Looking good Cameron! I think the little plastic thing keeps water from running off the tank (under the seat) and onto the filter. That is my guess - Justin
Inspiring journey through this build mate, my dad beat leukemia when he was 18, the past 15 months has been battling lung cancer, treatment has finished but unfortunately not able to be cured, iv been following this build for so long, i can't wait for this to be finished...proud of your efforts, you're strong brother
That seat looks pretty good! I’m also very particular about the small cosmetic details and I liked how you pointed out the alignment and placement of the seams. May seem trivial to some but it’s the little things that add up to big things and make or break your build. I’d say you missed one thing on your seat though. When I recently recovered my seat I made it into a bump seat to keep me up on the bike. I used layers of seal foam and spray adhesive to make a bump then glue it to the seat. Then I used a razor and a rasp to shape the bump to my liking before covering it. It was incredibly easy pretty quick and the bump is amazing! I’ll never go back to a flat seat again! I also used some nylon webbing and a grommet kit to make a handle that tucks behind the number plates and the seat bolts go through the plastic through the grommet then through the seat mounts and in to the sub frame. I ride a lot of trails and mud in the north woods of Minnesota and the grab handle is something else I’ll never go with out again.
That tusk gauge is great. I have a 99 yamaha wr400f and at 80-85F my bike runs at 150F 85-90F I'm at 170F and at 100F it's close to 200F riding around town then drops to 180F on the country road going 50mph.
The most trick cr250 r...absolute dream build. Love that carbon, but I almost wish you could get someone to fabricate handmade aluminum gas tanks like the old works bikes. I really thought those aluminum tanks, polished and then painted to resemble stock plastic was just so trick.
Greasing the outside of the filter is definitely not recommended; air can't pass through the grease. The oil in the filter does all the filtering necessary while still allowing air to pass through. Using it only on the rim is fine because it creates a seal to the airbox where you don't want air to flow through anyways.
Man, awesome build. Been watching the whole thing. Been a customer of yours as well. Next seat you do, I use stainless steel staples. Little more expensive but they dont leave any rust like regular staples do as well as galvanized staples also. I also ise a regulator on the Virgin itself. Plastic seat bases vary thickness from one manufacturer to the next. Keep up the sweeeeeet build man.
You know that feeling you get when you’re waiting for something to come in the mail?... this is that times 10,000. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
by far the best Cr build out there man. past few days I watched through the e tire playlist, again, just because there is nothing else that beats this build. other than you beating leukemia of course. currently I have a cr80 that I am a little bit tall to ride. I ride trails and had the opportunity to try out some top end Enduro European bikes and honestly for my riding and my taste motor cross bike seems a better fit. I've been looking for a Cr 250 for some time. after discovering this build there is no way I am not doing it myself. it will be a long awaited upgrade for me. I am to excited! keep it up Cameron
Looking great! Cant wait to see the finished ride. Tip: I powdercoated the 2 seat bracket mounts on my CR 250. Cant see them too well but definitely ensures that longer life.
Such a great Chanel cam been watching forever! Pure, helpful and you don’t plug your mercy every 10 seconds. Keep up the good work man. Can’t wait to see the cr finished!
That plastic piece is not to deflect water or heat. What it does is when you're going fast it keeps your ball sack from getting sucked in and under the seat blocking the air box when ever you have that bike at wide opened throttle. Honda designed bikes for guys who have huge balls and with huge balls.... comes a huge sack to store them.
That's 10x better than when it came out of the factory sorry Honda but Cameron u should be the lead engineer or something there u know your shizz man one love I see the hair and you getting comfortable it's good to see u your self strong man keep these vids coming !:)
I’ve heard those wireless hour meters actually pick up vibrations from the road and have actually been known at least from local racers to put hours that aren’t actually put on the bike on the hour meter if that makes sense.
Hey buddy. Just stopped by to say thanks for making those videos. I learn a lot from you. Ever since i was afraid to step on my first 125cc ive been watching your channel :)
Love your videos so much!!! Can’t wait to see the end result of the build!! I watch all of your new videos!! Can’t wait to see what you do on the z50 you showed us a while back. I have one that looks almost the same and want to alder what you are going to do with the bike.
I can't wait for the final episode on the 250 when you build a pressurised glass display case to keep the thing in... would be a nice focal point in your livingroom. Because you can't honestly go ride that masterpiece in mud after all the work and investment... it would be criminal. It's now a show bike. Amazing work Cam.
Hey cameron. I love the build ive been following it really close because I'm building an 04' cr250 right now. Next year you should make a trip to washougal for a practice day it would be cool to ride with you and compare my more "budget" build cr250 to your masterpiece!
I think the plastic piece is for support for the middle of the seat so it doesn’t dip in as much if that makes sense I’m not 100% sure but that’s my guess!
man i know i have said it before but WOW love it your the best cam that is going to be the worlds best nut and bolt ground up built cr 250 in the world and built by one tuff S.O.B i wish you all the best cam wish i lived closer would love to hit the track with you.
The plastic thing on the sub frame is for extra threat so it forsnt go straight to the subframe incase u start stripping it out. If u do strip it out u would only have to buy that plastic piece instead of a whole new sub frame
Cameron sometimes I use the profiler it's preoiled. It works well. I can't believe that trim coat it makes plastic look so glossy. I'm sorry about your FORKS. I hope this MD company works out better. I live in MD.... I love your channel. You are a true professional. And you thru the video of you covering a seat gave me the confidence to do something that's more arts and crafts.... More so than machanics. Now I need you to help me with the KYB FORKS on CRs from 04 to 06. Thanks for this channel.
So i have question. So i just turnd 15 and bouhgt a moped. The bike is nice and works fune bjt my rear suspensin is agresive. When i push it down it comes up like realy hard and bouncey. What do i do?
this will be one of the best bike-builds i‘ve ever seen. but one thing... i think the radiator cap isn‘t the right one, cause the original one opens at 1,1bar and the new one at 1,8 (the number on top of the cap)
Since you're using the pc racing skins, you might as well use their neoprene filter seal. Never have to grease your filter again. Try it out and let us know how you like it.
Cam you build bikes better than new. What do you do with them after? Sell/donate/keep? I feel like if I break down a older bike, is the value there? I think I crap my pants looking at your builds. The best by Farr!!
What color should I go with on the fork coatings?
Cameron Niemela gold
Black
Cameron Niemela im pretty sure the white guard on the air box is to protect it from debris
The same black
Black. Shoulda went with black instead of blue on the front number plate too.
I cannot wait to see the finished CR 250 bro amazing work
i think that we all can say now that,
this CR250 is going to be the most awesome CR ever build...
really nice work man, really nice.. cheers ;)
KangarooMusic .... if he finishes😂😂 been bout 21 months
Check out the CR125 build Adam paganelli done. Looks unreal 👍
Looking good Cameron! I think the little plastic thing keeps water from running off the tank (under the seat) and onto the filter. That is my guess - Justin
Thank you Justin!
I think that plastic piece is to help prevent water from rolling off the gas tank straight onto the filter
I'm with him
Pretty obvious 🤫
Jackson Rust yessir

Sorry to hear that Bry, hope a miracle happens. Thanks for watching the videos man!
Apart from the plastics and graphics I can’t think of anything else you could do to this bike I can’t wait for it to be ready
That seat looks pretty good! I’m also very particular about the small cosmetic details and I liked how you pointed out the alignment and placement of the seams. I love how this bike is coming along and I expecially love seeing you overcome all your obstacles along the way! Keep up the good work Cam💪
Dang cam going over the top on this build didnt expect anything less!! You have inspired me in many ways keep going stay strong bro
I put grease on the outer part of my air filter to cam it's so helpful I will never stop doing it

@@Balomis I don't think he meant on the filter lol
@@wasabiemans Haha shit, my reading comprehension was at an all time low apparently
Wahr kind of grease do you use? Simple machine grease?
@@wasabiemans I meant the rim of it that seats on the airbox bud

Elijah Jammer Thank you Elijah! Much appreciated
Looking great! Cant wait to see the finished ride. Tip: I powdercoated the 2 seat bracket mounts on my CR 250. Cant see them too well but definitely ensures that longer life.
That’s definitely one of the cleanest looking bikes I’ve ever seen. Can’t wait to hear it run
I put a tusk cap on my 700r Raptor. Love how all it takes it a split second to glance down at it while riding. Helps with peace of mind.
Such a great Chanel cam been watching forever! Pure, helpful and you don’t plug your mercy every 10 seconds. Keep up the good work man. Can’t wait to see the cr finished!
So glad to see SGB getting some love. Jason is my man for coatings and all of my suspension needs!
That shield is to help keep the air box dry from water splashing up.

Lmao
Stadium plate and graphics combo looks really good.
getting closer to the moment of truth.
you are looking healthier and sound in good spirit.

The rainbow looks cool
Man im so excited to see the finished product brother i cant wait. Luv your craftsmanship its one of a kind.
Sei bravissimo a restaurare le moto
I'm so mad I wanted more Cameron now I have to wait for another vid 😭😭
That seat looks sharp against the black and chrome. I'm skeptical on the blue decals but looking forward to the completion.
This bike is going to be way to nice to even ride!!
That bike is looking super good cam! Can’t wait to see this thing finished!!
Shield seals between seat/air box/subframe from water getting into the box
Crispiest how too vids on RUclips! Pure quality, nice work
Cant wait to see it finished.

Hey bud. I think that little shroud provides support for the center of the seat so it doesn't sag in the middle.
Looking great Cameron. This is what a HRC CR250R would have looked like.
Can you do a video on how to make your airbox look like new same with the intake boot
ruclips.net/video/t4slb5sRvEc/видео.html
You Need to check the brand HGS for the silencer its very sick
Just sold mine cr250, was a great bike ❤️
Good video finally progress in leaps. Bolt a few common things on without explanation go in depth on a few things not commonly known, Good balance!
You da man for callin out west coast PVD.. put them on blast my dude 😂😂
Keep smashing life whatever your doing it’s working, your passion for bikes is idolising, keep it prime mate
Muy buena esta quedando la moto. Vamos que falta poco . Saludos amigo.
One step two step three step, finish! It’ll all come together really soon
Awesome work what a beast this bike will be when complete
SGB is awesome, they will look sick!
I think the plastic piece is for support for the middle of the seat so it doesn’t dip in as much if that makes sense I’m not 100% sure but that’s my guess!
Best CR ever, thank you for showing us how to install a new seat cover like a pro.

Nice job Cameron bike is coming up sweet. Bad luck on the suspension take care mate.
Hours Meters are a great way to adhere to proper maintenance schedule. I covered my seat with a Stanley BOSTITCH hand stapler.
Woaaahh! What happened! I guess once the proper parts for the engine and chassis were chosen and assembled, the remainder is easy for a Honda master!
Loving the build!
The plastic thing on the sub frame is for extra threat so it forsnt go straight to the subframe incase u start stripping it out. If u do strip it out u would only have to buy that plastic piece instead of a whole new sub frame
Your a talented man Cam. 👍🇮🇪
You are exelent , saludos desde monterrey mexico !
You made the seat cover look easy mine was a nightmare ! 😆
That thing looks so sick!!
Nice old school stripes on the seat
Depends on plastics I’m thinking your red like on the hubs and black bars
this cr250 is gonna be mint
That CR250 is going to be awesome when its finished

My favorite part on that bike has to be the gas tank. It looks so good! Wish they made one for my bike.
Keep up all your hard work mate love watching all your videos can’t wait for the next one you doing awesome job
If I use the Scotch brite pads on the exterior of the engine, will it still be able to withstand outdoor use. I.e. it won’t rust?
eric gouveia aluminum will be prone to corrosion but no more than it would from the factory. Just gotta keep it clean and you’ll be fine
Little plastyic thing at 1:23 looks like its prob to protect the upper edge of the airbox from dirt falling into it
I can't wait to see the final project ..amaziiiiing job ..good verry goood bro .
That seat looks sweat AF!! Love ur vids man. 😍

Nice bro I just got done redoing everything to my bike to
Hey check out my bike I'm trying to learn how to Put stuff on here but i got one little video clip

Run It Thank you! I keep most of my builds
That's wassup! I buy, fix, sell.. Hopefully I get to the point where I can keep a couple. Keep the vids coming man, you lead I follow!!! 🤓🤝💪💪💪
FAB 1 is the only filter oil I will ever use. I always grease the outer rim of the filter too! Way too paranoid about sand or dirt getting through.
Everything is looking very Good! I love it!
Stoked to finally see a video on the cr250 build sucks about your suspension but bike looks amazing cant wait to see it finished
This bike is a modern art piece
I'm running the same exact seat cover on my bike. Sweet bike man!
Best cr rebuild ever
Please do the restyle kit for this please
How does it not rack up the hours on the hour meter if you are transporting the bike from vibrations from road etc
I don't believe the vibrations from hauling the bike will trip the meter
This thing is going to look bad ass when it is done
Cant wait to see the finished product :) love watching your vids man amazing work!!
It’s looking awesome!
This cr 250 will be a monster :)
Another GREAT vid Cam! Can’t wait to see more! I’d love to see you do a current gen Yz or SX build! Be cool to see what you could do with one.
