One of the reasons I fell in love with Warhammer 40k was due to how it saved me. Growing up, I struggled a lot with trying to find myself. Sometime during High School I fell into a dark place, and it wasn't until I started reading the Horus Heresy novels that I found a way to fight and claw myself out of that darkness and become the man I am today. Warhammer 40k, for all the darkness it has, has saved me and many like me. It gave me an outlet, a massive seemingly endless universe to craft my own spin on things regardless of what anyone thought. I now have my own miniature army, have read countless books, have gotten into writing, and own my own RP forums with hundreds of members, and I owe a great deal of it to 40k. So, while the hobby is expensive and there are questionable things that GW has done over the years, I'm more than welling to dig into my wallet to buy the next book or mini as it's allowed me to come out of my shell XD. Either way, I love 40k, and getting to experience the freedom that comes with writing my own fandom crap and reading others, is another reason why I love it XD.
Getting a video about how each of the pre heresy primarchs would have reacted to being in Guillimans current situation would be pretty cool ngl, getting to see how they would run or ruin their own imperium would be great

It's awesome hearing that someone else has read deltora's quest! It was my 1st fantasy book series, and I now have an entire sleeve dedicated to the series.
I resonated with the comment about getting into painting vs playing repetitive games. This is exactly what happened to me. I had a doctor visit showing I was on the verge of being diabetic and already had elevated blood pressure. I decided to get into tabletop gaming and miniature painting. 3 months later I'm loving learning to paint and playing 40k. I'm also down 25lbs just being more active and getting out more just being a nerd.
What a great message for the whole Warhammer Community :D For me personally you are an integral part of the awesome content creators (Luetin, Baldermort, Weshammer and you obviously) who are a guiding light for the fanbase, just as the Astronomican is for the Imperium. I first started into the franchise with Luetins stuff and a few month later with Baldermorts and was a bit sceptical about your rather short videos. But it actually works very well! Keep up the great work!
I really like those more general positive vids from time to time. They just make me smile and have a better day. Thank You Major! But also... Majorminies Space dwarves when?
The thing I love about Warhammer 40k is as follows; The building, painting and customising of models of all shapes and sizes, the playing on tabletop and having a good time, the community and the lore with all it esentially being a mashup of sci-fi,fantasy and horror. I love playing 40k,learning the lore and interacting with the community.
My dad introduced me by proxy through playing Dawn of War, and letting me and my brother play it too. I really picked up interest when I was around 12, and got DoW2, and played Space Marine. Loved the games, started reading the lore after dad bought us the Dark Vengeance box (I painted horribly at the time, and sadly got rid of the minis out of shame and a lack of anywhere to play when I was like 15.) Round 19 I started painting D&D minis and had a lot of fun, and come being 20 last year, and I saw an LGS was selling the stuff, with a big number of players. I impulse bought the Space Wolves Combat Patrol, and now I have 2k points, and a number of kill teams. I barely play, but the painting side helps me mentally, and last time I went to the LGS, 5+ guys came up and complimented my army. Legit felt so fucking proud of myself
yea, there's this whole wholesome aspect of the hobby, especially with the modelling/painting side. Everyone can tell how much effort has been put into your army by a cursory glance.
Not sure if you're looking for video ideas but I'd love a video about the Imperium's first contact with each interstellar faction. I think you'd do it really well.
Your genuine enthusiasm for the warhammer universe and the way you present the lore is fucking awesome. It really helps at the end of a long day to get some laughs and a good lore video in. And you always deliver both. knowing you value every 40k out there and see us all as equals to the fandom is what sets you apart from most other content creators
Loving the positive vibes on a Friday! Honestly, I give GW lot of stick, but 40K has been something I've loved for 30 years, and I've never got bored of it, so I have to hand it to them that they're clearly doing something right!
You hit the nail on the head. Grimdark Setting and Humanity being badass. Been playing since 2003 The book 15 Hours is what I recommend to people getting into it who like Guard etc. The painting is like Therapy for me. I used to hide my hobby from 18-25 then I stopped caring haha
These lore videos introduced me to the setting of Warhammer 40k 3 years ago, they were a fun easy way to understand the crunchy lore of Warhammer 40k. Now three years later I am now balls deep in the hobby and couldn't be happier. Keep up the awesome work Majorkill!
I got introduced to a mobile game called Warhammer 40k Freeblade. Introducing me to some of the GRIMDARK world of 40k when I was a young kid. It introduced me to the imperium of man and the Dark angels chapter. The Orks and their Dakka lovin Bad moonz klan. As well as Khorne and Chaos. These factions within the main factions became my favorite. It’s quite funny that a trip to Best Buy had introduced to the awesome world of Warhammer 40k.
Shout out for the Deltora quest drop. I loved those books when I was a kid. Got me into fantasy more or less. Good to see I'm not the only person on the planet who has read them.
Ok, as a measure of how big a 40K nerd I am, I legitimately gasped with scandalized horror when I read that, and then whispered, "...heresy!" all purely on reflex. And...now I'm grassing you up to the Inquisition. Sorry, has to be done.
Fun video. I got into 40k through you, and it's really been one of the best discoveries ever. The lore is so rich, it's just pure pleasure to partake in this hobby !
Being a jacked hot Australian probably helped with you being upfront about your love for 40k but that's a reason I watch your vids they aren't some boring nerd junk they are hard hitting fast pace testosterone filled fun. Keep it up
Another point I’d like to add onto your “there is something for everyone” point is that there is also a character and faction for everyone. Going up to someone and asking them “what’s your favourite faction” or “who’s your favourite character” is always nice cause your almost guaranteed to get a different answer each time you ask someone. While me and my friends all love space marines we each love a different type of space marine. I love blood angels, my friend David loves salamanders, my friend Brett loves space wolves and my friend Noah loves black templars. Even though we all love the same faction there’s so much variety in the faction itself to keep things fresh.
3:24 Din Djarin: *removes helmet* The Armorer: "You are no longer Mandalorian." Bo-Katan: *removes helmet* The Armorer: "You walk both worlds." Double standards in a nutshell.
You hit the nail on the head. I love the lore and modelling but still have never played a game. I’m actually writing my own self-insert into the Horus Heresy featuring my homebrew faction and just that project has kept me occupied for like two years.
I am not so sure that amazon will do a good job of it, there are positive examples like The Boys, but on the other hand they totally massacred Rings of Power and made a generic fantasy show. Well, I hope Henry Cavill will actually have enough creative power to do a good job.
Used to play and be in the hobby when I was younger and had a good time. Recently came back to it, absorbing the lore and how characters I knew about have changed and new knowledge gained about them is awesome. Can't afford to play, no space for painting but do buy a video game here and there and watch great lore videos. Majorkill was one of the first to bring me back to exciting Warhammer lore. Cheers mate!
It's so good to finally hear something positive about the hobby we all love. Our community is hellbent on whining all the time, even though every single one of us is tits deep into the setting
After quitting the painting hobby out of frustration when I was a kid, I never really left 40k behind. The lore was just too enticing to forget. I kept on buying the codexs of the factions I loved, and red some of my favorite books ever during that time. And recently, I picked up the brush once more, to bring my own characters to the stories I love. Yeah. A really good vid. A nice way to remember and own our passion. Good job Major ^^
Thanks for your frequent videos! they definitely tickle some of my spots. I once was a 40k tabletop player, now I listen to audiobooks and your videos while eating breakfast or having a shower before work!
Honestly, what hook me up is the mental Gymnastic it takes just to analyze and connect the dots of many lore points in Warhammer 40k like emperor's divinity, or try to discern his plan for the imperium, it is fun to read between the lines in the Rich lore of warhammer 40k, and this universe has it You want a simple fun from crazy actions, Warhammer 40k got it, you want tragic stories and getting carried by carracter dephts of some characters, warhammer 40k got it, you want some horror story involving some eldritch horrors, warhammer 40k got it, you want some world building aspect of warhammer 40k to make your imagination run wild, Warhammer 40k also got it.
I really fell in love with warhammer ive been following you since you had like 4k subs and you aswell as the Wolf Master are the reason i stuck to the Lore i cant even afford playing the tabl top but reading the storys is what bring me the most enjomeant so ty for opening up this universe for me keep it up bro

Was planning on finally making a youtube video about my hobbies today and you really hit it on the head man. Huge Halo and star wars fan and you got exactly what I felt about those franchises. I just hope warhammer doesnt falter like that.
Been a fan of 40k (and the old fantasy stuff) since i was 7-ish years old, i remember kitbashing a power armored inquisitor using parts from space marines, grey knights, imperial guard bits, a sword from fantasy and some green stuff. I gave him a name and wrote an extensive backstory. I still have him in a box somewhere with my old black templar army and vampire counts zombie hord.
My love for warhammer and warhammer 40k started in secondary school. I loved the artwork and seeing the vast fully painted armies in white dwarf and (even though it was the 90's) the painting talent, time and effort people would put into it all. Now seeing warhammer flourish into a huge and ever growing empire makes me proud to be English. Good video and a nice gesture to help your mate out too.
Dude. You literally just summed up my warhammer 40k experience WORD FOR WORD! Since literally 2012 I have been slowly exposed to 40k. A random Luetin video here and there had me interested. Over the years I made friends that also enjoyed the franchise and we would dabble in some 40k games. Then, recently, I felt like I needed a non-screen hobby. By the grace of the emperor a friend of mine started painting a month earlier and all of a sudden I’m dropping hundreds on iron hands and tech marines and paints and I’m thrilled!! It’s been a blast to not stare at a screen for my free time yet nerd out harrrrrd!
Besides the mutual love for warhammer, you mentioning Deltora quest shook my core lmao, I haven't heard anyone say that name since middle school, amazing book series!
Cheers mate - thanks for this manifest of appreciation. I fell off the hobby when finishing high school, and it's the enthusiasm of the RUclips WH40K community (and especially yours) that has brought me back. And yeah - the universe was already vast back then (1997). It's just mind shattering huge now. I really appreciate the opportunity to learn more about this universe - while painting. Which reminds me - time to put a bit more work on the "1 H Sword Chaos Marine". Almost done!
Absolutely love your videos dude. Thanks for all your work and dedication. These last few months I have gotten into Warhammer 40k and I gotta say I love everything about it. What you said in this video was a perfect description of my insatiable love for deep badass lore and never ending stories. For Macragge..For Guilloman.. For the Imperium!!
The first dawn of war game introduced me to the world and just went on a lore hunt and haven't gotten into the tabletop game yet, but soon. Lore videos are just cherry on top of what enjoyed
Back in the 90s Wednesday nights used to be games night at my local Games Workshop store in Nottingham. The store would be packed full of sweaty nerds and the table crammed full of units of huge variety. To play your units had to be painted and you could only play one squad a vehicle or special unit. I have many fun memories of those evenings using a blood angel Furioso pattern Dreadnaught smashing down the walls of a tower some elder were in. A squad of Ogryns mowing down waves of genestealers. Also a not so glorious Battle where my Leman Russ tank panicked at the sight of a greater demon of Khorne and drove right through the lines of their own guardsman bit of a disaster that night and a very short battle.
Yeah, I’ve been a Warhammer fan since 1993 (I can’t believe it’ll be 30 years in a few months), and I’ve never gotten tired of 40K. I’d either be engrossed in the codexes and lore books, model building and game play, or novels (and I’d be infuriated by the painting). And one thing I love is that it’s a hobby I can do with other people or myself. For instance, with D&D, I need a group. And if I get swamped with work and can’t go I lose out. But with 40K, if I’m too busy to get a game in then I can just sit at home after work and relax building a couple models here and there. Just the other night I got home at 10, found my new Primaris Commander Dante had arrived, and sat down and built him in about 20 minutes. That was all the hobbying I did that day, but seeing that freshly built Dante, sitting around admiring the details, and putting him on my shelf was highly satisfying. Not to mention all the 40K audio books I listen to while spending an hour driving to work in the morning and another hour driving home. Just through my drive time I can knock out an entire novel in a week. How many hobbies can I enjoy driving to and from work?
So the thing about Star Wars that differentiates it from 40k is its sense of progression. Especially true of the old Legends Canon and (I think) becoming true in the Disney Canon is that the individuals who make up the world change and grow steadily. Sometimes for the better. Other times for the worst. But either way, they are always *interacting* with their circumstances. 40k on the other hand is all about myth arcs. Grand personalities and Grand Conflicts. The Rise and Fall of Gods and Heroes and the slow grind of inevitable cycles. In that way, Star Wars feels alive in a way no other setting does. Whereas 40k feels like the sort of Mythological Tapestry woven by our own precursor civilizations. I can imagine myself living a day in a Galaxy Far Far away. I can find myself inspired or horrified or swept away by the Gods in whose shadows I stride in 40k.
Honestly it even goes beyond just 40K, not into Sci-fi that much but like the ideas and themes of Warhammer? then you have Old World/Fantasy, want a more High Fantasy setting? Age of Sigmar might be more up your alley then. Warhammer as a IP really does have something for everyone.
Im a star wars refugee. Read all the books, was very invested in the universe and stories, then Disney came and blew it all up. I spent years wandering from world to world, universe to universe, searching for a new home. Nothing was working for me. I had heard of 40K but it was so hard to get into, everytime i tried, i simply bounced off. But thanks to you and the awesome 40K community, i eventually broke through. The focus on memes and the less serious/fun aspect of the universe helped a lot with the onboarding process. Then oddly enough, once you have a general understanding of characters, factions, and events, all the other warhammer content becomes so much more impactful. The books i had spent hours reading just to get bored and never finish, i was now hanging on every word even in just the first few pages. Since embracing 40K it has embraced me back and refused to let go. The universe is so deep and vast it makes star wars look like childs play. So thank you Majorkill, and thank you to the awesome community for helping me find a new home.
Majorkill if you want to know one of the best star wars media that breaks the mold is star wars knight of the old republic 2 as it is the best well written piece of star wars media

Got into 40k through RUclips then audiobooks and dawn of war iv absolutely adored the universe for years but never played the tabletop yet alone owed a model…yet. But I love that there’s not a lot of gate keeping just people who love the universe and interacting with others. it’s my home from home
Valid take. I've never read the books, nor have I painted any of the figures (i am contemplating to begin though...), but the lore is awesome. I usually just listen and watch lore videos from Majorkill and other Warhammer RUclipsrs. Shits awesome
I remember when I was trying to find what was going on with Warhammer ( the first thing I ever saw I about it was a full goblin archer army vs a zombie army in total war Warhammer) I remember being genuinely lost, I wanted find what was going on, who where this guys from all the total war Warhammer trailers, what were this factions about and what was the difference between the various types of Warhammer, then one day I stumble upon a majorkill video this slowly lead me to more Warhammer oriented content, now I can name multiple characters, factions and even subfractions with ease and although I first want to find a stable source of income before I officially enter the hobby I have had a blast watching all the videos, reading all this memes and engaging with various theories, the only thing I have to say to you majorkill is this, thank you, you Aussie chad
That is really true about the books, even the bad ones are good compared to other series. That is a great observation about having confidence in your hobby too. Be proud to be a Warhammer fan!
You may never see this, but I wanted to say that this amazingly wholesome video has really been a positive impact during one of the shittier days in my life. I've watched your videos ever since I got into warhammer from the first total war warhammer game and love them all. Anyways, thanks a million for all the laughs and smiles you've brought me over the years and helping me feel more confident in my hobbies.
It is like you described me exactly on that painting side. I stopped gaming as much, I audio book while I paint or you or Remembrancer or Luetin or Baldemort or Prince...by the Emperor I love this hobby.
"No books are hit or miss." Eldar vehicles getting blown up with a pebble, Astartes in terminator armor doing backflips. Space marines falling inlove. Are you sure?
You hit the nail on the head. I became a fan last year and can safely say that this and the x-men are my favorite IPs. Seriously it's insane how much better Warhammer 40k is then pretty much every other fictional setting.
It's so funny to me to see that one of the most obscure franchises has one of the most wholesome and welcoming community, and I'm glad to be a part of it, even if only as a spectator. 🤘🏻
Best thing about 40k I'd you can literally take decade long brakes from the tabletop game but still enjoy the lore through its books and channels like this. Then move house, find a box of old minis, think back to the fun you used to have, then find yourself building a knight army 2 months later
You summed up exactly why I loved Star Wars Legends (then just the "expanded universe") so much, and I do not find it coincidental that I began getting deep into 40K lore when The Mouse decided to kill Legends.
I started my deatchwatch army about 3 weeks ago. I only paint on Sundays. Its my only day off. I LOVE it. Cant wait to finish my combat patrol so i can start playing. Im starting to understand the different paint styles and how you apply them, with the help of mavricks channel. Just need practice now.
You, Majorkill are the reason I love warhammer so much, both fantasy and 40k. Your videos are always amazing and make me laugh. Keep up the glorious amazing work in the name of the emperor. Have a great day both to you and to everyone else.
My earliest memories of 40k (apart from getting the boxed set for Christmas 95) was reading all the short stories and random quotes in the books that came with the 2nd edition boxed set and being gripped by them. It was very early lore ofc and no way near as well written or as detailed as today but it was more than enough to get a 9 year old me hooked. I don't really bother with the tabletop anymore as GW priced me out of collecting a long time ago but I still love listening to the audiobooks and playing the video games (when they're decent ofc).
Exactly it I feel likei accomplished something when I finish a model. I'm on the book legion. I love star wars but this is different. Every book tells something different and there are so many factions to learn of. Keep up the great work.

For me personally you are an integral part of the awesome content creators (Luetin, Baldermort, Weshammer and you obviously) who are a guiding light for the fanbase, just as the Astronomican is for the Imperium.
I first started into the franchise with Luetins stuff and a few month later with Baldermorts and was a bit sceptical about your rather short videos. But it actually works very well!
Keep up the great work!
Seriously Majorkill you are one of those RUclipsrs who made me fall in love and revisit the Warhammer universe. Thank you and fantastic video!
Loved the games, started reading the lore after dad bought us the Dark Vengeance box (I painted horribly at the time, and sadly got rid of the minis out of shame and a lack of anywhere to play when I was like 15.)
Round 19 I started painting D&D minis and had a lot of fun, and come being 20 last year, and I saw an LGS was selling the stuff, with a big number of players.
You just had to hit me in the feels when you said Deltora's Quest. I read those books when I was young.
Same. Felt like a blast from the past
Holy shit same! In my country it was called deltoras ( bælte) (belt) those cool gems on the backbone of the book
The Grim dark aspect is the same reason why I like Berserk
Shout out for the Deltora quest drop. I loved those books when I was a kid. Got me into fantasy more or less. Good to see I'm not the only person on the planet who has read them.
Majorkill is the kind of guy that makes the Emperor look like a Guardsman
This comment is HERESY
Yes inquisitor this comment right here.
Ok, as a measure of how big a 40K nerd I am, I legitimately gasped with scandalized horror when I read that, and then whispered, "...heresy!" all purely on reflex.
And...now I'm grassing you up to the Inquisition. Sorry, has to be done.
Filthy heretic how dare you utter such words?! Arbites - take her away!
Bro thought we wouldn’t noticed such heretic comment
Keep it up
It has a lot of space for fan chapters on tabletop. There is likely more homebrew than official chapters there.
For the EMPEROOOOOOOR
👍
Another point I’d like to add onto your “there is something for everyone” point is that there is also a character and faction for everyone. Going up to someone and asking them “what’s your favourite faction” or “who’s your favourite character” is always nice cause your almost guaranteed to get a different answer each time you ask someone.
While me and my friends all love space marines we each love a different type of space marine. I love blood angels, my friend David loves salamanders, my friend Brett loves space wolves and my friend Noah loves black templars. Even though we all love the same faction there’s so much variety in the faction itself to keep things fresh.
3:24 Din Djarin: *removes helmet*
The Armorer: "You are no longer Mandalorian."
Bo-Katan: *removes helmet*
The Armorer: "You walk both worlds."
Double standards in a nutshell.
This 8 minute video is so worth it, definitely been sharing it to people who had not heard of the Glorious Warhammer 40k
First in the name of the God Emperor
reported for heretical cringe 🗿
No no you’re not
I'm not a god, I declare thy cringe.
@@Lord_Frieza185 False you are just daemon trying to deceive me, but the god emperor give me strenght to see throughout your lies

Honestly, what hook me up is the mental Gymnastic it takes just to analyze and connect the dots of many lore points in Warhammer 40k like emperor's divinity, or try to discern his plan for the imperium, it is fun to read between the lines in the Rich lore of warhammer 40k, and this universe has it
You want a simple fun from crazy actions, Warhammer 40k got it, you want tragic stories and getting carried by carracter dephts of some characters, warhammer 40k got it, you want some horror story involving some eldritch horrors, warhammer 40k got it, you want some world building aspect of warhammer 40k to make your imagination run wild, Warhammer 40k also got it.
I started watching 40k lore videos when I got in a really depressed place but it have honestly fallen in love with it and your videos bring me joy and are epic cant wait.till 10th edition
Wow, never thought I'd see someone who read Deltora Quest. Glad to see another person read it and enjoyed it.
It was your videos that got me into warhammer. Now I'm listening to the audio book and looking for a first mini to paint.
My man casually mentioned my childhood, Deltora quest was fire, such a classic high fantasy
This was such a nice wholesome video.
It’s always nice seeing people being passionate about the things they love. Good on you mate. 🙂
Totally agree with you buddy!! I’ve loved this since I was 12 years old!! I’m 43 now n still love it
Besides the mutual love for warhammer, you mentioning Deltora quest shook my core lmao, I haven't heard anyone say that name since middle school, amazing book series!
Your lore helped me get to a place where I'm comfortable enought to start buying an army. First ever and I'm pretty excited to choose who I go with.
Still can’t believe how much ur channels grown been watching since you were at 50k subs so happy for you man 🙌❤️
Its always so awesome when a legendary modder finally makes the jump to develop their own games, hope its a banger
Ay yo, Deltora’s quest is awesome! That series made me fall in love with fantasy when I was a kid.
The positivity is uncomfortably refreshing in this day and age. Especially about our beloved grimdark (and sometimes grimderp) setting
I’ve been a war hammer fan for 12 years now and it still never gets old. So much material to enjoy and so many people to enjoy it with. By far the most wholesome awful universe in existence lol
I’ve been looking for months to send a friend of mine one of your videos to truly try and hook him and by God I found it! Couldn’t agree more with what you said
Been into Warhammer some 30+ years mate, and I love the content you put out. Keep it coming
Got into 40k through RUclips then audiobooks and dawn of war iv absolutely adored the universe for years but never played the tabletop yet alone owed a model…yet. But I love that there’s not a lot of gate keeping just people who love the universe and interacting with others. it’s my home from home
Man, I love your videos. And hope that your that you never stop making them.
You don't see videos like this too often, this was really nice to watch!!
Anybody else grin when he brought up Deltora Quest? Such a gem of a series. All the different side books were great too.
For me i love Warhammer 40k because i love stories of hope in a hopeless world i mean that's the only reason Guilliman coming back hit so hard for me
The density yet the accessibility of the lore is the key to Warhammer's allure.
Deltora Quest. Totally forgot about that series. Loved ot as a kid. Thanks for the reminder my man.
Andor will blow your mind
LOVE that Deltora Quest got a mention, I also wished there was more
Exactly it I feel likei accomplished something when I finish a model. I'm on the book legion. I love star wars but this is different. Every book tells something different and there are so many factions to learn of. Keep up the great work.
