Amen, one of the only things that's kept me sane the last two years is coming home after a long shift at the hospital to binge on Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert, and Trevor Noah. I don't even watch the regular news because that just drives me insane, but Seth and the other late night guys are just the best. Words can't say how much they have meant to me but I do admit to being suicidal more than a couple times since the pandemic began in 2020... I'm a 63-year-old nurse and I have hung in there even while watching dozens of my colleagues just decide to quit or retire early... And to see what Trump did to this country during the pandemic made me hate this country a little bit more everyday

Fentanyl is just another opioid. It's used as as part of some general anesthesia drug combinations and to treat severe ongoing pain (like from cancer). Just because the name scares you doesn't mean it's evil.
Synthetic THC, which is sold under the brand name "Marinol" to treat nausea resulting from chemo, is schedule 3, i.e., less restricted than fentanyl, tied with testosterone and lysergic acid amide. The reason weed is schedule 1 isn't that they think weed is dangerous, but that doctors don't want to prescribe a plant with unknown composition when they could prescribe a pill or patch with known composition, so it has no medical use where it's the preferred treatment.
@@diablominero I don't think it's the "name is scary" but rather that fentanyl seems easy to overdose on and can be fatal. Whereas no one has ever OD'd from weed. Which would you say is more dangerous to the public? I believe each has a medical use, which should be regulated, one substance way more tightly and seriously than the other. That's not the case right now, though.
Edit: I don't know if the chemical composition thing is the reasoning behind the scheduling. I'll have to look into that. I'm not sure why the chemical composition would pose a problem for prescribers. They're already shielded from liability, that's why we have an opiod crisis to begin with. Prescribing a big pharma pill makes money. But a plant anyone can grow? Capitalism can't control it, so it gets demonized and strictly verboten. That shouldn't be the reason for excessive criminal sentencing of users, IMO. Laws are meant to protect private citizens, not companies.

Weed has been pretty thoroughly researched, and as other people will point out, unregulated fentanyl is the cause of an absurd amount of overdoses recently. Sure back when things were categorized it was easier to regulate and make sure it was controlled and safe, but you want to talk about an unknown chemical composition take a look at the bathtubs and bleach bottles they use to make the knock off street drugs and tell me anybody knows exactly what’s in that. Medical fentanyl is not a bad thing, but that’s not illegal to have prescribed to you

The thing that I like about Biden just backing away from the reporters is that you can tell that he’s just seeing if they are gonna try and follow him. Plus it’s a lot better than that time Trump finished an interview and then wandered around the lawn like a lost child. Also there was no helicopter in the background. It’s the little things.

Michael the Black Man (born Maurice Woodside), also known as Michael Symonette and Mikael Israel, (born 1959) is an American political figure from Miami. An outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, he is known for appearances at Trump's rallies and is often seen holding a "Blacks for Trump" sign.
He was one of 16 members of the Nation of Yahweh (part of the Black Hebrew Israelites movement) who was arrested and charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder in 1990. He was found not guilty of these charges by a Florida jury in 1992.
Woodside subsequently became a fervent opponent of the Democratic Party, changed his name to Michael Symonette, and began a career as a musician, before reinventing himself as "Michael the Black Man." He has accused Oprah Winfrey of being the devil, and Barack Obama of being endorsed by the Ku Klux Klan, and says that the Democrats are "the worst thing that ever happened to the black man.”
