Howard Croston does a really good upstream nymph video, he talks about getting down deeper by casting slightly further upstream, which gives the nymph a wee bit more time to get down. Makes sense. I like fishing upstream nymph, as I prefer casting a fly line to tight line stuff, really.
@@FLYRUN-Fishing Agreed, on the right water it's excellent. He uses a coiled up piece of mono as his indicator, means you can fish a wee bit further upstream and see the takes.

I'll have to go check it out! For some reason fishing books like to make out like fishing the upstream nymph is a dark art
