@@smu7270 1x 40 but 2x 38 and x1 39, so that's like nearly 4x 40. He should be in the HOF regardless! He is one of those players in '93 that if you remove the Habs don't win. Yes, Roy was the MVP, however they don't win without Demers, Carbo, Muller, Desjardins, Keane, Bellows, Leclair, just to name a few and it sucks to leave some of them out, but I just think the 1992-93 Habs team is so so underrated now days. They make it sound like it was all Roy. Like I said, he was the MVP, but you remove Muller and they don't win, you remember Damphousse and they don't win. You remove Demers, they certainly don't win either. It was a Dream Team to me and will always be. I don't accept the "they were a bad team" take, nor do I accept the same thing being said about 1986. They had a good team too in 1986. We just got to wonder though, what if it was EDM in '86 and PIT in '93. Things could have been different!
@@smu7270 Only one, actually. But he did have three consecutive seasons of 38, 39, and 40. He also scored 38 two years after the 40 goal year. He did have 12 seasons of 20+ goals, 5 seasons of 30+ goals, and a 40 goal season. He was also an excellent two-way player. And, he was HUGE in big games, especially in '93 (11g 12a 23pts in 20 games). Simply put, he was a great player. And, in the traditions of Belliveau, LaFleur, Savard, and Carbonneau, he was a class act. A quintessential Montreal Canadien. One of my all-time favorites.
One of my alltime fav Canadiens. I met him in 1999 and he autographed my jersey. Super nice guy and actually took the time to have a nice signature, not just a random one that some players throw together. It was nice
Vinny scored the game winning goal in the only NHL game I was lucky to watch live in 1993. Feb 20, 1993, Habs 5 Sens 4, it was magical, thanks Vincent!!!
Part of Savards rebuilding. Tabernak. Him Bellows & Muller. And the rest they say us history . Met him at Bourbon Street in St. Saveur, him Keane, a bunch of guys after they swept Buffalo. Great times.
Damphousse is a great guy and easy to talk too. I never forget meeting him 10 years as a scorekeeper at the DDO arena when he coached his son in Novice A. I was also a journalism student at Dawson College and I wanted to do a profile feature on him. After the game I walked up to him and asked if I can interview him, he said he was busy but he'd take my email down so he can contact me when he was available. About 2 weeks went by and all of a sudden when I thought I guess he's too busy to contact me oh well, I get an email saying "can we do an interview in an hour." We spoke for about 30 minutes and it went great. The impression I got was Vinny really was a great team guy that truly understood what it meant to be a hab
Vinny should be in the Hall no doubt. He produced wherever he went and his stats back it up. He was a big game player and had a great backhand. Fleury, Mogilny and Larmer should also be in the Hall.
When I first moved to this border city of Detroit, and began the Saturday night tradition, Mr Damphousse was #10 for the Maple Leafs in those Norris wars.
All Star games are largely forgettable. I remember Toronto's Damphouse netting 4 and being the All Star MVP. A great Leaf that got away. Mr. Nilan, I cant stop paying attention to your material. You bring a rare balance of life stories and inside hockey, something for everybody. Many " analysts " could learn from you. Thanks.
We lived in Barrie, (home to Shayne Corson) when Vince was headed to Toronto. Mark Hebscher the sportscaster there called Vince "Vinny Damp Hut" when doing the hilites. HoF should have happened year one. Thanks, Knucks
i remember being at a bar called Mingles in Sudbury lol and he was there said hi to him he was there with Brian Savage and a couple other guys lol 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
I remember when you played for the leaf's I was living in Toronto at that time my in-law went to your wedding because my mother in-law was working with your mother in. I'm also divorced and living out of Ontario and happy to be a habs fan.
Damphousse was productive everywhere he played. One of the most under-recognized players of his generation. Put him in the Hall of Fame!
@chrisod22, you are perfectly right!!
Damphousse, Fleury (Theo), Mogilny, and Cujo among others should already be in the HOF.
I didn't know Damphousse was not in it.
Multiple 40-goal seasons, too.

When it comes to the 93 playoffs and Montreal, nobody ever talks about Paul Dipietro....a 4th line guy who scored 8 goals in 16 games. That's huge

Love when you have former Habs on Knuckles...love it!!!

What a class act! In the Jean Beliveau mold.
The legend Damphousse!
What a class act Vinny is. Mature like this when he was a kid and in Toronto too. Credit to his parents and family.
Mr. Damphousse , In Québec , were very proud of having him as a Canadian Veteran Fan . He's our Jean Beliveau of the 90's . Great Guy .😉😉😇😇
Part of Savards rebuilding. Tabernak. Him Bellows & Muller. And the rest they say us history . Met him at Bourbon Street in St. Saveur, him Keane, a bunch of guys after they swept Buffalo. Great times.
Thanks!
Great talk guys! Two of my favorite Habs from back in the day!
Now that was another great video Chris! I loved every minute!

Great guest Damphouse was one of my favorite center, very smart player
Definitely a true Hall of Fame
How is he not in the Hall of Fame?
Great show Chris👍🏼👍🏼
Great interview All the alumni must be exited to see the direction this team we all love heading towards an awesome era of Habs hockey.
When I first moved to this border city of Detroit, and began the Saturday night tradition, Mr Damphousse was #10 for the Maple Leafs in those Norris wars.
I didn't realize that Vincent didn't speak much English when he was drafted. Now you can't even detect an accent
Great show
Well done Chris. Cheers from a fellow ‘Terrasian’.

Is there any game more passionate than hockey?
Great mind talking here !!
We need to start a petition for Vince. He has my vote for Hall of Fame.
Markov is another player that didn't get the full credit he deserves
i remember being at a bar called Mingles in Sudbury lol and he was there said hi to him he was there with Brian Savage and a couple other guys lol 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Good show..... Interview Wilf Paiement.

VINCENT DAMPHOUSSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! w0000t w00000000t!!!
And Vincent is a very nice guy
Marcel Dionne and Gilbert Pereault didn't win a SC. How is that justice?
Great player
Capitaine Damphouse! Great Hockey man !
you need to get Mike Keane on the podcast
Knuckles, you ever interview Dave Hutchison?
Damphousse 100% HOF.
Vinny hasn't aged at all.
where is Tim?
I'm out of the loop. What happened to Tim?
Younger bro stuff
What happened to Tim? Did you have a falling out?
Is Tim still with you guys ? Hopefully, everything is fine
Good show great question from a player to another player🏒
