I like to believe that when Revan died, he finally saw Bastilla again. I don’t know exactly how the “Force Afterlife” works, but come on, the man was kept alive for 300 YEARS and left his family to face the darkness, never seeing them in person again! He earned that much, in my book. A great song as always, Kim.
In my scenerio when he is dying from his wounds he first regrets for his close friend Malak for turns to darkside and blames himself for not protect him and he thinks darkness will takes him too but in his last seconds Bastila's Force Ghost appeals to him and he says to her to forgive him for left her alone with his unborn son and Bastila says "I already forgive you the day you left, now come home, your duty is ended" with that Revan close his eyes with joy and becomes one with the force and he finally stays with his love and there son.
That's something I hoped happened when Revan did eventually get the death he had no doubt wanted for over 300 years...I guess we can only hope that they did meet again in whatever counts as an afterlife with the Force. At least Revan got to see his and Bastila's descendants in Sateale and Theron...regardless of what version of Revan it was at the time.
@@96762LaieBoy Honestly I kind of like it that way. Mirrors reality...Like somehow Star Wars balances that line of ghosts existing but there not really *being* an answer. Heck, the ghosts might be the Force manipulating your perception considering others can't see them. Who really knows?
The saddest part of all this? Revan and Bastilla never reunited she had to raise their son alone and grow old while Revan was frozen in time. For all his mistakes in the way he handled the war revan was still the important figure of his era, holding off the emperor for 300 years to buy the republic time is nothing short of heroic. Without him vitiate would have wiped out the republic around 10 years after KOTOR 2
In the end at least, when Revan finally became one with the Force, he would reunite with Bastila. That was something Ben Skywalker noted, that force users always have that certainty they'll see each other again, like Ben knew he'd see his mother Mara again. And as the redemption of the ghost of Ajunta Pall showed... even when you are One with the Force you are still an individual as Ajunta recognized his old master. For Revan and Bastila the mortal years they lived would pale in comparison to the eternity that awaits them now. So it was a happy end for both.

I agree. But what would be best, is if they made an 8 movie saga. The first three about Revan, but he turns to the dark side at the end. The next 3 about the Exile. The next one about the Mandalorian Wars, then the final movie, when it all comes together. And the Exile and Revan come head to head.
No. Revan is written in such a way that he is best when left up to the observers interpretation. He has no personality until the book and swtor (which butcher what made the story special in the first place)

I believe that even after Bastila’s death, their force connection lasted and when Revan became the heart of the Force, they saw each other again. Bastila would tell him how their son had grown up and about how she had missed and dreamed about her husband all this time. And Revan would take her in his arms and finally realize that what he felt right there, in that moment, was the only thing which makes life worth living
To understand the story of Bastilla and Revan, is to understand love, to understand the light and the dark, and to understand that one cannot exist without the other
The best Star Wars story ever told, plain and simple folks. The love, twist and turns. Hardships along the journey, truly there isn’t anything like Kotor. If there ever was a perfect Star Wars story, then it’s this not the films.
Samuel, I was thinking how awesome it would be if you tried to create an original theme for Mara Jade - probably with elements of the Imperial Theme, the Emperor's Theme, the Second Sister/Inquisitors theme and Luke Skywalker's Theme to show the pull between the darkness and light Mara experiences as both the Emperor's Hand and her connection to Luke. Maybe if it goes well you could also do a Luke Skywalker vs Mara Jade/Love Theme as a follow up? Just an idea anyway.

The saying you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain is a perfect saying in my opinion as it shows that evil rises no matter what but good always rises to counter it.

bastila was my favorite character from kotor and even today she stands above all the rest in my mind. Her sin was pride and through her arrogance she fell to the dark side, but it was her love for revan that saved her. Her development was truly amazing for the time
KOTOR is a simulation. Just like the simulations! In my 17-playthroughs, Bastilla actually man-fought Malak, instead of being-kidnapped. That story-arc never manifested for myself, no-wise! ∆ This causes one to wonder why that story arc, is so common.

I’d rather Respawn make a remake of this game rather than a sequel game to Jedi Fallen Order. That game was written as a stand alone, but for some reason...EA wants to do more. Omfg.
This is how I imagined Revan's light and dark side coming together when he was defeated on Yavin IV: As the two sides joined in harmony his physical body vanished, echoes were sent throughout the force bearing the weight of a thousand worlds. Revan was no more. He was one with the force. Although he was a force ghost, his consciousness was still drifting through the void trying to make sense of what has happened. Mere seconds felt like ages and the surrounding darkness seemed like it would never end. Screams would penetrate the emptiness of his mind, screams of those he killed, of those he made suffer, screams of entire worlds coming to an end, voices of past people passing judgment on the monstrosities he has done. Among those screams he was able to distinguish one very faint voice, one that seemed so familiar, one that he has not heard in centuries. As the voice became more and more predominant among the chaos, it whispered: “You are not afraid of love anymore?” In an instant, all the screams stopped, an overwhelming silence set in. A light silhouette was forming in front of him. As it was becoming more and more visible the silhouette was that of a young woman, beautiful, with gray eyes, fair skin color and brown hair. Then it suddenly started growing old, the wrinkles started to appear as the hair shifted its color to gray. The beauty however, remained. “I know you, Revan said. It has been such a long time but I could never forget...Bastilla?” “It is me.”, Bastilla said while smiling. Then Revan’s ghost form started taking shape and the void has suddenly turned into an infinite green field of which end you could not see. Bastilla and Revan started walking towards each other both of them smiling and radiating with a light that could blind even the sun. Once they got close, they paused, and after a brief moment of gazing upon each other they shared a hug and tears started pouring from their eyes. No words were spoken, not because they had nothing to say to each other, but because none were needed. All they needed was a moment of peace and quiet… After a few moments Bastilla said “I never thought I’d see you again, I dreamt of you every single night of my life” “I’m sorry”, Revan replied then he looked down upon her and said “I now know why the dark side consumed me the first time” and he started staring deeply into her eyes “...it was because I didn’t have you” Bastilla then raised her hand and slowly wiped the tears off his face saying “Your quest is not yet finished, your descendants are in need of your help” Before he could say anything she added “I will be here for you always, my love” The world around him then started to crumble and before he could realize it he was all alone again, but he knew he had to press on, to help the people be rid of the dark emperor once and for all.
My point is Revan and Meetra should be allowed to stay dead with the rest of their friends and families instead of being brought back repeatedly as a way to attract fans and make cash.
Bastila and Revan are my OTP in the Star Wars universe, including both Legends and Disney EU. I think, despite how controversial it was, Disney really could have made something great with Rey and Ben's romance if only they'd advertised it better and had a clear goal in mind. Instead, they tried juggling so many things to please everyone while somehow shooting themselves in the foot. I hope Disney never touches Bastila and Revan's story.

Revan is actually canon now, or at least the existence of a man named Revan back in the old republic. I think it’d be pretty cool if they did some a KOTOR trilogy. Say what you will about the sequels, but Disney has done a good job with the stuff they’ve taken from legends to canon, like thrawn and aspects of mandalorian culture.
Revan story would take 9 movies to tell properly. 3 for the Mandalorian wars n his fall, 3 for his redemption, and 3 for the rise of Meetra Serik to carry on his legacy.
@@BeskarDevil Well, that's super few. They didn't even put Thrawn into the right era so to say. Also, I don't remember the Mandalorians as pacifists in KotOR era - considering their Clone Wars arc. Disney did *not need* to take anything from the EU to canon because it was *already* canon back then. Now it's more likely admitting their failure of telling original stories. So rather than creating new things, they cherrypick some of the old stuff that succeeded, alter it a bit, and sell it as their own. I would not call it good job.
KOTOR is one of these cases where something is more something than the original. For me, Kotor will always be more Star Wars than any episode, video game or recreation. Kotor is the purest and most beautiful Star Wars ever made.
I've seen some comments about it, but I felt it should be said , Revans power, his immense strength. It came from emotion, he did not forgo physical attachment as the jedi did, nor did he let his anger control him as the Sith did. He found a... balance, in Bastille. He found, that control of ones emotions, not forbidding them, but controlling them, is what leads to power, and his love for Bastille, I always liked to think that was his fuel. If I'm wrong pls say, I'm a novice to Revan, I'm strong in the ways of cannon, but a mere Padwan in the deep and ancient ways of Ledgends
That pretty much sums up his driving force after he tries to end Vitiate a second time, gets captured and tortured for 300 years and still manages to manipulate Vitiate into a cold-war with the Republic. There was a form of "peace", but as we all know Peace is a lie when it comes to the Empire.
Revan and Bastilla really shows that attachment and love can be a thing in the Jedi Order ...love is what makes Revan and Bastilla stay strong in the light and it makes them much more stronger and devoted .. Wish they will make a remaster or remake of KOTOR in HD ...this game is a gem and still is today
(Inspired by this piece, I typed like a madman. Thank you Samuel Kim and hope you all like this thing I typed up.) In a moment, Bastilla felt the sudden severing agony so intense she dropped to her knees. So similar to the burning strike of a saber, but it rips through her soul, tears through her mind and leaves her numb. Like she had been torn in half. Because she had been. Somewhere, she knew. Revan was dead. All the faith Revan had placed in the Force, and yet she knew one fear always kept him up at night. The Force would make him pay for the innocent lives he took as the servant of the Sith. It finally happened, at the hands of his old masters. But why? Bastilla clenched her fists in anguish as tears began to fall hot from her eyes. Why did the Force have to be so cruel? Couldn't it forgive? Why make her love if only to tear him from her? What kind of terror is this "Balance" that would leave widows and orphan... She gasped as she realized in her moment of collapse she hadn't been hearing the small cries echoing from the small bassinet in their home. She rose up and ran to their son. Vaner's cries screamed horribly. It wasn't the cry of a child that wanted food or comfort. It was the desperate cry of a child for his father, and knew - despite the fact he seemed to not have his father's gift in the Force - that his father was gone. Taken away. Forever. Bastilla swept up the baby, blanket and all, into her arms as they wept. The child clung to its mother and the mother to him, as she vainly tried to reach out for any sign of their lost family. The more she thought, the greater the weight of despair. Not of the sorrow that mourning could cope, but long, cold years ahead made of endless days and isolated nights. So quickly it turned to anger. She should have stayed a Sith. What did the Light offer, if it meant nothing but miseries in life? She cursed herself for not being strong enough, and for not following Revan to his last stand. She cursed Revan for rejecting the twisted arts that, maybe, could have saved him. And she cursed the Force who ruined their lives just to make some cruel point. "In the end, you belong to neither the light nor the darkness. You will forever stand alone." But then Bastilla heard Vaner stop crying. Something as clear, radiant and sharp as the first sliver of sunlight on the horizon pierced so deeply. A presence. Love of a particular kind so warm and so fierce...it could only be him. All at once, the grief she felt - which still remained - felt so small and so finite. She knew that Revan had found the new way that he was looking for, had discovered the missing strength of the Light of the Force. The gift that the Force had meant for her all along. Revan's presence would stay with her, warning her cold, lonely hours and sweetening every bitterness she tasted. This was the ultimate power of the Light that the Darkness could never offer: Eternity. And she knew, when she had raised Vaner to be a good man and her wintering years would call her off the mortal coil, she would be with Revan again, forever. The Force was harsh...but it was so kind as well. Balance. The realization swelled up ironic joy in her heart so suddenly she gave a tearful laugh in spite of herself. The door suddenly opened, and in came Jolee Bindo, looking older, wiser and sharper than he already had when they first met. "Bastilla...is he...?" She nodded. "He is." But she could tell by the look on Jolee's face that he too felt the same presence she could. In the glimmer of sun through the window, Bastilla could swear she saw a thinly glowing visage of a man in robes, bright as a solar aurora, his smiling face no longer hidden by the mask he bore. "Your father loves you, Vaner," Bastilla said, holding her child close. "And he always will." *There is death, yet there is the Force.*
I keep coming back to this one. KOTOR holds a special place in my heart, and these two characters and their stories are so visceral and human. This song, this blending of their individual themes, it's angelic and beautiful. It's hope and light amid the darkness. Bravo Samuel Kim.

Revan's an actual chad. He hand-built and programmed an insanely funny, badass killer droid, aided Canderous in rebuilding the Mandalorian people, and even fought against Emperor Vitiate, so that Bastila and their child could live a life without issues. While it was at the cost of him being imprisoned within the Maelstrom for 300 years, he actually succeeded in doing this, as even though he sadly wasn't Force-Sensitive, Vaner went on to enter the political system and even run for Chancellor, whether or not he actually became, we have no idea..

I hate how TOR did Revan. As much as I love the game I can't stand what they did to him. In my mind the Jedi Knight is Revan after he is freed from stasis.

I may be the only one, but I've always considered Revan and Bastila the Beren and Lúthien of Star Wars. In fact, I imagine songs about their eternal love sung by Jedi troubadour Tionne in Luke Skywalker's Jedi praxeum.

15 years since I first played KOTOR (I have a habit of finding the good things a bit late) and I can still say it's at the top of my favourite Star Wars games list and still a beloved favourite game of any genre I've played since. There is no greater joy than the telling or watching of a good story.
He slowly opens his eyes. All he remembers seeing was a bright white flash after a grueling final duel with his own dark reflection who wanted nothing but total revenge for all those who had wronged him. He slowly stands up while groaning for a short bit before he gets a good look at his surroundings. Around him was a featureless white plain with a growing mist that obscured his vision. Above him he could see two large moons orbiting whatever planet he was on and dotted around them were thousands upon thousands of stars that dazzled with bright light. The bright light of the moons reflected on the Planet's surface like a mirror which gave it it's distinctive white glow. He takes a few steps forward while trying to understand his current situation. Where was he exactly? Had he finally become one with the Force? And that this is the afterlife that awaits all Jedi? He didn't want to jump to conclusions straight away so he continued on. As he walked, he feels that the Force is strong on this world and he feels it's presence tugging on him. As if it was leading him somewhere but the question is: to where exactly? He continued on all while allowing the Force to guide him. As he walked he feels the Force's presence become stronger and stronger. Almost as if something... or someone else is in this place. Wanting to find out more, he tries to find the source of the Force's unnatural strong presence, every step taking him ever so closer. As the mist begins to lighten a bit, he can just make out a human figure in the distance. It has a slim profile so he thought the figure must be female. Curious, he moved closer and as he did, the mist started to dissipate and he could see the mysterious figure more clearly now. It couldn't be... It can't be who it is that stands before him. He recognized it even from a good distance away. The brown hair tied to a tail, the grey eyes that he had long missed seeing, the fair colored skin and most of all the face of the woman he cared for above all else. He slowly walks towards her, the mist completely dissipating as he did. He could finally see that it was indeed her. The one he had rescued from the gangs of Taris, The one he trained and fought alongside with to find out who he really was, the one he had redeemed from the Dark Side's corruption and the one he had confessed his feelings for. The woman he had left behind and promised to return home but failed to do so leaving wondering what had happened to him and thus leaving her alone and die from grief. The female figure then slowly turns towards him and looks in stunned silence at the man that lies before her. He could see the very same outfit she wore when they fought alongside each other and she the same robes he wore when he had a become a Jedi once more. She then starts to tear up on one eye than the other and she started stepping towards the man standing in front of her. Memories started to flood the man's mind. Memories of pain, happiness, triumph, sadness and sorrow. Ones that he had shared alongside her throughout his life and endured thanks to her. Slowly, he walks towards the love of his life all while trying to hold back the tears from his eyes but... it was too much for him. While his tears hadn't fall yet, the expression on his face says it all. He was speechless and as was she. The two continued to walk towards each other until the they were close enough to touch each other. They both stared each other in silence, eyes staring back for what seemed like an eternity comprehending each other's presence. "R-Revan?" the woman broke the silence. Raising her hand in the process. Her voice was breathless and she continued to draw tears. The man grabs the woman's raised hand and smiles back at her. He then curls his other hand at the woman's left cheek, her skin as soft and elegant as he remembered, wiping the tears away in the process. The woman starts to blush as her heart starts to beat faster than ever. She then remembers the time when he admitted his true feelings to her and the Dark Side's grip loosening on her which ended up bringing her back to the Light. She placed her right hand on the man's shoulder almost to the point of embracing him. They start to feel just how strong the bond in the Force is between them and they inched closer and closer to one another. "Revan... It's you!" the woman said. Her voice cracking from the mixture of happiness and sadness. "Yes. It is me. My Love" Revan answered back. His hand continuing to wipe away the tears from his lover's face. He then let go of her hand and placed his around the curved abdomen of his lover and in return his lover placed her hand around his back. It was then, that Revan started to cry too for he had felt the regret of leaving his love behind without coming back all while the Galaxy had to suffer from conflict. Now? He was now one with the Force with her. And in the end that's all that mattered to him and to her and that they would be one with The Force together. Bounded by their eternal love. Their time as Guardians of Peace and Heroes of the Galaxy might be over but their deeds are never forgotten and they will remembered for saving the Galaxy from impending doom. They then leaned closer to each other until they were mere inches from one another. "You love me til the end?" the woman said while breaking a smile "I do love you. Always Bastila... Always" the man simply replied (1:18) They both closed their eyes and their lips meet and they kissed each other for a quiet moment in time.
This music is good, it shows and says that Revan and bastila have been together, throughout hard times but always staying together, enduring it together. It is a music full of love and tragic events and shows the light and dark side of the story they have experienced.
This song is so beautiful. And what’s more is it reminds me of Dantooine, where Revan and Bastila first started to fall in love. Dantooine is my favorite planet bc it reminds me of Kansas, home. The plains, the small hills and caves, the farmer aesthetic, it reminds me of a lot of places like Idaho or Montana too, but mostly when I hear this song it makes me feel safe, like I’m back home. I honestly wish that Revan and Bastila settled down there, they could’ve lived in peace.
There story to me is a worthy competitor to Anakin and Padmes tragic love story as well................ We deserve a series/trilogy on the old republic...............

I like to believe that when Revan died, he finally saw Bastilla again. I don’t know exactly how the “Force Afterlife” works, but come on, the man was kept alive for 300 YEARS and left his family to face the darkness, never seeing them in person again! He earned that much, in my book. A great song as always, Kim.
In my scenerio when he is dying from his wounds he first regrets for his close friend Malak for turns to darkside and blames himself for not protect him and he thinks darkness will takes him too but in his last seconds Bastila's Force Ghost appeals to him and he says to her to forgive him for left her alone with his unborn son and Bastila says "I already forgive you the day you left, now come home, your duty is ended" with that Revan close his eyes with joy and becomes one with the force and he finally stays with his love and there son.
That's something I hoped happened when Revan did eventually get the death he had no doubt wanted for over 300 years...I guess we can only hope that they did meet again in whatever counts as an afterlife with the Force. At least Revan got to see his and Bastila's descendants in Sateale and Theron...regardless of what version of Revan it was at the time.

The saddest part of all this? Revan and Bastilla never reunited she had to raise their son alone and grow old while Revan was frozen in time. For all his mistakes in the way he handled the war revan was still the important figure of his era, holding off the emperor for 300 years to buy the republic time is nothing short of heroic. Without him vitiate would have wiped out the republic around 10 years after KOTOR 2

In the end at least, when Revan finally became one with the Force, he would reunite with Bastila. That was something Ben Skywalker noted, that force users always have that certainty they'll see each other again, like Ben knew he'd see his mother Mara again. And as the redemption of the ghost of Ajunta Pall showed... even when you are One with the Force you are still an individual as Ajunta recognized his old master. For Revan and Bastila the mortal years they lived would pale in comparison to the eternity that awaits them now. So it was a happy end for both.
Yeah, the son-phenomenon is one possible projection towards the future.

I believe that even after Bastila’s death, their force connection lasted and when Revan became the heart of the Force, they saw each other again. Bastila would tell him how their son had grown up and about how she had missed and dreamed about her husband all this time. And Revan would take her in his arms and finally realize that what he felt right there, in that moment, was the only thing which makes life worth living

Samuel, I was thinking how awesome it would be if you tried to create an original theme for Mara Jade - probably with elements of the Imperial Theme, the Emperor's Theme, the Second Sister/Inquisitors theme and Luke Skywalker's Theme to show the pull between the darkness and light Mara experiences as both the Emperor's Hand and her connection to Luke. Maybe if it goes well you could also do a Luke Skywalker vs Mara Jade/Love Theme as a follow up? Just an idea anyway.

The saying you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain is a perfect saying in my opinion as it shows that evil rises no matter what but good always rises to counter it.

bastila was my favorite character from kotor and even today she stands above all the rest in my mind. Her sin was pride and through her arrogance she fell to the dark side, but it was her love for revan that saved her. Her development was truly amazing for the time

In my 17-playthroughs, Bastilla actually man-fought Malak, instead of being-kidnapped. That story-arc never manifested for myself, no-wise! ∆

This is how I imagined Revan's light and dark side coming together when he was defeated on Yavin IV:
As the two sides joined in harmony his physical body vanished, echoes were sent throughout the force bearing the weight of a thousand worlds. Revan was no more. He was one with the force.
Although he was a force ghost, his consciousness was still drifting through the void trying to make sense of what has happened. Mere seconds felt like ages and the surrounding darkness seemed like it would never end.
Screams would penetrate the emptiness of his mind, screams of those he killed, of those he made suffer, screams of entire worlds coming to an end, voices of past people passing judgment on the monstrosities he has done.
Among those screams he was able to distinguish one very faint voice, one that seemed so familiar, one that he has not heard in centuries. As the voice became more and more predominant among the chaos, it whispered:
“You are not afraid of love anymore?”
In an instant, all the screams stopped, an overwhelming silence set in. A light silhouette was forming in front of him. As it was becoming more and more visible the silhouette was that of a young woman, beautiful, with gray eyes, fair skin color and brown hair. Then it suddenly started growing old, the wrinkles started to appear as the hair shifted its color to gray. The beauty however, remained.
“I know you, Revan said. It has been such a long time but I could never forget...Bastilla?”
“It is me.”, Bastilla said while smiling.
Then Revan’s ghost form started taking shape and the void has suddenly turned into an infinite green field of which end you could not see. Bastilla and Revan started walking towards each other both of them smiling and radiating with a light that could blind even the sun. Once they got close, they paused, and after a brief moment of gazing upon each other they shared a hug and tears started pouring from their eyes.
No words were spoken, not because they had nothing to say to each other, but because none were needed. All they needed was a moment of peace and quiet…
After a few moments Bastilla said “I never thought I’d see you again, I dreamt of you every single night of my life”
“I’m sorry”, Revan replied then he looked down upon her and said “I now know why the dark side consumed me the first time” and he started staring deeply into her eyes “...it was because I didn’t have you”
Bastilla then raised her hand and slowly wiped the tears off his face saying “Your quest is not yet finished, your descendants are in need of your help”
Before he could say anything she added “I will be here for you always, my love”
The world around him then started to crumble and before he could realize it he was all alone again, but he knew he had to press on, to help the people be rid of the dark emperor once and for all.
Thank God Vitiate is finally dead for good. Now Revan and Meetra can enjoy their rest. Until they are brought back for cash of course.
More like their descendants, since you had Grandmaster Shan and Theron Shan.
My point is Revan and Meetra should be allowed to stay dead with the rest of their friends and families instead of being brought back repeatedly as a way to attract fans and make cash.

Bastila and Revan are my OTP in the Star Wars universe, including both Legends and Disney EU. I think, despite how controversial it was, Disney really could have made something great with Rey and Ben's romance if only they'd advertised it better and had a clear goal in mind. Instead, they tried juggling so many things to please everyone while somehow shooting themselves in the foot. I hope Disney never touches Bastila and Revan's story.

Revan is actually canon now, or at least the existence of a man named Revan back in the old republic.
I think it’d be pretty cool if they did some a KOTOR trilogy. Say what you will about the sequels, but Disney has done a good job with the stuff they’ve taken from legends to canon, like thrawn and aspects of mandalorian culture.
Revan story would take 9 movies to tell properly. 3 for the Mandalorian wars n his fall, 3 for his redemption, and 3 for the rise of Meetra Serik to carry on his legacy.
@@BeskarDevil Well, that's super few. They didn't even put Thrawn into the right era so to say. Also, I don't remember the Mandalorians as pacifists in KotOR era - considering their Clone Wars arc. Disney did *not need* to take anything from the EU to canon because it was *already* canon back then. Now it's more likely admitting their failure of telling original stories. So rather than creating new things, they cherrypick some of the old stuff that succeeded, alter it a bit, and sell it as their own. I would not call it good job.

KOTOR is one of these cases where something is more something than the original. For me, Kotor will always be more Star Wars than any episode, video game or recreation. Kotor is the purest and most beautiful Star Wars ever made.
I've seen some comments about it, but I felt it should be said , Revans power, his immense strength. It came from emotion, he did not forgo physical attachment as the jedi did, nor did he let his anger control him as the Sith did. He found a... balance, in Bastille. He found, that control of ones emotions, not forbidding them, but controlling them, is what leads to power, and his love for Bastille, I always liked to think that was his fuel.

That pretty much sums up his driving force after he tries to end Vitiate a second time, gets captured and tortured for 300 years and still manages to manipulate Vitiate into a cold-war with the Republic. There was a form of "peace", but as we all know Peace is a lie when it comes to the Empire.
Revan and Bastilla really shows that attachment and love can be a thing in the Jedi Order ...love is what makes Revan and Bastilla stay strong in the light and it makes them much more stronger and devoted ..
Wish they will make a remaster or remake of KOTOR in HD ...this game is a gem and still is today

In a moment, Bastilla felt the sudden severing agony so intense she dropped to her knees. So similar to the burning strike of a saber, but it rips through her soul, tears through her mind and leaves her numb. Like she had been torn in half. Because she had been. Somewhere, she knew.
Revan was dead.
All the faith Revan had placed in the Force, and yet she knew one fear always kept him up at night. The Force would make him pay for the innocent lives he took as the servant of the Sith. It finally happened, at the hands of his old masters. But why? Bastilla clenched her fists in anguish as tears began to fall hot from her eyes. Why did the Force have to be so cruel? Couldn't it forgive? Why make her love if only to tear him from her? What kind of terror is this "Balance" that would leave widows and orphan...
She gasped as she realized in her moment of collapse she hadn't been hearing the small cries echoing from the small bassinet in their home. She rose up and ran to their son.
Vaner's cries screamed horribly. It wasn't the cry of a child that wanted food or comfort. It was the desperate cry of a child for his father, and knew - despite the fact he seemed to not have his father's gift in the Force - that his father was gone. Taken away. Forever.
Bastilla swept up the baby, blanket and all, into her arms as they wept. The child clung to its mother and the mother to him, as she vainly tried to reach out for any sign of their lost family. The more she thought, the greater the weight of despair. Not of the sorrow that mourning could cope, but long, cold years ahead made of endless days and isolated nights.
So quickly it turned to anger. She should have stayed a Sith. What did the Light offer, if it meant nothing but miseries in life? She cursed herself for not being strong enough, and for not following Revan to his last stand. She cursed Revan for rejecting the twisted arts that, maybe, could have saved him. And she cursed the Force who ruined their lives just to make some cruel point.
"In the end, you belong to neither the light nor the darkness. You will forever stand alone."
But then Bastilla heard Vaner stop crying. Something as clear, radiant and sharp as the first sliver of sunlight on the horizon pierced so deeply. A presence. Love of a particular kind so warm and so fierce...it could only be him. All at once, the grief she felt - which still remained - felt so small and so finite. She knew that Revan had found the new way that he was looking for, had discovered the missing strength of the Light of the Force. The gift that the Force had meant for her all along. Revan's presence would stay with her, warning her cold, lonely hours and sweetening every bitterness she tasted. This was the ultimate power of the Light that the Darkness could never offer: Eternity. And she knew, when she had raised Vaner to be a good man and her wintering years would call her off the mortal coil, she would be with Revan again, forever. The Force was harsh...but it was so kind as well. Balance. The realization swelled up ironic joy in her heart so suddenly she gave a tearful laugh in spite of herself.
The door suddenly opened, and in came Jolee Bindo, looking older, wiser and sharper than he already had when they first met. "Bastilla...is he...?"
She nodded. "He is." But she could tell by the look on Jolee's face that he too felt the same presence she could. In the glimmer of sun through the window, Bastilla could swear she saw a thinly glowing visage of a man in robes, bright as a solar aurora, his smiling face no longer hidden by the mask he bore.
"Your father loves you, Vaner," Bastilla said, holding her child close. "And he always will."
*There is death, yet there is the Force.*

He hand-built and programmed an insanely funny, badass killer droid, aided Canderous in rebuilding the Mandalorian people, and even fought against Emperor Vitiate, so that Bastila and their child could live a life without issues. While it was at the cost of him being imprisoned within the Maelstrom for 300 years, he actually succeeded in doing this, as even though he sadly wasn't Force-Sensitive, Vaner went on to enter the political system and even run for Chancellor, whether or not he actually became, we have no idea..

This theme makes me cry everytime I listen to it. It's such a beautiful representation of their story and the love they shared. I wish Disney would make a video (even a short one) about them.

I may be the only one, but I've always considered Revan and Bastila the Beren and Lúthien of Star Wars. In fact, I imagine songs about their eternal love sung by Jedi troubadour Tionne in Luke Skywalker's Jedi praxeum.

My mind is blown. This is so exquisitely heartbreaking
15 years since I first played KOTOR (I have a habit of finding the good things a bit late) and I can still say it's at the top of my favourite Star Wars games list and still a beloved favourite game of any genre I've played since. There is no greater joy than the telling or watching of a good story.
It is said that even in the greatest of the darkness, there is always a bit of light.
I believe that's what Bastila's theme exemplifies.
He slowly opens his eyes. All he remembers seeing was a bright white flash after a grueling final duel with his own dark reflection who wanted nothing but total revenge for all those who had wronged him. He slowly stands up while groaning for a short bit before he gets a good look at his surroundings. Around him was a featureless white plain with a growing mist that obscured his vision. Above him he could see two large moons orbiting whatever planet he was on and dotted around them were thousands upon thousands of stars that dazzled with bright light. The bright light of the moons reflected on the Planet's surface like a mirror which gave it it's distinctive white glow. He takes a few steps forward while trying to understand his current situation. Where was he exactly? Had he finally become one with the Force? And that this is the afterlife that awaits all Jedi? He didn't want to jump to conclusions straight away so he continued on. As he walked, he feels that the Force is strong on this world and he feels it's presence tugging on him. As if it was leading him somewhere but the question is: to where exactly? He continued on all while allowing the Force to guide him. As he walked he feels the Force's presence become stronger and stronger. Almost as if something... or someone else is in this place. Wanting to find out more, he tries to find the source of the Force's unnatural strong presence, every step taking him ever so closer.
As the mist begins to lighten a bit, he can just make out a human figure in the distance. It has a slim profile so he thought the figure must be female. Curious, he moved closer and as he did, the mist started to dissipate and he could see the mysterious figure more clearly now. It couldn't be... It can't be who it is that stands before him. He recognized it even from a good distance away. The brown hair tied to a tail, the grey eyes that he had long missed seeing, the fair colored skin and most of all the face of the woman he cared for above all else. He slowly walks towards her, the mist completely dissipating as he did. He could finally see that it was indeed her. The one he had rescued from the gangs of Taris, The one he trained and fought alongside with to find out who he really was, the one he had redeemed from the Dark Side's corruption and the one he had confessed his feelings for. The woman he had left behind and promised to return home but failed to do so leaving wondering what had happened to him and thus leaving her alone and die from grief. The female figure then slowly turns towards him and looks in stunned silence at the man that lies before her. He could see the very same outfit she wore when they fought alongside each other and she the same robes he wore when he had a become a Jedi once more. She then starts to tear up on one eye than the other and she started stepping towards the man standing in front of her. Memories started to flood the man's mind. Memories of pain, happiness, triumph, sadness and sorrow. Ones that he had shared alongside her throughout his life and endured thanks to her.
Slowly, he walks towards the love of his life all while trying to hold back the tears from his eyes but... it was too much for him. While his tears hadn't fall yet, the expression on his face says it all. He was speechless and as was she. The two continued to walk towards each other until the they were close enough to touch each other. They both stared each other in silence, eyes staring back for what seemed like an eternity comprehending each other's presence.
"R-Revan?" the woman broke the silence. Raising her hand in the process. Her voice was breathless and she continued to draw tears.
The man grabs the woman's raised hand and smiles back at her. He then curls his other hand at the woman's left cheek, her skin as soft and elegant as he remembered, wiping the tears away in the process. The woman starts to blush as her heart starts to beat faster than ever. She then remembers the time when he admitted his true feelings to her and the Dark Side's grip loosening on her which ended up bringing her back to the Light. She placed her right hand on the man's shoulder almost to the point of embracing him. They start to feel just how strong the bond in the Force is between them and they inched closer and closer to one another.
"Revan... It's you!" the woman said. Her voice cracking from the mixture of happiness and sadness.
"Yes. It is me. My Love" Revan answered back. His hand continuing to wipe away the tears from his lover's face.
He then let go of her hand and placed his around the curved abdomen of his lover and in return his lover placed her hand around his back. It was then, that Revan started to cry too for he had felt the regret of leaving his love behind without coming back all while the Galaxy had to suffer from conflict. Now? He was now one with the Force with her. And in the end that's all that mattered to him and to her and that they would be one with The Force together. Bounded by their eternal love. Their time as Guardians of Peace and Heroes of the Galaxy might be over but their deeds are never forgotten and they will remembered for saving the Galaxy from impending doom. They then leaned closer to each other until they were mere inches from one another.
"You love me til the end?" the woman said while breaking a smile
"I do love you. Always Bastila... Always" the man simply replied

They both closed their eyes and their lips meet and they kissed each other for a quiet moment in time.

This song is so beautiful. And what’s more is it reminds me of Dantooine, where Revan and Bastila first started to fall in love. Dantooine is my favorite planet bc it reminds me of Kansas, home. The plains, the small hills and caves, the farmer aesthetic, it reminds me of a lot of places like Idaho or Montana too, but mostly when I hear this song it makes me feel safe, like I’m back home. I honestly wish that Revan and Bastila settled down there, they could’ve lived in peace.
