I was thinking of getting a juicer but since the body needs fiber. It makes sense to blend instead and keep the fiber. Plus that fiber helps you feel full.
I have both a juicer and high end blender. I won't juice anymore, I did it 3 times and its really difficult to clean up. It makes a heck of a mess and it doesn't taste nearly as good as a smoothie. And worst part is the amount of produce and fruits you go through for a cup of juice you feel like your wasting money. Juice an orange and a few oz of juice come out that means you get to juice multiple oranges. The amount of waste juicing puts off is pretty crazy. By comparison blending just throw the fruit in without the peels, hand full of greens and protein powder or whatever and your done, rinse out the blender. Tastes amazing and fills you up. I feel amazing and am addicted now to blending.
Last time I checked our body absorbs things differently throught the day and fibers, pectin, and other forms of natural substance in the vegetable or fruit is the best thing for your gut colon mouth and immune system. Fighting cancer too. The juicer I may just get for my times of breaking fast cheating on the go day as to add some nutrients to my busy schedule. The blender is my go to for my daily tho. It seems alot more beneficial

Your videos are all sufficient, for anyone who is interested to feel and get better, and it is a personal choice. We can't get better than you , specially online for wellbeing. You make it so readily available for anyone who wants to find out in bettering their life and lifestyle, no excuse, where you chose your own priorities. In my opinion, you are the best, in what you know and how you put it across. If I had one job to choose, I would want to work for you and promote what can happen to the body in terms of healing, preventative, then curative options, even if it is too late. I know , that the growing population is out of control, and the food today can't be that great unless you grow your own , or have lots of money, but the way explained by you over and over in your videos, everyone can eat better , and you are truly a gem. Wish you well
I used to juice with 400 bucks juicer. Then I quit for years. I gave away the juicer kit/ sausage maker/masticating , multifunction kit. Now I just blend with Blendjet, protein powder, green powder , honey and coconut water.
I blend and juice. Usually part of smoothies is water, but I prefer use slow juicer vegetable juice. Before I blend avocados I add little red cabbage juice not water. Cabbage juice is full of vitamin C but it is not tasty . You need lots of raw cabbage( usually people do't consume raw cabbage in such amount ) to make half glass of juice. Raw cabbage juice in smoothies (berries grey-fruits etc) tastes O.K.
you can actually do both depending on the fruit and not waste the fibre. now it might take a bit of time but that depends on the person. you can juice for example clementines/oranges or citrus fruits using a squeezer. toss that extra fibre into a blender, add vegetables or fruits and mix it with the liquid you just squeezed out. no fibre goes to waste, its tastier and in a more liquid state. obviously the biggest issue with that for most people is time. for me, instead of it being one or the other, why can't it be both?
Why choose when you can do both? There are vegetables like carrots, beets, ginger, etc that you cannot blend - these are also quite difficult to chew raw, especially for people with TMJ. Vegetable juices can be a great addition to your diet if you otherwise would not eat them - in addition to the fibre that you already consume. You can blend these vegetable juices with whole fruits to make them more palatable - the best of both worlds!
I want to juice beets and leafy greens because I have high blood pressure. But I don’t want to be insulin resistance. What do you recommend Dr. slow juicing or blending ? Thank you
Nice meeting you too. Your video is now up and running with great response from friends and relatives. Hope to do our video interview soon when I've gathered some more questions from followers =)
I really enjoy all your videos and wanted to say thank you for sharing your priceless knowledge. You are helping us to learm and educate with our health and wellness.
What about slow juicer? I read that it keeps fiber, based on my experience cold press juicer makes really homogeneous juice, there is no separate layers.. please let us know clearly about this. Thank you
I’m a big fan of smoothies. I have 2-4 a week. Juicing seems very impractical because you have to use a large amount of food to yield one glass of juice. It seems pretty wasteful as well as expensive.
You can still juice with a blender. Like with. All you do after blending is strain the fiber and then boom! You get juice. I do this with apples carrots celery beets parsley and ginger. It good and tastes the same as using a juicer. Also I don’t care what it tastes like. I just care about health
right?? i do this with my vitamix and use cloth strainer which is dryer than my juicer.. its up to you if you want to add water .. but i dont need to.. even the apple seeds are crushed finely.. it works fine
Great video doc ty. I have a rather odd question tho. What about doing both juicing and blending 50/50? Like when making green juice, use the greens part for blending and the other stuff for juicing and throw them together afterwards?
Hi Fadi. I have never put them in the same glass. Drinking both drinks in the same day is great. Sometimes if you use dark green vegetables they can taste bitter, so it might ruin the taste of a smoothie. We sometimes make green shooters because the taste is so bitter. If you juice some more neutral taste like romaine lettuce, cucumber or celery it would probably be good. Let me know if you play around with combining the two and how it taste.
Dr Ekberg, I don't blend or juice, I prefer to chew. I eat a lot of leafy greens and cruciferous. I'd like to know the safe amount of kale & spinach that I can consume daily. Thanks!
Dear sir,I just wanted to ask you a question.I don't juice fruits.just veggies.I don't do blending as if I blend them, its hard to drink.so my question is,if I juice veggies,am I getting all nutrients like blending?
not a big fan of juicing. i am insulin resistant , and they spike my blood glucose way too high. i think blending is much better option for most people due to the slower uptake of sugars. everyone is different and you should test what they will do to your own body. great info as always. love your content
When you juiced did you use a lot of veggies or did you use a lot of fruit? The more greens the better it is for you. We did juicing for awhile and did shots of the bitter greens.
i can't remember dr. sten, it was years ago. if i did a new n=1, i would try the bitter greens. that sounds way more healthier version. as far as i remember, i did random combinations of fruit and veg. i was getting bad stomach aches and very high B.G. some of the fruit or veg was not agreeing with me. i would rather just eat them whole. i no longer own juicer or blender. i just stick to my keto /IF. i do much better
@@drekberg How the heck do you juice green vegetables? I put Spinach, Kale and broccoli in my juicer and pretty much nothing comes out. The only green vegetables that work in a juicer is celery, cucumber, bell peppers, and maybe a few others.
apparently it makes the nutrients more accessible to our bodies. the only negative part is that as you ar not biting the food before going down you are losing all the digestive enzymes that get triggered from the mouth.
These videos are weird because juicing can mean a lot of things. Its like saying food is good or bad for you. It's completely meaningless. It's all about what you juice and it has many complementary benefits compared to blending and eating solid foods. Especially it's by far the best way to load up on alkaline, nutrient rich green foods compared to anything else. In my experience, I've been able to drastically increase my consumption of greens like celery, cucumber, zucchini vs. trying to consume them via smoothies alone. There is no way I can add a whole bunch of celery in a smoothie and have it still be drinkable. Again, it's all about nuance. Comparing juicing vs blending without these nuances is kind of misleading.
🙂 🙂🙂 Both methods are excellent for your health. Certainly both better than chugging down copious amounts of caffeine, energy drinks and coke cola. My personal preference is for juicing, as I feel it worked quicker and on a deeper cellular level (when I was clearing from psoriasis). I did both daily during that time, but the emphasis was on juice, as the more powerful tool. These days I blend daily, and have juice several times a week. Getting into juices and smoothies, has been beneficial life changing for me, over the past ten years. 🍇🍉🍊🍋🍍🥑🥒🥬🥦🥕

Is it ok to make a batch of juice and freeze some in baggies, then take a baggie out at night ready for the morning drink?
So even vegetables can throw you off Ketosis if they are juiced? I did not know vegetables had so much sugar! And to even effect diabetes. Wow.
Ahhh... I never knew the pros of Juicing. I just thought Blending was good and Juicing bad (because of the sugar concentration.)
Glad it was helpful. It is good to use a lot of green vegetables if you are going to juice, but you can get so much nutrition in juicing.

Are organic protein powder good or bad?
In beginning he said "juicing vs cleansing". Wasn't he suppose to say blending instead of cleansing?
Doctor how about people with GI issues. Bam, Gerd, IBS, Sibo? Too much fiber is very hard on GI.
