  • This week I built a Table from an old Slap of Hardwood that i bought 2 years ago on ebay.
Thank You Rockler for supporting this Project!
I though it was Mahogany but working with the slab i figured it´s probably Padauk.
This build was a lot more time consuming than i expected. It took me 7 days to finish it. totally worth every minute of work if you ask me :)

Another great project with so many different woodworking techniques... But above all, another true example of how a video should be made. Great variety of shots and angles, excellent feel for rythm in the editing. Love the use of shallow depth of field. Really well made Laura! I like your style.

I love padauk, but the dust gets everywhere. Gorgeous result. I am normally not a fan of sapwood, but you used it here to great affect. I'd love to see it again in about 1-2 years to see the colour change as it ages. Great job, Laura!

The grain and color of the wood along with the style you chose for this piece makes it look like a well preserved antique. I don't know about you, but I would be very nervous cutting wood of that color since the only blood red wood I've worked on was red because I was careless.
