    They clearly had a plan: Try to trade up for Maye or take an elite WR prospect. So, he’s basically saying that unless the Giants had somehow forced NE to accept a trade for #3 or reached for a QB they didn’t want (McCarthy) then they had no plan. It’s sounds more like: ‘Your drafting sucks because you didn’t do what I would’ve done.’ They aren’t winning this year regardless, but so far this offseason they added a (hopefully) #1 WR, a top edge rusher (Burns), and OG. That’s (again, hopefully) strengthening positions of need. Seems like they have a plan. Ride Jones or Lock this year and go for the QB next offseason.

    • @juliusjean-baptiste924
      @juliusjean-baptiste924 16 дней назад +8

      They'll probably go on defense tonight get that CB2 or Safety or could go on O and get a TE, RB, or double dip at WR. But they definitely invested a lot of resources in the offensive line to the point where they may take 1 very late round pick. If they can trade up for Kool-aid, that would set them up at corner for the next decade.

    The Giants played this draft right. 6 was too high for JJ and trading out with MIN will take them out of the Nabers and Odunze sweepstakes. They stayed and take BPA which was a position of dire need. Reaching for JJ at 6 would put him in the same situation as DJ. They tried to trade up for Maye because that was their guy but the Pats said no. Picking JJ at 6 would be settling.
    JJ is where he's supposed to be where they have a lot of talent on offense and were just a QB away from really doing something. Giants don't have the skill players the Vikings do and are one of the best pass blocking units in the league. If he succeeds in MIN, look at what he has around him and you'll see why.

    Probably the worst take I've heard about the draft. They tried to move up for Maye. They couldn't. They obviously think JJ sucks so why would they draft him JUST because they need a QB? That is not how it should work and those are often the QBs who fail in the NFL. When desperate teams massively reach for QB just because they need one. Nabers was the best option here and when next year comes along their new QB will have great weapons around him. Nabers will be a star and Nabers' presence will put the rest of the receivers in their correct positions. This was an A pick. A+ would have been the trade up for Maye.

    Feel like the giants did the right thing even though I hate Daniel jones. Here’s why, they can get a qb next year or the year after and start their new chapter at qb already having a good wr, a good oline, a good defense, and a good rb. If they throw JJ or whoever into the crap show that they are right now, he wouldn’t be able to succeed and he’d be deemed a bust even if it’s the team around him. They need to build a serious team to surround the next qb with.

    Why don’t you provide a solution instead of complaining. Who should they have drafted if their only top 5 rated guys were Caleb and Maye , which has now come out. They offered above the 600pt difference to Pats to get Maye and Pats wanted two 1st and two 2nd. That’s insane for 3 spots. You can’t force a qb at 6 and take a guy you don’t believe in. So calm down. Hate these draft experts. They are often clueless

    Joel Klatt: The Giants did alot to improve the O-line AND D-line. Now they have drafted a true WR 1 AND got a solid replacement for Xavier McKinney in Tyler Nubin. How can you honstly say they didn't do much to improve ?
    As far as the QB's go, There are 3 Possibilities:
    1. Daniel Jones finally gets his go to guy and use him to QB the Giants to the playoffs as much as he did with Saquon Barkley.
    2. Drew Lock comes in and proves to be a pleasant surprise. Guys like Ryan Tannahill and Ryan Fitzpatrick have proven a change of scenary to the right organization does a QB a world of good.
    3. Tommy Devito develops into a bonofied starter. He's shown flashes of what he can be if he delelops any kind of high level consistancy. He'd be a popular choice among Giants fans.

    Imagine the situation the next rookie QB walks into in NY in 2025. A solid #1 and #2 WR for the next 3-4 years. Another year of re-enforcing the o-line will help too.
    For this year, Let DJ play his 6-10 games before he gets injured. For the rest of the games, Let’s see what Tommy Cutlets and Lock bring to the table.
    Maybe with this year’s slightly softer schedule we sneak into the playoffs.

    • @Azikkii
      @Azikkii 13 дней назад

      Actually it would be wise to sit DJ as he has an injury clause that gaurantees a massive cap hit if he gets injured. It's the same injury clause that Denver had with Russel Wilson and the reason they benched him then cut him. Basically they won't have any money next year to spend if DJ gets injured. I think it's Drew Lock's time to shine. He has weapons and an improved o line and he has experience.

Who are the Bears going to throw the ball to? Bears have "4 receivers" already on the roster. Imagine the pass rush with just 4 Defensive Linemen if they added BYRON MURPHY II. The best interior defender in this year's draft, Murphy brings an explosion inside that the Bears need. How many Superbowls did Tom Brady and the Patriots win with a “trio of #1 wide receivers”?

    Leave it to Eisen to bring in a fellow Giants hater. Any deal the Giants could make with NE would've cost more draft capital than any rebuilding team can reasonably afford. What is it that makes anyone think bringing in a QB, one sole player, suddenly makes them a contender for the next season? Isn't that what the Jests tried (again) last season? Mortgaging draft capital with a team with as many holes as this team has will only get a new QB killed, much like what they did to Jones. Let's build a decent team before bringing in the next sacrificial lamb for the NYC scribes to hate.

Where has all of that success gotten them? Beaten like a rug in the playoffs the year before by the team that supposedly doesn’t know what it’s doing. Didn’t sniff the playoffs last year because the team as a whole is not good.
