Fr tho like it silly to make people pay for something the camera is capable of doing. I could see if it was a enhancement but its not so its just messed up
you mention, after installing software, rebooting, starting EOS Webcam Utility and it "should" find your camera

@@Grown_Bna cuz imagine paying something like 700-1K dollars for a canon camera, with that price canon should atleast give you access to stream 1080p. I get the 5 cameras thing, yes that’s ok to pay for but compromising the quality is a bad thing. At the end of the day then it’s better to get a 4k camlink or something which is a one off payment

@Shift18 You want to use their software to make it your webcam.. a software the used resources to develop and still maintain.. So yeah..
It's complicated, but worth it. Once you overcome the latency issues, the videocall quality is FANTASTIC. I coach via Skype and my clients often comment how nice and clear the video quality is.

I connect EOS to another app OBS, and it creates a delay for video to match the delay of audio. 🫠

Start the streaming software program before turning on cam and make sure it is set to video mode
The EOS Webcam Utility "Pro" (Version 2.0.30 on Mac) does not recognize my brand new R8. Reading through the comments below, it seems like the majority of users cannot get this piece of "Pro" software to work. Canon really needs to work out the bugs in the software. In the meantime, directly selecting "Canon Digital Camera" in Zoom seems to work. The video titled "Canon R8 - Streaming and WebCam Set-up Tutorial Using Macbook Pro" by Jason Hermann details this method. By using a mic plugged into the camera itself, there are also no audio/video lags. Cheers.
I can't get the app to find my EOS Rebel T5 either. It just doesn't recognize anything plugged in.

Wow, I had no idea they charge a monthly or annual fee for this feature that should just be built in. Seems like it would make more sense to get a capture card and pay a one time fee. Or is there some benefit to using this versus something like the Elgato Cam Link 4K External Camera Capture Card?

It was very informative, but shocking that Canon charges for this software. For my product photography, I have been using a Canon T7i, so that is what I will be starting with for my youtube videos.

If you are outside of the US, the EOS Webcam Utility Pro is not available and thus you can only use the camera in 720p. Can not find a work around.
for streaming on twitch, im having an issue connecting to my home Wi-Fi to access internet to stream. Eos webcam utility has to be connected to my camera (m50 ii) through the cameras Wi-Fi in order to use as webcam. How can i connect my camera to Eos utility without connecting to my cameras Wi-Fi so i can access my home internet to stream? im currently trying to stream on twitch.
Random issue. After installing the utility, my camera turns off when I plug it in.
when i click on eos wecam in streamyard i just see the black screen that says eos webcam instead my video? do you know what I'm missing here?

hi! I have problem with connecting R10 as webcam, I tried M50 and it has no problems, R10 is blinking screen - black screen with computer logo vs. what i see through lens - cant stay on lens screen, the red busy light is blinking as well... i tried usbc cable and also usbc/usbc cable, dont have hdmi so i hope there is something in settings or something like that

I live in Canada and when I try to sign up for a subscription it will not allow me to pay because I cannot choose a State in the billing address drop down menu, Canadian provinces are not listed and therefor will not allow me to continue to payment. I was really hoping I could use my EOS R as a webcam for streaming on Twitch through OBS studio but because I am not allowed to pay for a subscription to the EOS webcam utility pro software I simply can not use it. This is extremely frustrating and I can not find a single mention of this issues anywhere online. Am I seriously the only Canadian trying to use there Canon camera for a webcam and having this issue? This really makes no sense to me. If there is any answer to this problem it would be greatly appreciated!

@@bigstef02 Yes it basically forced you to enter your CC info and then only your subscription gets activated, without that the App doesn't show your video feed. With due respect, this is the biggest piece of worthless shit from Canon. After getting a 5000 USD camera, now I have to pay a subscription to be able to use it for a Zoom meeting.

Unfortunately this is US only. It cannot be used in Europe. I have tried to use my RP with an HDMI capture unit and i have serious issues in Descript with audio/video sync. Any suggestions ?

When you connect the Camera to the computer, are you using the mini HDMI port (Out) to a capture card (in) via USB into the computer? I have a t6i. I can't seem to get the Canon Webcan software to recognize the camera when it's plugged in . (mini HDMI to capture card)... I am trying to use the webcam software because when i connect the t6i to the capture card, it seems i cannot leave autofocus on because it puts the little box on the screen, and i cant figure out how to turn it off. I was hoping the webcam app would have a fix for this.....

I followed these steps to the letter with my Canon R5 and it did not work! I watched one or two other videos to check myself and i was still left dumbfounded because the canon software wouldn’t recognize my R5. I ended up cancelling my subscription and ordering a cam link 4K i hope that works. The canon software was not user friendly nor did it offer any immediate troubleshooting measures. So disappointed in them.

I have a Canon R8 and don't see this software bringing anything to the table beside a paywall. I use my R8 on all my web apps without the EOS Webcam Utility Pro. It works fantastic on all my Teams and Zoom calls without it. Just make sure you put the camera in USB mode and it will autodetect in windows and MacOS

In 2 years I've never had the EOS free version work properly. Bluetooth won't connect at all. My router is 3 feet from the camera, but the camera always disconnects from wifi before I have a chance to hit "record". USB has always been hit and miss with EOS. This camera (connected with USB) is the only thing that ever made Windows 10 bluescreen for me. If it wasn't for my SD card reader this camera would be a brick on my desk. No more Canon products for me, and no subscriptions for any software.

This isn't available in Canada. You can download the software but when it comes time to pay, you can't change country. So unless you have a zip code, you ain't gettin' this.
I just use obs and their virtual camera or just use a capture card

That is correct you do not need capture card using the webcam utility. I think you are limited to 1080P video. Where as some capture cards have 4k

Just realizing you have now to pay a monthly fee for this. Before it was free... incredible. These monthly subscriptions fees are everywhere now. crazy. Soon we will have to pay a monthly fee to breathe oxygen. I must say I will not use it and, better buy a good camera and don't pay monthly fees that has non sense in this case.... now just also realized that this new version is not compatible with my T3i anymore while the old one worked.... So now you pay but less devices has supported.... great, thank you canon!
They still have a free tier. I think it was always only 720P, and now they added a 1080P capability, and that is the part that isn't free. So technically... everything that used to be free is STILL free.
