amazing as always , just wish they were longer, but i refuse to look a gift horse in the mouth - best cs on youtube - bar none!
Thanks! I'm sure there will be longer episodes in the future once we get to more complicated builds.
You know it’s a good day when Petrichor drops a new video 🙌🙌
never seen such a clean build in Cities Skylines. Looks amazing! Thank you for sharing.
Petrichor loves the SPUI more than any two people should 😁
yummy SPUI
7:27 ❤ i love first person drives
Nerdgasmic level of detailing!
So yeah that railway is still used to connect up a couple of ports north of Duluth served by Canadian National, but is also used for a summer heritage railway service by the North Shore Scenic Railroad up to Two Harbors. As for the highway, Irl I think one of my favorite goofy little spots is on the weird one-way sort-of ramp that connects the interchange just south of the SPUI with the SPUI, where it dips right and crosses the tracks really awkwardly lol. Great interchange, I can never get a SPUI looking good lol
The signs *are* rust! Its weathering steel, so the rust is on purpose. Usually it's a protection thing but I believe for Duluth it's for the aesthetic. Are you planning on doing a version of the freeway caps? That was always my favorite part of driving into town as a kid
I didn't feel like doing a frontage road system so I just totally ignored that weird ramp haha. Are freeway caps the buried/tunnel portions? If so, I have some plans for renovating the freeway to be more like that in the future.
@@PetrichorBuildsyeah the caps are the tunnel version, but they’re less tunnel and more surface highway that were built over
Always love a good infrastructure episode.
Such Beautiful work, I always enjoy watching your Videos:)
Yes great work. Thank you for thins inspiration and instructions how to build this. Have a great Time....😊🙋♂
Hello, glad to see cities skylines 1 modded players and content creators aren't extinct. Excited for more content 😊 Subscribed
Amazing work as always! I love the interstate and exit signs especially, but if you’re interested in adding realism, I have a couple suggestions. First, even numbered interstates always go East-West, so I-42 South wouldn’t really be possible. Also, interstates are numbered based on their relative geographic location with lower numbers to the south/west and higher numbers to the north/east. So if you’re aiming for Wisconsin/Minnesota region, you could use numbers like 37, 43, 39 etc. for north/south interstates and 98, 92, 88 etc for east/west interstates (multiples of 5 are saved for major interstates).
Of course, all this is totally extra, and the signs still look great either way!
Yeah I was aware of the numbering system, but I decided to go for funny number over realism in this case, haha. Glad you liked the build!
Great video my friend, I'm glad YT recommended this to me. Doing alot of CS2 content myself - I sort of forgot how cracked (and complex) the detailing was in CS1. I've NEVER been a good detailer, so I don't even bother haha. But, this is dedication; to make that interchange and all those signs!!!
Nyah
Great video!
Really enjoying your series! This makes me want to jump ingame myself.
Out of curiosity, how much time are you able to spend weekly on playing the game?
It really varies. Sometimes I don't play for a month, sometimes i play 8 hours in a night 🤣
It would look so good if you used billboards from the American billboard collection by conno
I have those installed, but will probably keep them more on the outskirts of town!
Honestly, it would be cool to see you attempt a Florida build like around the Tampa area. The details will almost be on par with the Todos Santos series
Florida would be fun, especially one of those canal suburbs!
@@PetrichorBuilds Coral Gables is the nicest one despite having fewer canals than most
Excellent work as always but if you're planning an interstate may I suggest I-37 or 39 if it's north-south and I-98 if it's east-west.
5:10 pretty sure you could have easily done these with IMT pavement, no?
I tried that, but there were two problems: 1) because of the way the intersection is shaped, I couldn't get the intersecting line to cut the straight across the pavement and 2) the filler would not reach all the way to the edge of the road on the outside. Maybe could get it to work fiddling with offsets, but PO gave me more precision and flexibility.
Whats amaranth bay transit based off?
which aspect of it? I've used a few different inspirations for different parts of it.
@@PetrichorBuilds like buses and rail
@@Br0nxfr For streetcars, the inspiration was the old Duluth Street Railway. Rolling stock is from the Twin Cities light rail and is branding based off Kansas City Streetcar. For intercity rail I'll go into detail on that in a future episode. For buses I'm not using any particular inspiration yet.
First, sorry
