I'm French, used to live in Paris for years, and discovered your channel today. I'm watching all of your arrondissement videos now, and I'm in awe! You've managed to find the best of every district of Paris, and the musical choice in the background is subtle and on point. Fantastic job! I'm going to share that with all my friends. I wish you all the best in France, and thank you for giving Paris such an elegant presentation.
I appreciated your "non je ne regrette rien" comment regarding your only getting four hours of sleep. It was a nice humorous reference to Edith Piaf. I have enjoyed all your videos on the arrondissements of Paris. Thank you both or should I say tout les trois.
Merci Oliver and Lina for the enjoyable, variety filled video!! I loved every moment, watched numerous times not to miss anything. I’ve followed you both approx two plus years and am impressed by your continued positive, upbeat, enlightening content. It is always presented with a smile - NEVER a ho-hum negative, stressed out moment. That says volumes about you both. I’m happy to be a Patreon member and excitedly look forward to upcoming arrondissements adventures. I realize your content takes dedicated thought, planning and work. SO I just want to say - take care of yourselves and I appreciate all you do for the many of us who love and miss Paris & France. 😃
Aw what a lovely thing to say Linda, thanks for the kind words and continued support :) Hope you like the rest of this season, I have a feeling you will!
oooh i am LOVING this new addition to the podcast!!! Thanks for coming back to youtube :) On my visit to Paris I bought a souvenir at a shop coming down from Sacre Coeur, a typical music box which coincidentally plays 'sous le ciel de Paris'. That part of the video made me well up a bit. Can't wait for the rest of the videos/arrondisements! xx
Well done Oliver and Lina. A great concept to share each arrondissement with us in some detail like this. So enjoyed the 20th - can't wait to see more. And lovely to see you are managing this as a family with young Otis!
Love your video.. music is wonderful!! Ohhhhh I’m ready to visit Paris.. Looking forward to your upcoming video’s and podcasts! Thank you for dreaming of Paris in Chicago..
It is normal that a site for tourists presents the usual spots, and you do go far beyond Belleville to other neighborhoods far from it. You could have mentioned, say, La Flêche d'Or and other social/musical/political places. This area has a long history of activism. A famous resident was Lucio Urtubia, a recent anarchist. There are also things you could have added about Père Lachaise like Le Mur des Fédérés which has historical importance. There is also the tomb of Victor Noir which is important in folklore. Etc. I wish there were sites that were more adventurous.
