The Stars are a team built for the playoffs. Right now I believe we would lose a 7 game series to them but we are getting close. Good test for the Habs
Hey Knucks. I brought my dad to the same game from Vaudreuil. I just told him that you were at the same game and he told me it would've been a cherry on top the sundae meeting you after that Vancouver game. He watched you back in the day. His favorite player is also Xhekaj.
Been saying for weeks that they turned it around after that 9-2 drubbing to the Pens. It's like something clicked in them. They're a different team now. Let's hope they can keep it going. GO HABS GO!
I’m a big Habs fan. I have been one since Guy, Larry, Steve and the boys were great. I’m looking at it now and see it coming now. It’s too bad that I won’t see the next dynasty.
The Canadiens have 7 players who have played on a playoff team that made it to the Stanley Cup final. They have plenty on the roster who know what it takes to win, which is amazing 3 years into a rebuild. Adjustments to the young defence, the 2nd line and goal tending were addressed but weren't realized until December. Injury and Primeau's waiver status held them back. Dobes played so well against the Leafs in the preseason that he deserved another look. Once Laine came back they made the Carrier and Dobes moves and the team took off.
The most important thing for the team to figure out is what’s been working so they can identify what they’re doing to be successful so it’s repeatable and so it can be continuously improved.
@@kavemanjoshwe also didn’t do a full rebuild. He had all Suzi, Caufield, Guhle already. He kept Gally, Andy, Armia, Evan, Dvo. There are literally only two players we rebuild drafted in the lineup, Slaf and Hutson. They did a youth re-tool.
@@kavemanjoshthey blew several high draft picks...Kakko 2nd overall, Lias Andersson 7th overall and Vitali Kravtsov 9th overall. None of them are with the team. Gorton is a specialist of quick rebuilts so don't expect a long one with him !!!
@@darrenpinard1658 they traded every veteran that was movable. Gally, Anderson, Devo, Armia were un-tradable contracts. As for draft, Slaf/Hutson was their first draft. Reinbacker/Demidov/Beck/Hage have yet to make the NHL.
@@powers1500 Kakko was the consensus’s 2nd overall pick. Can’t fault them for that, the others agree. The Rags never really bottomed out tho. They drafted 1st and 2nd because they moved up both times in the lottery, and 19 and 20 were sh**t drafts. They were never a bottom team, and certainly didn’t tank for multiple years to get high picks.
Let’s not forget The team didn’t get in till 3am so no sleep till like 4 am while Dallas was waiting in Montreal since early Friday! The schedule sucks this year! Where’s the home team advantage! Doesn’t make sense.
I agree about amongst other subjects brought up that the D pairings are solid and everyone is starting to take on the accountability side of the game. Of note, I would like to see Xhekaj shoot the puck more. I know his offence will get better over time, but he's got a heck of a slapper, and a deceiving wrist shot.
Management may have decided to keep him out to prevent a spread of the virus on the team. With a playoff berth within reach, a bad bug running through the roster could make it harder to win critical games
It is obvious that Mr.Molson and his rich investors wanted a quick rebuild which is not usuallly good for business...this is why they hired Gorton after how quickly he did turn around the rangers. The main problem with the rangers was at the draft table. Several high draft picks did not pan out so they fired Bobrov their head scout which finally got himself a job in Montreal...!!!
Hughes won’t trade any veterans if in the mix In fact he may even try to land some RD depth Not a huge deal to let UFA’s walk Evans will re-sign Savard should stay around another 1-2 years and stay in the organization in the player development system Armia maybe bring back as well, he’s big beef, good on the PK and along the boards But one of Gally or Andy would need to go Maybe Marc Bergevin can talk Rob Blake into trading for one Maybe reunite Gally with Danault Habs retain Habs need size so I am in nor rush to trade Anderson so long as he plays like this Gally has been great all year he’s turned back the clock but need to open the door to young kids Beck Tuch Florian That’s just bottom. 6 Demidov in top 6 Only so much room on roster
They will be talking about it in ten years' time as the turning point in team history. You have to stare into the abyss before change takes place. The Penguins were this teams abyss. Just embrace the fact that this team had the ability to turn things around. 😊❤😊
Love Knuckles and Stu - grew up watching Nilan and love the analysis from these two. Spot on!

Well, you have a new follower in me from Yorkshire, UK. Your show is a Sunday treat. 😊❤😊
This upload is pertinent to the "latest Mtl news" which is great,. thx

Anderson beating the crap out of Wilson and Trouba was the turn around point. You just felt it even as a fan
Love the show. Chris you are the real deal.
Appreciate the explanation of the Habs defensive pairings: a rookie with a veteran.
Since December 3rd they’ve 12-5-1 That’s good hockey!
Gotta love CKN. And stu, great podcast, ❤GHG

On t’aime Chris! Depuis longtemps!
3 yrs in but let's look at the Rangers....nothing is guaranteed. They are headed in the right direction.
Rangers never did a full rebuild. They drafted 1st overall because the won the lottery, then Panarin and Fox wanted to sign with them.
@@kavemanjoshwe also didn’t do a full rebuild. He had all Suzi, Caufield, Guhle already. He kept Gally, Andy, Armia, Evan, Dvo.

Winners talk about winning. Losers whine about travel and the Refs. 🤣🤣
@ ya ok must be a Leafs fan lol btw Nobody’s crying!Habs still could of won that game as easily as they lost it in OT and still got a point 😂
Dallas was at strip club until 4:30 am so same same lol GHG
Bon show!

Anyone know where i can see the Nilan backhand shootout goal?
now they have to be good against bad teams
The Habs follow the puck not the man. Carrier has made a difference. The goaltending is much better without Primeau.
Management may have decided to keep him out to prevent a spread of the virus on the team. With a playoff berth within reach, a bad bug running through the roster could make it harder to win critical games
The league was ASlEEP on Carrier. what a great dependable D that came available for near nothing.
Chris nucleus power play coach jj 😜

Can you address why we are healthier? Luck or was something deliberately done?
Hughes won’t trade any veterans if in the mix
In fact he may even try to land some RD depth
Not a huge deal to let UFA’s walk
Evans will re-sign
Savard should stay around another 1-2 years and stay in the organization in the player development system
Armia maybe bring back as well, he’s big beef, good on the PK and along the boards
But one of Gally or Andy would need to go
Maybe Marc Bergevin can talk Rob Blake into trading for one
Maybe reunite Gally with Danault
Habs retain
Habs need size so I am in nor rush to trade Anderson so long as he plays like this
Gally has been great all year he’s turned back the clock but need to open the door to young kids
Beck
Tuch
Florian
That’s just bottom. 6
Demidov in top 6
Only so much room on roster
It's jokes 😊
Old joke: You won't know where and you won't when but you will know why.
The Habs were very tired against the Stars
Does Stu Cowan travel with the team?
