Im so glad you enjoyed Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries. It’s one of my favorite books of the year so far. One thing I don’t think you touched on is that she is HEAVILY autistic coded. That’s why she’s so detached and clinical and can’t figure out why the villagers didn’t like her and the Fairfolk are her special interest. But I also ate the book up. It definitely speaks to your inner pretentious selfishness.

@@sophies1999 rebecca Ross has a good lyrical writing style that’s not exactly like this but it’s still good. India Hilton has a new book out called the ornithologists guide to falling in love? I believe that’s what it’s called. But in her books most all have at least one neurodivergent character in it if not more and I’m pretty sure it’s the same way. Her writing style is more posh and pretentious but still entertaining. But if you like the vibe of Wendell and Emily ,howls moving castle by Dianna Wynne jones. Wendell and Emily are howlers and Sophie coded to a t.

Hi! I saw on one of your instagram stories that you were suspecting POTS as the cause of your symptoms. I have ME/CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) and a lot of the symptoms are similar to POTS. The symptoms can include: extreme exhaustion after physical or mental exercise, problems with memory/thinking skills, dizziness, excessive sleepiness, muscle or joint pain, headaches or sore throat, tender lymph nodes, accelerated heart rate, sensitivity to sound/smells/food/medicine and more. If you’re experiencing some of those symptoms I highly recommend bringing it up to your doctor!!
I hope you get some answers soon so you can take the next steps in learning how to best take care of yourself. The process of getting a diagnosis is so hard and discouraging, especially as a woman since our pain is often not taken seriously or believed. I believe you and it’s not all in your head. Wishing you the best of luck and remember to put yourself first!!

I’ll definitely have to check out Vicious!! I’m in the middle of reading The Reckoners series by Brandon Sanderson, which similarly has a world which revolves around superhuman villains. If that’s your jam, you should really give it a go because it’s seriously so good and immersive. It’s YA and not super intense in comparison to other media in its niche, but enjoyable nonetheless.

off topic but I'm in the middle of a book called "How to be Eaten" and I think you'd enjoy it! It's a loose fairy tale retelling in which the subjects of various fairy tales (e.g., Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, etc.) are in a collective support group. It's really interesting to see how the author reimagined their stories and the writing style is really good. plus, it's only 286 pages long

I've seen Emily Wilde’s recommended soooo many times, but your description was the one that really convinced me that I need to read it 😂

I recently read One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns and I absolutely loved both of them. Just fantastic vibes and exactly what I needed.
