      @@pi3ladbd417 it could be a few things, i have a couple questions first. Did you buy it new? 2. What oil gas mixture are you running? Also what brand of 2 stroke oil are you using? 3. What size engine is it a 27cc, 29cc, 30.5cc 36cc or 45cc? and brand of engine? Like i said could be a couple of things 1. Its running way to rich and when you run real rich it the performance ia really bad and somecases barely move the baja and you have to lean out your low speed needle first before your high speed needle on your carb. 2. Is your spark plug fowled? You may need a new spark plug. 3. Check ALL your motor mount bolts, myself ive had the top right bolt on your motor brace on the clutch carrier backed our into my brake pads causing to engage my brakes full time so when you give it full throttle the baja barely moves. • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  4 года назад +1

      hey man! You need to visually check if your plug is giving off enough spark first. Also good to troubleshoot with a new spare plug just to fully eliminate that situation. I've found 4 out of 5 times a bad plug is the reason for not starting. Then usually you carb is busted if you have spark, you need to clean the carb out. In my case even when I saw plenty of fuel in the primer bulb the motor was still not getting fuel, and my carb was busted, I had to replace it.

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  4 года назад

      hey bro! YEs, that is also a relatively common problem, the coil itself not being correctly aligned. This is why I always tart out with the spark tester to see if the coil itself is sending spark, you know. Based on that, you can move onto the plug. Ive never had a coil issue so far, usually it's the plug.

      @hybrid32494  4 года назад

      hey man! Thanks for watching. Yes, there is a good amount of carbon on the piston, you're right. It seems to not affect anything from what I can tell. Unless I have some severe need to rebuild the motor, I will just let it go. There is more risk in trying to clean it than just letting it run, you know.

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  4 года назад +1

      it's all about those TEEF bro!! And ye, the pipes make a huge difference in the power band and torque of the motor. This is a King Motors clone of a a Dominator style pipe, which is one of the best. There is pretty much nothing better than this style pipe, other than some side exhaust styles, but you're talking minimal gains here. Some people claim that a pipe when campared to a stock baffle/can type exhaust will give an engine one extra HP, which is possible id say.

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  4 года назад +1

      hey buddy, thanks for watching. Some owners manual still say to break in a gas engine using non-synthetic oils because the break in period is shorter. The reality is it's just easier and better to just run the same oil you will run instead of changing. Everyone I know uses a good quality Synthetic racing oil, such as Klotz Benol, Castor 927, Redline, Dominator. I use Klotz Benol since it's cheap enough, mixes well, smells good and has a nice red tint.

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  3 года назад

      hey buddy! Generally your problem is the symptom of a bad carb, over time the diaphragm which is made of a rubber material just deteriorates inside the carb, and it will cause exactly the problem you're describing. The ethanol in modern fuels rots away and distort the rubber elements of the carb. I highly recommend you get a replacement carb.

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  2 года назад

      hey man! Trust me, I def see this comment, lol! OK it sounds like your motor is flooded or locked up, thats why you can't pull the starter easily. I recommend you remove the plug and then try to spin it over, it should be easy to pull it with the plug out. If it's flooded just turn it upside down and pull the starter a few times. Let me know how this goes, then we can continue to more troubleshooting steps.

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  3 года назад

      hey buddy! Yes, there is about a 75% chance the problem is due to a bad carb. I've replaced a couple carbs so far and all just deteriorate due to age and fuel containing ethanol. Generally the carb just does not flow fuel anymore to the motor. To check just pour a few drops directly into the plug hole and spin it, it should fire up for a couple seconds. Then it will shut off again, indicating you have a carb fuel flow problem. IN fact watch my other BAJA vids you will see me replacing the carb numerous times on all my older gas RCs. So far this has happened about 100% of the time.

By the looks of it the fuel has just caused an insulation between the 2 filiments that need to cause the spark so if you could get something to clean them off again and expose the metal as if it was new i am sure that spark plug could be used again. Just an idea to try and save you a few dolors!!! Bows

    You need to get rid of that air filter. Dust WILL pass through it. Get a 2 stage air filter and use air filter oil in the inner filter. Your engine will last much longer.

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  4 года назад

      hey bro! Yes, you're 100% right. This was the original filter on the thing from the last owner, I never replaced it. I need a low profile filter that does not require any velocity stacks or BS like that. I was looking at the TGN low profile ones, but there is no info on whether they require any special velocity stack mountings, or can be used with the stock baja filter mounting bolts and all. What do you think?

    • @TrooperManaic
      @TrooperManaic 4 года назад

      Belive it or not the absolute best air filter you can get for the 5b is the original. Not specifically for air flow but for protection. A velocity stack can be added to the original with a mounting kit and would provide better flow because it eliminates the stock housing and has a bigger opening. As far as oil goes, you can use K&N air filter oil. I've been running in loose dirt for years and never had an issue.

      Hey man let’s see if we can fix that did you confirm that you actually do have spark first do a visual check of the spark plug then attempt to just pour some fuel in through the plug hole and give it a start attemp. In almost all cases when mine did not start it was due to a faulty carb as soon as I replace the carb they fired right up

  • @TreySlayPlay23

    See I've only started mine twice and the third time I try to start my rovan it pulled twice and then the pool cord got stuck and I'm hoping the engine isn't stuck its brand new I made sure the engine was running Rich enough so obviously I didn't get it started for the third time and the pool cord is just stuck and not rotating the engine I'm hoping there's just debris inside of the fan blade or something getting ready to tear it apart now I ended up getting the full size 5B buggy with the 30.5 cc engine so obviously the engine is brand new it is barely out of break in. And obviously didn't get it started after two pools the pull cord is stuck it's not a broken pull start I think there's just something jammed in between it and the flywheel there should be no reason my engine would be stuck already

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  4 года назад

      hey bro! unfortunately a cleaning would not have restored that plug, it goes way beyond an exterior cleaning. There is a filament of some type inside the plug that is no longer conducting electricity for whatever reason, simply cleaning the electrode would not have helped, I've tried previously. This plug was just dead, it had no spark at all.
