long way home is literally their most underrated song. I don’t understand why that song isn’t one of their all time best hits because to me it is. It’s so overlooked. I’m thinking it’s probably because it was the last song on the Shangri-La Dee Da album and the band broke up for 5 years before they got back together again. It may not one of the better songs of Scott singing but Rob is making those bass notes astonishing and That solo at the end by Dean is just so riveting and amazing that makes it a masterpiece of a true rock and roll song.
I've watched and studied em all and this dude for my money might be the best of the best. Underrated as all hell and just totally absorbed always. He gives more. And gets more. RIP
the videos scattered all over youtube from this concert are all master pieces, they SHOULD release this as an album and dvd. LOOK HOW MANY FUCKING PEOPLE THERE ARE THERE
Props to Robert and Eric for being one of the best rhythm sections in rock and roll. The song never sounds empty when Dean busts out his lead lines. That's tough to do without a rhythm guitar.
Happy 55th Birthday Scott, you beautiful genius. May you find some peace in your eternal rest. I hope you find that long way home. Thank you so much for everything buddy.
Yes, blownirocz, one of my top favorite guitar solos too. I am also VERY fond of the solo in "Silver Gun Superman." They don't make front men like Scott anymore. Such a GD shame to lose him. On the bright side, I honestly thought that this moment would have come years/decades ago so we can be appreciative that he was able to, and did, produce so much material over the years. Hearts out to his friends and family who loved him. R.I.P. Scott.
Just proves a band does not have to quick temo riff of a song. Heavy and steady is what made this band's reputation. Really a trio of incredible talent creating an unbreakable wall of sound
We were right up front on Rob's side. I've been to dozens of great shows over the years (including probably 10 or so STP concerts) and this was certainly one of the absolute greatest. Drugs or not, performance-wise Scott was at his absolute peak. All the other bands there killed it too. Hotter than crap that day, I don't know how those guys on stage did it! They showed this on Pay-per-view around the time of the show, and I VHS-ed it, but lost my tape :((( Thank god for youtube!
I have been looking for this amazing song. Scott sings this song with a lot of passion. I understand why. Thanks Scott Weiland, RIP for the music and efforts that I've seen. from you.
The sheer style alone of Dean Deleo is so unique that he stands in a class of his own. He has an aura of uncertainty to his solos, meaning that he searches for notes from his heart, and he finds them, in odd places, outside the box, and sometimes almost out of key, but that ferocious downward bend of his turns wrong into right. He gets more expression from his downward bends, and general bendy style, than most guys with a Floyd Rose do. He never spends too much time in a pentatonic box, either. And that tone --- god, that tone! What a legendary player.
Last two albums they had were criminally underrated. Kiss this era of creativity goodbye, kiddos. It's all about lean, perc, xanax, and becoming a brand.
@tray92 I agree! I LOVE every single performance I have seen from Rolling Rock and would pay good money to have a DVD and album from this. It is fucking amazing!
Damn you Dean! You are just too underrated and Robert as Well... But thats fine, a band is like a TEAM! And I guess that the shadow that Scott makes was very big and it´s gonna be bigger now that he is gone! RIP SCOTT WEILAND! Contragulations for Jeff Gutt, he is SO GOOD!
Poor Scott boy was so strung out here, during his I think I'm Bowie phase. Sounds horrible. If this is your first time discovering STP, PLEASE listen to the song Atlanta & their first 4 albums. Scott can sing, with hauntingly beautiful Morrison'esq vocals & poetry. Miss you my friend. I met Scott during one of my & his stunts in rehab in 02', the year Layne died & Scott was really turn up, & stayed friends ever since his death. Watching this makes my heart hurt, for this is the tour I couldn't continue to follow. Watching your slow suicide is something I could not continue doing, even though I relapsed anyway.Been clean & sober since Oct 6, 2015. So wish you were still here to experience with me what it feels like to finally let go of that demon and live a life full of light & peace. But you are already experiencing this from above, just wish you could of at least a little longer here. Miss you my dear friend ✌️💗🤗
Who's still rockin' to this awesome tune in 2024?

I was there.
I'll put my life on him being best front man ever.
Jeff you are my hero. No one laid it on the line 99% of every show he ever did like Scotty. Miss him like crazy.
I've watched and studied em all and this dude for my money might be the best of the best. Underrated as all hell and just totally absorbed always. He gives more. And gets more. RIP
He was an excellent vocalist too.
Too bad he let the devil collect his due.
AGREED
This was a great show.
That solo is a work of art.
Gives me chills
Dean just casually dropping the best guitar solo of his career
Dean is a monster of guitar, best solo ever!
Dean "Perry" DeLeo, for their approach with Aerosmith.
Dbomb Danny the solo in this song always reminded me of Jimmy Page. Joe Perry, not so much😂
Dbomb Danny send it🤙🏻
who's better than joe Perry Brad Whitford might be better than Joe Perry
@@johnborowski4235
I hear mostly Led Zeppelin and Blue Oyster Cult
THAT SOLO RIPS OUT THE HEART...
the videos scattered all over youtube from this concert are all master pieces, they SHOULD release this as an album and dvd. LOOK HOW MANY FUCKING PEOPLE THERE ARE THERE
Everyone is stellar in this....every bit as good as the studio version. So amazing to see Scott when he was really “on”....
this is dean's best solo. just perfection. this song is so sick.
Dean Deleo, EPIC guitar artist! 💜🎶🎸
Amen to that
Props to Robert and Eric for being one of the best rhythm sections in rock and roll. The song never sounds empty when Dean busts out his lead lines. That's tough to do without a rhythm guitar.
I love slash but it's incriminating that he always has to have a second guitarist. Dean does all the work on his own
I love that solo. Dean is awesome.
how do 8 people not like this? Freakin Epic!!!
now 14? sad shit
Poor mouse control. I'm sure they were aiming for the thumb's up. That's the only logical explanation.
Scott Weiland RIP legend, seven years now (3rd December 2015), gone but a long way from being forgotten ❤
I remember way back when this playing on my satellite. I just happened to be tripping on mushrooms and stumbled on this by accident. Great show.
I love this song, and Deans solo makes it perfect! 💜🎸🎶
Happy 55th Birthday Scott, you beautiful genius. May you find some peace in your eternal rest. I hope you find that long way home. Thank you so much for everything buddy.
one of my favorite guitar solos.
What a showman that dude was. He got that Jim Morrison swagger, yet different. Damn RIP my man.
omg I conquer. Soo much feel. Coolest solo ever. DD is amazing.
I miss you music man, rest in peace!
Finally home Scott. Sleep peacefully 💔

This one was echoing through my head this morning. I couldn't place it until it finally clicked: all roads lead back to STP.
This solo is freaking EPIC!!!!

What a masterpiece, mysterious/ hypnotic smooth drums wicked bass and that solo by Dean 😮
I love the freedom Dean had at the end of this song to perform one of his best solos since Trippin on a Hole.

Hi Scott... :(

O solo de guitarra dessa música é foda demais .. putz , maior saudade cara dessa banda ... que época! Uma banda que sempre vai existir em meu coração
The sheer style alone of Dean Deleo is so unique that he stands in a class of his own. Sin palabras! fantastico!
tremendo solo! Dean la rompe!
I agree. Days of the Week was different for a STP song and was not a good choice of a single to expect to get a lot of airplay.
One of my fav STP songs!
parece que essa música foi feita para aquele solo, e não o solo para ela, perfect!!!!!!!!
