I paid for the android version of ravenhearst around a decade ago. It requires absolutely no skill, because it will never load. It's has become tradition for me to install the game to see if it will ever work every time I get a new phone.
The RNG hellscape that I loved playing was Alien: Isolation Any%. The only things that are certain in a run are 2 Flares, a Medkit and the Shotgun. Everything else, and I mean everything.. Loot, Crouch Clipping through Walls, Spawns and even arrival times of Trams are completely random... Imagine losing a world record time because the last mission has a random 30% chance to have a faster walking speed and you lose 9 seconds for no reason at all... Infuriating. All of this means that the completion rate of an Any% run is about 5%.
Sogoroku Probably took up more of my time in samurai Warriors two than the actual game did. Also I have been bummed out about the fact that they have not included it in any of the warriors series since then that i know of me and my sibling and friends use to play the hell out of it
Mordheim. like many i initially thought RNGeezus just hated me, but after people datamined the code, it's proven that player warbands have programmed in fails that just get worse depending on how 'hard' the mission claims to be
Pick any PvP: Skill doesn't matter because anyone better than me is hacking. I'm happy that I finally got one in the deep cut. Good ol' Blitz. A friend of mine owned the arcade cabinet. We played it all the time.
Yugioh Reshef of Destruction and Sacred Cards Despite how many years into the series we were by this point, these games were made using the old rulings of the game prior to establishing set lists. Because of this, the game played very differently to the actual card game and the show, such as having a max hand size of 5, you could discard any number of cards for whatever reason, you could remove cards from your field for no reason, no fusion, extra field, or ban zones, fusions not needing polymerization, etc. What truly made this a game that didnt require skill is that because this followed the logic of the concept game and not the actual game, everything was tossed out the window with rules of combat. In battles, attributes mattered more than stats. So, in a regular game you would try to have cards that synergized with each other for the optimal efficiency. Here you wanted a nice spread of attributes which meant having random cards throughout the deck. Because in a normal game, stats matter, and If I have a monster with 2000 ATK and the opponent has one with 2500 ATK, theres no way I can defeat it until mine overpowers it. However, in this game, attributes matter more, so if I had a Water monster with 100 ATK, and my opponent had a Fire monster with 5000 ATK. It doesnt matter. Mine would win because water beats fire. Making the stats, strategy, and skill almost pointless throughout the game.
Hypnotorious from Jackbox Party Pack 10, apparently. The Outlier -- who, like everyone else -- is very nearly guaranteed to win, and can do so while doing sweet Foxtrot Alpha. There's a video out there on why this is. I hear it's something of an RNG as to whether or not RUclips will actually notify you at the right time, but that's a game of a different nature. (Also only really applies to livestreams and premieres.)
Honestly, one such example of a game where skill doesn't matter I can give is MegaMan X8. You could argue the bosses having longer I-frames, being completely invincible while in overdrive, and doing more damage when they reach a certain health threshold could be for balancing, but then again, MegaMan Zero had bosses have set health and damage values regardless of rank, while the higher the rank, the more aggressive a boss's attack pattern becomes, and when having an A or S rank, a boss can unleash an EX Skill. So yeah, I honestly believe X8's difficulty is completely artificial rather than natural, unlike previous X games, including the absolutely hated MegaMan X7.
In Uno for the Ps4/XB, player vs Ai games can carry on for ages because the AI always, and I mean always gets draw 4s whenever you start winning. Every. Single. Damn. Time.
In Mario Kart 64, you can be the greatest Mario Kart player out there, and yet that won't matter, because the CPU will always cheat its way back to breathing down your neck.
Anyone saying you don't need some kind of skill to finish a Pokemon game (not even including 100% the Region Pokedex) ... hasn't actually played a Pokemon game, and definitely not to the end. 😔
Where do you, my fellows in the comments, draw the line for "Fun RNG" like in games like BG3, and "Bad RNG" like in the games in this list? For example, while it is on this list, Space Hulk's RNG sounds kinda fun to me.
Blitz ABSOLUTLY took skill. if you knew the ends and outs you could not be stopped and have the ball not move, even with the HARd arcade "give me your quarters" gameplay.
Surely early point n click puzzle games will appear somewhere in this list. Because there was no skill involved in trying to solve those inscrutable nonsense verses masquerading as logic puzzles
this guy looks mad familiar, the bald head reminds me of another channel.....im not on the white side of youtube so remind me where did he get his start?
"Who is playing Crash Bash in the year of our lord, 2024?"
I was yelling at my screen, "Caddicarus!" and then you actually brought him up. 😂
I need a Jules/Caddicarus collab like now. You two together would be HYSTERICAL

NFL Blitz was pure chaos and it was hilarious
No brazers logo for the cucumber cut?
Fuck yea, Caddy! I would have been so mad if you mentioned Crash Bash without mentioning him.
I still play crash bash with my family we love the polar bear pushing game

Some of the card games in Solitude for Windows. I remember my mom playing it once & moving the obvious card she won the game.
My bloody bingo card is what got me convicted for 7 murders 😮💨 didn't even get ONE line BINGO.

space hulk was so frustrating, like whats the point of being a terminator if the genestealers one shot you

The text based game series Tex Murpy (yes i feel old now) needs an episode
Jules must have started a duck farm.
Deep cut: Jules, but his chin is bald instead.
I have long wished Sugoroku was made its own game!
Thanks Jules - you large shelf
Before we go today, one more thing that doesn’t require skill, is your worth as a person. :)

I guess nfl blitz would be a deep cut for the brits lol
Is it just me, or is the Samurai Warriors 2 Suguroku kinda like that one board game from Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep?
Pretty sure those 3 games Jules said didn't need skill... actually do
Cash Banooka mentioned.

Probably not a deep cut, but any x-com like game. Not all TBS games, specifically x-com like games where 95% means 1 in 3

Why mate, why? Why do you do this to yourself, or rather, make me do it. Just make the video on Flash games and it will all stop
That's a long thumb bruv
