Loddez If you use the grid like I do it will work. Then zoom way in and move around until you can see the exact right spot to connect things. It’s easier to start over with new shapes made with the grid snap turned on, rather than trying to line up shapes that were made with the grid snap turned off.
I need to make a kart for a big project I am working on in Dreams. I followed this tutorial to the letter, the entire thing is movable, the bolts are connected correctly and all the logic is wired correctly. However, in stead of driving forward, the back of it just bounces up and down and doesn't move forward at all. If anyone knows of a tutorial that works for the current version of the game, please let me know.
@@randomcallum no shit, not saying anything new. still not a good answer, it shouldnt take 30 minutes to make a functional vehicle, while lbp only took seconds, mm should be making tutorials on this a while ago.
I just wish there was a 2D toggle/option when you make a new creation, then everyone would be happy Another would be a solid mirror tool that can do complicated stuff like mirror bolt connections Also I miss LBP’s water, it was a tangible feature, and was kinda surprised Dreams doesn’t have real water (with buoyancy etc) out of the box :/

I would have to really sit down and look at it again bc it's been awhile, but I think it was to get both wheels to go the same direction - for one it is clockwise, the other counterclockwise, requiring a NOT gate if the same control is used for both simultaneously.
I don't understand how this works. You haven't set up anything for turning yet it turns. I've followed this tutorial exactly and all I've ended up with is a car that spins around.
Make sure you set to the box to be movable. I do this at 6:03 Its set up so L2 and R2 make the tires spin (backwards if you hold down L1/R1). Make them rough like I did so you can verify they are spinning.
This might be one of the simplest ways to make a physics modeled car. it's much simpler to just use a mover and pop it in any object you want. but this way the actual wheels move, and the friction with whatever you're driving on makes the car move forward, which I thought was really cool.
I followed it step by step and it still doesnt work. I have had problems on everything i have tried to do in this game. Im going back to lbp. U guys can have this complicated garbage
The way I have it set up, you use L2 and R2 to make the tires go separately, so to turn you only use one of them. Also, make sure that you’ve made the central block movable I do this at the very end right before I test it. And you may want to make the tires rough like I did, so you can tell that they are moving. Just take a close look at exactly which buttons are mapped to which output and you will see how to control it.
If you just want to use a joystick to move a block around, you can just use a mover on any block. This video shows you how to actually make wheels move so the physics engine moves the car.
Spent 1 hour of frustration trying to get the bolts right. Made me miss LBP for a bit. Back at it tomorrow. Thanks for this guide!

Good video, Keep up the good work!

The Spectrum Gamer Make sure the body is set to movable. There is a checkbox. I checked it in the tutorial. You might’ve missed it.
You just have to use motor bolts. Normal ones just sit there
Another way to make a car is by designing a frame and body for it and attach it to the car from ARTS story mode. Lol
This was so much easier in lbp. This game is complicated for no reason
True but maybe it’s more complicated for more possibilities
it's more complactes because it can do way more then little big planet ever could that's the reason

Thx you’re the best
5:30 what's the purpose of the not gate here?

@@nasonschooler6807 oh yea, that's probably it. Great video!
Thank you

Is there a better way or is that it

If only iKnew how to make 1 piece that acts like a car in dreams.
You can just attach a Mover to any block and then control it with the joystick.
Bro thx 🙏 sooo much I’m making a gta kinf of game
Any progress?
Hey
I followed it step by step and it still doesnt work. I have had problems on everything i have tried to do in this game. Im going back to lbp. U guys can have this complicated garbage
if you followed it fully it works
of course making a 3d game is more complicated than a 2d this is closer to a full engine where lbp is just an editor
@@randomcallum it didnt work for me either I have to retry it but how do u turn?
