- Pressure Washing Tennis Courts requires extensive knowledge, training, and professional equipment. A school attempted to clean it themselves two years prior to calling us to get the job done right! In this video, we help pressure washing professionals understand the ins and outs of this unique surface.

Great info as usual Doug, thank you
I shuddered to think that you were going to pressure wash that entire surface. I had no idea that flat surfaces could be soft washed. Tanks for the edification!!
Doug, you are the MAN! Thank you for the information
Love your videos man!! Thanks for sharing.
Adrian Prieto thanks for watching. Glad they help
Always learning Doug! Thank you!!!
Thank you . Glad it helped.
It seems to be better now !!
Thank you for sharing this video, hope your business is doing well. I wish I watched it earlier I power washed a single tennis court for the first time today and had to figure it out on my own. It was a long day considering the whole court looked black and I did my best to follow the slopes but a lot of dirt just kept getting left behind. Will be back on the slopes in the morning.
Great info! I am cleaning a tennis court for an HOA tomorrow and this is great advice. They want the screening done around the one court. What is a good round about price for the screen around one court (4 sides)? Does that include both the inside and outside of the screen or just one side? Thanks.
Once did an astro turf court at an apartment tower complex years ago. Wasnt aware of soft washing at all.....surface cleaned the whole bloody thing, over 2 days. Client was over the moon with the result. I found out on my next visit to the same place, that 12 tons of sand had been applied to the surface, to give it that "grass " feel......Live & learn....
The first tip I received was TENNIS COURTS. I have seen so many but it never occurred to me to CLEAN THEM. This video has opened my eyes. My question are: How many tennis courts? How long? Thanks!
awesome thanks for watching
Great video Doug what would be the best way to clean an asphalt basketball court can I downstream it and wash it off any help would be great.
No bleach on asphalt. Just rinse it down it with water only.
Nice. Good info as always. Got an estimate for 4 courts tomorrow. What is the range per square foot for low pressure soft washing a court? And how long did it take? Sorry for all the questions. Keep up the great content!
I charge per court depending on the variables. 550 per court on up.
Hi Doug great video I have my first basketball court cleaning at an Elementary school on Monday this will be my first time cleaning a basketball court the surface is asphalt any pointer you can share to help?
Only do a rinse down w water on asphalt. No pressure
NICE!!!! Good Kill! Huge Tennis Court!
Thank you sir
what is the best way to get rid of vegetation on clay courts with no chemicals?
Amateur soft washer here, to you think a push squeegee would be helpful to push the rinse to the areas of lawn you want?
Best video I have seen on the subject.
I think it would take a long time using one of those and hard to control the water in such a large area
You just made a friend!
Video is on point.
What product would you use on this?
Great video Doug! Have an HOA that wants me to clean 3 sets of 2 courts and was wondering how you price them. By the sq ft or just estimate man hours and apply a rate? For sure going to take a little time and a good water source.
Pretty much by the job....all the factors I mention in the video I have to account for. So man hours plus the variables dictate the job.
What kind of nozzle can I use to clean the tennis court at the apartment complex
How do you price tennis courts
Hi Doug,
For this type of tennis court what would be the (SH) ratio?
We used 50/50...3-4 applications
Wanting to clean a Pickleball court. Was wandering what surface cleaner is best and what should the pressure be on the power washer. It’s only two courts. Thanks
Pressure all depends on the surface and the surface coating. Surface cleaner to use depends on your machine.
@@dougrucker6783 the surface is just like a tennis court. I see a lot of cleaners out there. Just want to make sure we are getting a quality product and one that you would recommend. Thanks
Just hit the bell
Hi from Australia!
On a really old concrete court with patchy paint, what SH mix would you recommend?
30-50% depending on how dirty it is. Be careful of landscaping around
Thanks for the information!
How do you charge for the work on a tennis court if you don’t mind me asking?
Usually start at 550-750$ per court and go from there depending on variables
Hi doug what cleaning product do you spray on the courts is it chorine and at what ratio im in Australia thankyou im trying to get away from pressure cleaning them
12.5% SH...(Bleach). Pool chlorine will work too. Pretty much same thing. These courts we used a 50/50 mix
Got to questions doug. Is there water sources around to connect your water hose? And how you go about quoting this, like how much?
Yes there are water sources. I Price based on condition of courts and other variables. Usually between 550-750 per court is average.
@@PressureCleaningSch thank you! Your such a big help. I appreciate you and your channel
hey i have used chlorine with a great amount of success. i didnt even use a pressure washer. what are your thoughts on this
Thats basically what everyone uses
@@PressureCleaningSch thanks for the reply
What size tips to you like to use for your surface cleaner? I have a 30" surface cleaner for 10 gpm machine. Do you like the 4006 tips for a two tip cleaner? I've heard the wide the spray pattern and the more the flow the less likely for tiger stripping, but I wanted your input. Thanks PS. I do realize you said you don't use surface cleaners on tennis courts
For that I’d use (2) 25045. Or 25050
@@PressureCleaningSch Thanks
How much did you charge per square foot? On the tennis courts?
Sorry I don’t publicly discuss my pricing.
I see a generator on the trailer. What is the use case for that?
Was trying out a Booster Pump to see if I wanted to sell them. It's no longe there and I won't be selling them.
So you can use SH on this type of courts??
Sure.
What mix do you use?
30%-50% depending on how dirty
How long did it take you to clean and rinse 4 tennis courts?
A good minute. The rinsing takes a long time.
How much you charge per tennis court???
Thank you so much ✌🏼😎
All depends on the variables. Could be anywhere from 550 on up
I'm not trying to get too personal, but what did you charge per sq ft on this job?
Thank you sir. I have 19k sq ft of courts that need to be cleaned. Also, how many gallons of sH did you use?
750$ per court. Used a lot because they were bad. About 30 gallons per court I think. Didn’t really keep track of it once we got going
@@PressureCleaningSch appreciate that quick reply sir!
As a tennis court painter, I've found if an asphalt tennis court is really dirty, it means it hasn't been maintained for years which means it usually needs to be repainted. If so, you should probably pressure wash the entire surface to take up any loose dirt or paint. If a court is being maintained yearly, you can usually get away with washing it without chemicals as the dirt hasn't had time to settle or get caked on the court so it can just be pushed off. If a court hasn't been maintained, is dirty and the customer just wants it cleaned, you're spot on with all your soft wash recommendations.
Excellent points. Anytime any surface is to be repainted I always advise the customer to hire one company that does the cleaning and the painting. I don’t do paint prep. Just clean
How do you quote the courts
Use price 500-750 per court. Was turning out the be low. Now runs 1000-1500.
Hello Doug
We saw that in the last part of the video minutes; 10:34 - 10:45 there are several marks on the floor and in the minute 10:56 there are black marks...
We are curious to know if you can remove those marks with a surface cleaner or what you will do if the customer complains about them?
We think that those lines may come out with a surface cleaner, but at the same time, it won`t be worthed if the surface cleaner will leave even more marks...
We usually use a surface cleaner, never soft wash, and never left marks on it, we are wondering what the other buys did wrong in the service to left those marks you show in minute 7:00 "other than high pressure"?
We use about 1500 psi 4gpm with 25020 tips in a 20inch surface cleaner, and it never left those marks...
Thank you so much and thank you for showing us a new way to clean a tennis court... :)
No. The lines can’t “come out” w a surface cleaner. They were caused by a surface cleaner. The cause of the lines was discussed with the customer and And they already were aware what caused the lines before I caused them and this is why they called me.
@@PressureCleaningSch thank you for the information... So by your experience, you advise to only soft wash the tennis courts instead of pressure wash with surface cleaner?
Thanks again for your lessons
@@sircleancorp No I wouldn't advise soft wash only, as it all is going to depend on the surface conditions, type, etc, and if there is previous damage or not. We have cleaned some concrete tennis courts before with a surface cleaner with no issues. We have also cleaned many with a surface cleaner that were so bad cleaning with a surface cleaner would not have harmed it. For the surface in this video, I preferred not using a surface cleaner.
@@PressureCleaningSch I have never done courts so I’m totally ignorant. I assume on painted concrete courts you want to reduce pressure on the surface cleaner and or larger tips. Or do you just treat and rinse? Most courts here are the rubberized material. I have ideas but no facts lol. Any advice
Should have watched more I guess
Do you really need a chemical mixture we've always just used a mower to clean then the nozzle to spray it off and it always looks fine, whats the advantage of using chemicals,is it so you don't have to use pressure that might peel paint?
Yes no pressure and risk of damaging the surface or leaving striping lines. There have been some in the past we surface cleaned but they are usually so far gone it wouldn't hurt them.
@@PressureCleaningSch thank you for the reply, keep up the great work
Hey Doug what do you charge for a tennis court? Fixed price or SF? I’m in South Mississippi
Anywhere from 550$ on up Depending on the variables
@@PressureCleaningSch I figured. Got one to clean. Mainly was hoping to find out how long it takes to softwash one. I have air diaphragm, 1 HP Booster w Proportioner and a 2HP Booster for rinsing. I just placed a pretty good size order a little while ago. Cant wait to get that twist misting nozzle for my air rig.
@@jondykes930 the rinsing takes the longest. Just depends how bad the algae is and on the drainage and also the landscape around the court.
@@PressureCleaningSch thanks Doug
@@PressureCleaningSch I have a 2HP booster that is a dedicated rinsing line along with my GX690 8GPM washer so that’s about 18GPM of Rinsing 👍🏼
Is the stripping from a previous job?
That is correct
What mix do I use on a tennis court please do I use hypo thankyou
I use anywhere from 30-50% depending on severity of stains
I wish you could talk a little louder my speakers are al the way up!!!1
James Gordy thanks for the feed back. I’ll work on that
