light came on and its saying throttle body is stuck open p2111 engine code. We unplugged the tps and plugged back in used dialect grease. It was good for about 30 miles. All engine lights back on. And p2111 code again.Any ideas?
If some coolant spills out from the house, is that a big deal or should I not worry about it and just go ahead and put it all back together and I should be good
First off, thank you. I have cleaned the MAF sensor and the throttle body per your instructions with great success on my 05 Sequioa. I attempted to use the CRC intake valve cleaner through the throttle body or spraying it past the MAF sensor, but the engine will not start unless everything is connected. How would you recommend injecting the CRC intake valve cleaner? Is there another way to inject it? Never mind. I did it through the vaccum line.
I changed air filter, cleaned maf sensor with crc mass air flow cleaner, and cleaned throttle body with crc throttle body cleaner. Afterward having issue with truck, (2005 tundra 4.7L V8 ) cutting off while slowing down and breaking. Any suggestions? Still getting mass air flow code from autoxray code reader.
Love your videos I have a Toyota Sequoia 2001 limited 4WD 156 k miles. When I switch from Park to reverse, reverse to drive and Park to drive the truck jumps forward or back without touching the pedal or even if I’m on the break, clunk and jump, when driving around I think switches gear really good and no problems, only problem is that clunk noise and jump when I put it in reverse from park o reverse to drive or drive to reverse, could you please help me ? Appreciate your work
Good video. You’re good. Remember you’re dealing with Americans. Say it once, twice, three times and than thoroughly explain, after that if they want to take a hot bath with their throttle body maybe you’ll only be partially liable.
By the way, just did the maintenance, really helped out. Was filthy! Also loved the hot tub comment, but chose to use the same chemical you used (got lucky, was what I had purchased.)
I have a 2017 tundra sr5 w/ 5.7 L I am getting a musty / moldy smell when I turn on the a/c or heater. I’ve sprayed Lysol in the air intake below the windshield and replaced the cabin filter. Drain plug seems to drain. Never had any issues with other cars in my life till this one. What would you recommend?
Great Video, thank you - I have to ask, where are you from? Switzerland? I bought a 2006 Sequoia just recently, and will clean the TB according to your instructions. EDIT: You must be from Switzerland: "...'diss iss definitely one off 'de cleanerr waunes..':)
Hah - would have never guessed:) The upward inflection and the way you pronounce certain words sound very swiss-german:) Thanks for solving the mystery.

I had to stop watching when you made that remark since I was laughing and just had to go tell my wife.

Thank you for the easy to follow video. You saved me from a trip to the mechanic and a lot of money. My mechanic quoted me $265 for the cleaning.
Thank you so much for the detailed video! Cleaning the throttle body helped to resolve my engine stalling at idle issue. Keep up the good work!
I am having the same issue, what other pros did you notice when cleaning this?
A thorough video on the proper way to service the throttle body .... I appreciate your videos my friend.
Mechanic charged me to do this, my nephew could do this in his sleep. Thank you for the information!

Warren Feagins did that fix your hesitation? It hasn’t worked for me.
Same here please let me know what that is
@@THETRUTH-hg9mf That's what it was. Now if you do that and the problem remains, it's obviously something else. What else? I don't know.

nice, good job !
Did this today! Throttle body was caked in carbon deposits!
Good Job !
I have read that Sea Foam is ok the use on it to clean
Hello,
If I am unable to clamp the coolant hoses. Do I need to bleed air out of the cooling system after re-installing the throttle body?
