I always noticed freeze drying anything canned have a metallic taste one done, doesn't matter the brand, ive found best is buy pre frozen, but u gota letnit thaw over night completely, rinse it well then tray it (pre freeze it if u want) then put it through the freeze dyer turn out 100% correctly no hard center, no imploded honeycomb center or anything

They are charging $425 for the medium rack. Plus you have to buy extra 5 tray pack.

Hi , have you ever tried plums, they are very tasty too, i cut into 1/4 slices been doing lots of those lately bumper crop this year. I guess you can get a 5 tray rack for your freeze drier that works in the older units, you have to call them i heard.

I have been wanting to freeze dry jello and haven’t yet! It looks like it would be a crunchy tasty treat. I bet you could freeze dry the salad version too!

It’s NEVER too early for holiday foods.We do holiday dinners through out the year,our family has family meals together. I am not a pineapple pizza fan.

Harvest Right has a New Software Version out (the v5.X.25). When I updated mine last night to v5.1.25 the Screen went from showing me v5.1.24 (in the top right) to "5.1" - I was confused, so I clicked on the top right corner where the "5.1" version was displayed & it showed me that I have v."5.1.25d" - It appears that Harvest Right doesn't want to show the complete software version (on the screen like they used too) unless you click on it to show it. Hope this helps.

UPDATE 9/5/23 Here is the Response from Harvest Right as I sent them a Message about the recent .25 Software Update: With all other software updates, it said the full software number. However, with this latest one, it is too long to display the full number that it just does two numbers, such as 5.1. you received. I agree we should note somewhere that the full number can be found by clicking on the smaller number. I have passed that on to management to hopefully get that updated. If your screen shows "5.1.25d" Then yes, it is that software version.

Overnight - but 24 hours is probably better
I’m sure everyone comes to watch a video for different reasons and I only present this as feedback from one person but 18 minutes for me to see how canned pineapple turns out and eight minutes in I’m stopping the video because I still don’t know if it tasted bad, tasted good, reconstitutes well or not. Sometimes you don’t need 18 minutes.
