The worst is when you it's all going great and you're loving it. Then you start noticing the suck but you keep on keeping on because your mama didn't raise no quitter. But you go back to it less and less until years later. So you forget the trauma and replay it. And you're loving it until you remember.
Basically saying the Fade and Jet Ski ruined Origins and Uncharted is overkill. Were they good? No. Were they Horrible beyond belief? Also no. It’s like saying the MJ levels completely ruin Insomniacs Spider-Man
Heh - I never played it, but I watched my son play Heavy Rain for a bit. "So which one is it going to be?" I asked. "What do you mean?" "Which of the characters you control is going to be the killer?" "No, they're the ones trying to catch them." "Yeah, but which one is it going to be?" He thought I was an idiot.
Middle Earth shadow of war
Killing the same general over and over and over and over and over again only for him to show up for revenge at the worst possible moments.......
Uncharted didn’t suck at all, it was great, the jetski level wasn’t the best but thankfully it only took up about 10 minutes
My gaming highlight of January 2025 was wandering around Kalm in FF7 Rebirth and happening upon NPCs having a slap fight while arguing about who loves another NPC more. It’s been a pretty left-field game thus far, but that was truly unexpected.
In what world do Fable II, Uncharted, and Heavy Rain "suck"?
Hyperbolic clickbait video title is hyperbolic clickbait
While you might find the Fade part of DA:O and Jetski part of Uncharted to be weak parts of those games, I don't think I'd go so far as to say that they ruined the game. Every game has a section of the game that people like less than others. Even then that's subjective.
Hey I got picked! 🥳 that made my day Jules, keep doing what you do you legend
I like your channel a lot, but with all due respect, the Sea-Doo sections in uncharted, annoying as they are, isn’t enough to ruin the game for me.
Can't say that the Jet Ski levels in Uncharted really bothered me at all. You are a bit more vulnerable due to handling and no cover that I'd like to be, but I recently finally finished the games on brutal difficulty and ever there they weren't even close to game ending.
Far Cry 5 has a known glitch that can occur where one of the forced story missions starts just doesn't and you're locked into limbo unable to do anything else. This wouldn't be a problem if the game had a normal save system instead of relying entirely on autosaves and locking you out. This happened to me 20 hours in and I haven't picked it up since.
How about 10 times you came across something in a game that made you immediately run away?
Like the first time I wondered where the Volatiles went during the day in Dying light, I followed one as it ran away, went into the tunnel and immediately seen like 20-30 of them all look up at me, immediately noped out.
Just can't agree with Uncharted 1. Sure the jet ski sections might suck...but that doesn't mean the WHOLE game does. I went back to the PS3 version in August of last year and finally got the Platinum in it after nearly 16 years (Crushing difficulty was always left unfinished)...the sequels are definitely better, but UC1 is still a fantastic game. I just don't think it fits this list the same way the other entries do.
Hmm I didn't mind The Fade part of DA:O actually because it gave me some permanent stat buffs for being willing to slog through there. Was it good? no, but it at least rewarded you.
A bit of January good news that definitely fits in the schadenfreude category is EA recently announcing financial difficulties and cancelling a load of live service bin juice. Its sad because maybe decent games will be cancelled and really unfortunately game devs will most likely be laid off, but for a greedy company like EA to lose out finally, well it brings a smile to the face.
This literally happened less than forty eight hours ago. Geoff Keighley (host of The Game Awards) applied for the Nintendo Switch 2 experience. Unfortunately, he was not invited, to which he took it to social media under a post saying "Have a rotten day" (now deleted).
-I wanted to see how bad Other M is. While I did enjoy the train wreck of a story the gameplay itself wasn't that great. It sucks because I would like to see another third person Metroid game. I'm not a big fan of FPS games.
-2:25 Was someone in the plane with you or did you get sniped?
-Why does the title have the word Infinite with the lack of a roster?
-I do not recall Uncharted being that bad.
Wait what?! The fade? That's one of my favorite parts of dragon age origins, I've never heard of that part being hated. Such a weird addition...
This is the problem with doing multiple list videos on multiple channels for multiple years. You need to make some bold (controversial) statements, to drive engagement. Otherwise people watch a repeat of the same list they've seen on every gaming channel, and just move on without liking or commenting.
the way i heard it, there are actually TWO different The fade" missions.
one early on, and one near the end.
the later one is MUCH bigger.
Idk personally I hated it and did give up at that point so I see his point. No judgment tho, art is subjective after all
There's a very popular mod that takes out the Fade part. I enjoyed the Fade the first few times, but honestly, on my tenth playthrough orso, I'd rather never do it again. Even after a break of years.
@@ericb3157 That's correct. One of them is for the Mage origin that you only play if your character is a Mage (obviously) and the other one (the longer and much more hated one) is later in the game that you play through no matter what.
So Other M is a BAD game, but I would like to argue that Samus freezing up is a form of PTSD for seeing a traumatic figure from her past that she thought was long dead. That said, the game is SO BAD, I can't be sure if that was what was intended or just fan speculation.
It was a cool idea poorly implemented. I think it would work fine on a prequel before all games were she is inexperienced, or were she watches something traumatic that brings it back...
Like when Sarah Conner saw a terminator in T2.
Nintendo of America basically screwed the game over with them cutting Samus’ character arc from the Japanese version of the game, making her freak out come out of left field. If Metroid Other M gets a remake for Switch 2, it should be a remake of the Japanese version.
My January 2025 highlight, this year suddenly became the year of the Ninja! Sure, half of Assassin's Creed Shadow is a ninja, and we have a 2D Ninja Gaiden game, but NINJA GAIDEN 4? AND NINJA GAIDEN 2 BLACK SHADOWDROPPED? Year of the Ninja
Highlight of 2025 - the tutorial level of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Replaying the prologue of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Khazan the First Berserker demo, it has felt like so long since really demos were a thing and having the first two story missions available with progress being carried over gives me small hope they may be making a comeback in some way
Regarding Metroid: Other M, sadly part of the story here stems from the manga that was written, which would partly explain the why she freezes up when she does. But otherwise, you're right, as where this game takes place in the overall timeline it makes no sense at all that she would do this *now* rather than be subject to the terror before in an earlier timeline game (like Zero Mission).
I would love to see you tackle 'Characters that feel like they would fit into other games" i.e Delilah from Firewatch seems like she'd fit perfectly into Coffee Talk as a customer. Enough to make you wonder. Not enough to know where you stand. 😂
For Gaming Highlights, I just want a mention of the period tracker in Love and Deepspace
my gaming highlight of Jan 2025 has to be when they announced that the new tomb raider remastered collection were going to completely fix the things that were broken or just flat out missing from angel of darkness, to me, as a tomb raider fan this is awesome and i can't wait till Feb 14th.
This one's up there for me, too. I can't wait to play it.
I love Resident Evil 6, fight me! And Uncharted doesn’t suck. You’re just bad at the game. And as for Metroid Other M, Nintendo of America screwed the game by cutting stuff that was very important to the Japanese version of the game.
For me it was the teenage mutant ninja turtles game where the marketing didn't inform you at all that it was going to be a game where you needed all four turtles to play and how badly they botched the AI of it it was the first time I ever realised that platinum games was not that infallible geniuses I thought they were
My Jan 2025 moment had to be beating Dark Forces Remastered, a game a loved nearly 3 decades ago and which I hadn’t played in just as long. Unable to beat it as a teen, this felt like nostalgia and a long delayed win that I truly enjoyed.
Lost me at the Fade. It was a key part of the lore and world building.
January Highlight: Avoiding online addiction games and getting to my single player backlog. I enjoyed my week with Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. And now I'm setting up to play FFXVI.
The biggest gaming highlight of Jan. 2025 for me, definitely has to be the official announcement/reveal of the Switch 2. All the surface level hardware upgrades look great, seeing our first sneak peek of Mario Kart 9 was fun, confirmation of backwards compatibility for OG Switch games and more news to come in April (hopefully one or two more day one teases/reveals).
I liked The Fade in DA:O- any opportunity to get stat increases outside of just gaining another level is alright by me.
DragonAge Origins, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Fable2… What? I dunno about the rest, but those games are great. I experienced the exact moment here, where I realized, your opinion sucks.
#2 reminds me of something i read about a very old game called "Kameo".
it's a popular game, but unlocking new "elementals" to transform into sounded rather repetitive.
2:25 this exact thing happened to me and I couldn't figure why my plane just fell out of the sky...
My gaming highlight of Jan 2025 was playing through what would become my favorite game of 2024, Astro Bot. I absolutely adored it due to its cute aesthetic, tight game play, and loving tribute to 30 years of Playstation.
Other M seems to ignore that Samus took down Ridley more than once in Metroid Canon before the start of the game.
Im hoping citizen sleeper 2 is going to be my highlight in a couple days, but i guess technically it's more Feb than January lol.
This list is clearly designed to get people to engage. I love Jules, one of only whatculture guys lists that I actually watch. Saying; fable 2, dragon age origins, and uncharted, are bad games is a stretch by any means. Still, it worked, because here i am commenting.
At least nonsensical TV writing is done on the fly (see: Lost)... don't know how Heavy Rain fumbled the story so hard when it was done start-to-finish before release. Why did MC keep blacking out and waking up with origami figures on his person? Ahhhhh just forget that stuff!
DiMA's memory recovery mini game in Fallout 4: Far Harbor DLC
I think people are taking the title too seriously.
My personal highlight for January was beating a Gold Stake Balatro run for the first time.
January 2025 gaming highlight: a new Dynasty warriors game, that brings big changes, and those changes didn't ruin the whole game, but made it incredibly good. That's not something that happens a lot, but when it does, it is instantly the best thing in that month.
My gaming highlight was replaying the Arkham games in Return to Arkham… pretty much says how I found 2024 for games
I've put 200 hours in Path of Exile 2 so far. It's a fantastic game and i love it, even though I'm currently licking my wounds from my recent failure of the Trial of Sekhemas for my 3rd Ascendancy. IYKYk. As soul crushing as this game can be, its still incredible, even for early access. Highly reccomend for any masochists out there, like me, who are desperate for a challenge and ingenuity. But yeah... It's rough when you really love the game but it doesn't love you back. Lmfao
I can still hear the game music in my head and it hurts my soul.
I don't know if it counts as a January highlight since it came out last spring, but I just played Lorelei and the Laser Eyes and was pretty solid
Dragon age origins fade level kinda sucked but overall the game was amazing. I wish they just kept to DAO formula in sequels, I couldn't get into any dragon age since but I keep returning to DAO
My highlight for jan 2025 has been indiana jones and the great circle. I got lucky and won a raffle for xbox game pass so decided to give it a shot since it was free and great circle was so fun. I heard mixed things but from the start the combat was chunky and felt like an 80s action movie. It really felt like i was playing through an old school indiana jones movie. The team put so much care into a game not many people talked about so I wanted to shout it out as a big highlight during a tough holiday season
my highlight of the month is playing the arknights endfield beta. its like if satisfactory and factorio were merged with an action rpg and it works a lot better than you'd expect. i stayed up until 5 a.m. playing once.
I would say that many games on this list don't suck in a general sense but that it is just those parts you mentioned that sucked.
Gaming highlight of Jan 2025: Wallace & Gromit DLC announced for Powerwash Simulator 😁
January 2025, finally finished GTA V. Only took them giving the non-zero chance of releasing VI to get me to finish it. It’s a good game, and a good story, but where’s the pressure when it’s around forever and other games get sequels, or studios make new games?
My Highlight of Jan 2025: a low-light actually...EA stating Dragon Age: Veilguard failed to meet their overarching expectations AND Mass Effect 5 could take another 5 years.
First time ever being first and first! Small things, right! 😂
O it's a certain kind of high brother.
I adore Heavy Rain and all the Quantic Dream games. Although the reveal really isn’t great, I don’t think that means the game sucks by any means.
Far Cry 5 was actually a good game; it was the ending that sucked.
My gaming highlight, as i am catching up with my 'pile of shame', has been ''Dishonored: Death of the Outsider''. Still a good game.
any assassins creed game after 4, the moment you start playing it
FF7 Remake's Whispers
Kingdom Hearts 3 Arendale
Genshin Impact Dehya's Release
Shenmue 3's first fight.
Have to disagree on the fade. It was irksome but definitely didn't make me want to nope out of the game. If anything the amount of time you have to spend in Orzammar was more frustrating for me then the fade section.
In terms of starfield I’d say the point where you realize the game sucks is after you complete the 40 hour tutorial and the game is like congratulations now click that NG+ button so you can actually play the game’
Yall do know Metroid other m was supposed to be a origin story right, she hasn’t fought him many times in it
It wasn't an origin story. It was after Metroid 1, Metroid 2, and super Metroid. So at that point she had fought him at least three times.
Most these aren't bad at all, and hardly ruin amazing games. Also Farcry 5 your kidnapped ONCE per region, so 3 times total.
My personal highlight would have to be taking thing chance on buying sekiro and finishing it and loving every minute.
I’m probably in the minority, but I really enjoyed far cry 5. It’s one of my favorite far cry games
MvsC2 was one of my favourite games of all time, I even own a cabinet but f**k infinite was played and deleted in 1 hour.
.......i liked Metroid: Other M
7 times dying just made you stronger?
Uncharted didn't suck at all, weirdo, you're trying too hard.
Yeah i have to agree. It might have a couple of bits that haven't aged 100% successfully, but it's not in anyway sucky.
It's a weird mismatch cause some of the games do suck but then like, Dragon Age Origins? Fable 2? It feels like two different lists combined by accident
@@ombra711 it feels like AI...
That jet ski part was pretty crappy but the game overall was great
The first uncharted did more than just suck..
Not allowed to say “geezers” any more? Well, to make up for it, make that video on flash/browser games you promised
What are you talking about? Fable 2 was great
Far cry 5 is good. The newest one is dirty cheeks
Yeah... that list defiantly wasnt the one. formula has gotten a bit stale
Far cry 5 is prob my favorite one man cmon lol
Couldnt disagree more.
I'm ready for the hate... but I really liked other M. I believe people are far too critical. Certainly isn't my favorite metroid game but it was solid gameplay short of the 3rd to 1st person mechanic which I still thought was a cool idea. Let loose the guns commenter's 😅
also much love jules, you rock 🤘
Wow, that thumbnail is from the very spot where I stopped playing the first Uncharted. So it’s not just me. Good to know…😮
Fun far cry 5
Re4 when it throws wave after wave of the same 3 villagers copy and pasted at you. All with enough ammo to take down a small army. I wanted survival horror. That was is neither
Resident Evil 6 is the first and only game I have ever returned to the store without completing. Worst game I have ever played.
Fr i only like uncharted 4...😂😂😂 Never replaying the other 3😂😂😂
God of war 2018, knew from the very first trailer, such a terrible game and ragnarok is even worse
UH UH HELL NO THEY ALREADY TALKIN CRAZY BOUT THE FABLE SERIES TOO MUCH U GIVIN EM FUEL im STEPPIN behind dis 1 yn WAIT til 4 come out
