They don't have ears but like all insects and arachnids, they can sense vibrations. Noises are vibrations. When we talk, we're producing vibrations. They're also venomous as all tarantulas but no ones ever died to a tarantula. Venom ≠ poison. Venom has to be injected into your bloodstream like a bite. Poison has to be ingested, inhaled or absorbed.

I could’ve sworn there was more to the first story:
Like he was told they didn’t have ears so they couldn’t hear, but I thought it was that the tarantula had been de-venomed as well, so he was chill with screaming as loud as he wanted without scaring the spider. But it turned out the spider hadn’t been de-venomed.
if the spider was de-venomed (de-fanged) it’d die and it’d be considered animal cruelty. it would not be able to hunt food, so i don’t think he thought it had been de-fanged.
Tarantulas aren't poisonous to humans. Bear Grylls ate them and he was fine. They taste like very hairy chicken.
I also heard that his scream was pre- recorded so that he didn’t scare the spider 🤷🏽♀️

In Jurassic park when the tyrannosaurus bashes it’s head through the top of the car was not on purpose. Because of the rain the trex robot was malfunctioning and moving on its own. Those screams from lex and Tim were real.
Tarantulas are actually not super venomous but Daniel Stern most likely didn't know that 😂 you should totally do a video about the difference between venom and poison it's incredibly interesting

The actor in home alone didn’t actually scream. They don’t have ears but they do hunt by vibrations and if he did scream then it would have caused the spider to be scared and react. Instead he pretended to scream silently and they added the scream in post production.

Carey Elwes (Wesley) was also talked into riding Andre The Giant's quad. He wrecked it, and got a seriously broken toe, which he tried to hide from the director, Rob Reiner. Andrea had to have a quad to get him between sets. Eventually, Elwes wound up in the hospital for it, and was treated by the same doctor that treated him for the sword to the head.
Not to mention, the scene where he's sitting and talking to Buttercup on top of the hill, you can see how he shifts his weight off his foot when he stands.. 👌🏼

Tarantulas aren’t poisonous. Their hair is the thing that is “poisonous”, when they get scared or feel threatened tarantulas drop their hairs which cause a large, painful rash. So considering it’s not lethal, they aren’t technically poisonous! 😁

Tarantulas are mildly venomous, but the venom is less powerful than a regular bee. It wouldn’t do much, but the bite would sure as hell hurt, they got big ole chompers

Not sure why but I was expecting something about The Godfather and the whole horse head scene. During rehearsals John Marley did the scene with a fake horse head - by the time of the final cut, the producers had reached out to a local Jersey dogfood factory and obtained a real horse head. The scream was actually genuine and real!

In Goonies the kid were not allowed on the set with the giant pirate ship so when you see their reaction seeing it it’s their first time and genuine reactions!

I was in the movie theater watching the princess bride, the ROUS had just been slain. Me, being two or three at the time, thought it was a fantastic idea to yell "HE KILLED THE RAT!" in the middle of the movie. My younger brother and I joke about it sometimes (I don't believe he was born when this happened and I don't remember doing this, but we've heard the story a few times.)

I came here to say this. Spider definitely can react to sound as well.
The venom in new world tarantulas (the kind in home alone) almost ALL have the venom potency of a bee sting. I’ve been bitten by one and it’s only a TINY bit worse than a bee. It’s the hairs that you should be worried about, but the spider will try to flee before they kick hairs. If the tarantula was de-venomed (de-fanged) it would not be able to hunt food.

When I was pregnant with my youngest daughter I had a lovely one which would play on my belly each night with her as I played music or stories on tape as I tried to relax when I was on bed rest with her during the last part of it. I appreciate sharing the fun facts, here are a few more that may have been overlooked in the research for this video. Tarantulas aren't poisonous, they have venom- that is as mild as a bee sting with plenty species. Only a few are medically significant, certainly not ones used on film. They can definitely be scared by screaming, as they sense vibrations in the air as one of their only ways of getting information. Honestly I am much more worried about the tarantula's safety, a fall from just a foot above the ground can easily kill them and they are very fragile creatures. They need to be treated with respect and care that the film industry rarely shows to even humans, but that's a rant for another day.

One is when Rodrick Heffley (Devon Bostick) was crying during Patty's performance in Rodrick Rules. He really cried because that was the last scene (or something like that) and he didn't wanna leave bc he didn't get to say bye but they kept it bc idk.

Did you know that in the movie Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix, when Daniel Radcliffe started screaming for Sirius after he went through the veil.
