I just tested my true alert today. U were my inspiration btw with these videos so thanks. But anyways I realized it's a fire alarm brand to so I find that pretty cool anyways thanks for the inspiration.
Mine (not the same model but same brand with the carbon monoxide, strobe + fire alarm combine) keeps false alarming EVERY TWO HOURSSSSSS how do I reset it? Do I have to take it off the ceiling to press a button behind? It's brand new (under 1 year) and just started giving us issues this month. Battery is built in.
Yeah, I know that. It's pretty crazy that those models have this feature, but it's definitely an easier way to test a smoke alarm if it's mounted on a high ceiling. Maybe when I come back here someday, I'll do a video where I test three out of the four units using a flashlight.
You guys do not have correct coverage. First of all, the smoke alarms in the cabin may be more than 10 years old. Second of all, there is no smoke alarm in the hallway. Third of all, they must be interconnected.
Hmmm, interesting. I didn't know waving a flashlight could activate a First Alert smoke alarm. Maybe I'll try doing that the next time I come back up here.
@@Blurain727 Also make sure to wear some ear protection if you're testing the alarm. Don't be stupid like me, i just got the alarm and wanted to test how it sounds.. Damn i might have damaged my ear, it hurts a lot and i can hear less..

Re5rrrt 6:32 what is

Those are very rare. The i9040 definitely looks like a replacement, still good test though.
Yeah, escape lights are definitely something you don't often see on smoke alarms.

Hi, but are you aware that you can test the SA150B or any smoke alarm with Light Test with an flashlight

I have 4 wired smoke detectors and when one goes on they all go on. Problem is the lights are not coming on. I have no idea why.

they do not need to be interconnected. you just need proper coverage, one in every room and hallway.
My house has smoke alarms in hallways and mini horn/strobes in sleeping rooms. 2-family house
You can wave a flashlight under the first alert detectors to test them.

@@ElevatorDog100 Just keep this in mind: Use an incandescent light not an LED one. Using an LED one will not work.
@@ElevatorDog100 also make sure to replace smoke alarms every 10 years. Because if you don't, the alarm won't detect smoke well
@@Blurain727 not all alarms fail after 10 years because i have a 25-30 year old mastercraft smoke alarm and it still detects smoke perfectly
