I installed a throttle spacer, and quick connect kraken filter on my kingmotor 30.5cc. Also installed shock outerwears, engine flywheel outerwear, airfilter outerwear, and a killer bee kill switch. I can shut off from the transmitter and it is nice. I did install the LED lights on my bumper got 4 of them and man they are nice. Love some RC, my kingmotor is my 1st 1/5 scale bought used on Craigslist $475.00 and been putting that engine through hell for about 2 yrs and still running. Way more reliable than a nitro but still love the rpms nitros spin. Cool videos man.
hey man! What's up! Thanks for watching! I'm installing a Killer Bee Kill Switch on another GAs Rc right now, living the life, LOL. Anyway, I've gotten this back unto 46 MPH, pretty fast for a stock motor and stock gearing while running pump fuel. These Rovans are extremely good.
I don't think the oil is coming out of where the cylinder bolts to the crankcase. If it was, then it would act really lean, and your tune would do nothing, since it would be sucking in air from the space between the cylinder and the crankcase
I think after a few more runs it will be easier to see the minor leak. Otherwise engine idles and runs perfectly. Its very minor, the seal is just saturated, thats why it looks black where I showed it.
thanks man!! It's my fav RC so far, Ima make it a HOLY RC soon, gonna stick on some candles and do a night drive, ahaha. I've never has such a big RC before and there so much space to mount stuff on it, ahaha.
hey man!! I know, it's all about the lights. The more the better I think. This buggy has so many good places to mount them that I could not resists. IN the next few vids I will also have a light on the back, gonna be nuts!!!!
Love these videos, my friend. So much fun to watch. Hope that RS4 turns out ok. Friend of mine had one but never unboxed it. Even 15yrs ago they were supposed to go 60mph on the street with no mods. Better check transmitter batteries so you don't lose sight of it!
hey bro!! thanks!! The nitro rs4 can do 60 with a 2 speed, thats true. But the micro RS4 will be lucky to it maybe 18 with the factory motor. Its basically a stock brushed can micro motor, but well check ti out soon. I think you meant your friend had the nitro RS4? right?
yup. Actually the stock batteries in these are 4 basic AA batteries, haaha. Ofcourse if you get the rechargeable battery upgrade it's much better. But these have potential to be much faster with minimal upgrades really.
I run nitro and 1/5 and my biggest suggestion for you with the 1/5 is to get these three things and they are all cheap. Air filter cover, shock covers, and engi e covers. Outerwears has good and cheap ones
hey man!! thanks for the advice. These are definetly things I am considering. They really have not been my main things to get because I don't do any offloading in this RC so far. But you are right!! thanks.
I know this is along time ago but hybrid mine is a 36cc and it was the exhaust flange on mine that pipe don't sit square it slopes down alil and it leaks on bottom get yourself some exhaust studs and double nut it after you tighten first set. It took away. Mine them bolts also kept coming loose on mine.
I run my RCMK modded KM buggy at 16:1 ( 8 oz per gallon ) which is what Gizmotors recommended but that's a custom built high performance bored & stroked motor, I run all my gas boats at 25:1 and use Amsoil Saber Professional oil, they all run flawless ...
hey man! thats a good question. They each have their benefits. I got all my revo's used and paid not much for them, the problem is they cost more than an rovan baja when brand new. The rovan is really the best bang for your buck when new. Check this one out. I have it as well. www.banggood.com/custlink/KvvDNoKEwo. They are both around the same speed on a conservative tune ofcourse.
The drips and leaks of two stroke oil is pretty normally for a two stroke motor that is running rich. I've had alot of quads and motorbikes do it that are two strokes.
hey buddy!! It's been some time since this video and the oil issue has not bothered me at all, and has not gotten any worse. You're right, this seems normal. This was my first gas RC at this time, and I've learned alot since. thank you!!!
@@hybrid32494 excellent stuff. How is the Baja holding up. I'm looking to order one with week. The postage and import fees to the UK will rack the price up a nice bit.
hey buddy! Whats up! I still have this exact rovan to this day, and it has nt had a single issue at all. I even towed a full damn Xmass tree with it in one of my videos, and nothing broke. Its got a top speed of 44 MPH with slightly larger wheels and it pretty much kicks AS*. LOL. You wont be disappointed, you just gotta run it correctly and not flood it when you try to start it, cause that usually leads to broken pull starts after.

Super excited, I have a gasser airplane, but this is my FIRST land vehicle gasser. Thanks for the oil tip. Do you like the silencer, or does it affect the speed? Not a fan of loud speed pipes...Ive flown a few and they were brutally loud.
hey man! I have noticed that it's become minimal over time. I really have not done anything to fix it, I just wipe up some of the oil every few tanks, not a big deal. The only fix is to install a new gasket and re-torque the head. I would just run it as is, many baja owners have told me this is very common and not a big deal.
thanks man!! I remember with my first nitro RC I got the light kit install, and it was so bad. Do you remember the old style LED light kits from early 2000's. Expensive and poor light output and ran off a 9V battery. All I had to do was strap on a LED work light, ahaha.
hey my dude! Thanks for watching. IF you want to wheelie with anything under a 32CC you need to get some good Knobby rear tires, that is the main thing. Also unless you go for lower gearing I highly recommend just adding a bit of weight to the rear part of the chassis to let it wheelie a little easier. These Bajas are very long Sand-rail style chassis, they generally do not wheelie and drive fairly well at speeds. But you can alter the handling by making it more rear heavy.
hey man!! I would def get one at the price they are right now, 250, you cant go wrong. This is a fast 50 MPH out of the box truck, nothing else needed. Plus it's a LOSI and comes with a good spectrum radio that can be upgraded with telemetry. I would choose LOSI over arrma any day, plus this runs a nice 3S setup, you don't need dual lipos to run a true 4S system with a low KV motor, which will still be slower than this LOSI.

Awesome video, I’m watching you and Botajell for news about hpi/rovan baja 5bs because I’m going to be getting one in a few days here in the mail. Do I have to do after run maintenance on the engine after every run? Why should I have to set the piston to bdc even when the engine is already broken in? Many questions ha ha
hey man, so it turns out you really don't need to do the 3 in 1 oil after the runs. I do it because I sometimes don't run my RCs for a while. But during the first few break in cycles and before your fire up you should put some in there, afterwards you don't really need to. (I'm just OCD with RC care, lol). I also did it because I already removed the spark plug and it was easy enough to use the oil that time. You really only need it to be at BDC during break in, but I do it always anyway, and I've never had any engine issues from premature wear on Nitro cars either.
hybrid32494 Ok, I will use fogging oil for the first time i try to spin the engine over. I will only use oil before the engine has contact with gasoline and oil from the carburetor and when storing it for a long time (more than 2 weeks maybe). But I’m not sure how well 3 in 1 burns.
Nice Vid ! If you really want to know where the leak is comming from just spray some wd40 where u think the leak is after u start it! You will hear the idle go up if there is a leak! For me i hate leaks so i would change it! Its kind of weird that if its from the headgasket.... because there is no drips near the spot u think its leaking so it just squirted out? Sometime the gasket can get dark but doesnt mean its a leak. I would check the bottom of the exhaust gasket. I had a leaking head gasket and it would leak on the sides of where the leak is located .
hey bro! The basic logic of storing the piston at the bottom really mostly applies to nitros because of the "PINCH" at the top of the sleeve. You dont want to store the piston at the top because you would be storing it at a point where the compression due to Tight tollerneces is the highest (makes sense?). For gas engines it's significantly lower PINCH at the top because those cylinders are not Tapered like nitro motors are at the top. Hey nice video and very useful information but sadly my rovan is not starting i check plug but i think i need more time to fix on this weekend i will check the problem but last when it was running i was leaning the engine and it was running very fast may be that was the reason i have to use the old stock settings

I've been looking for used LOSI's DBXL's and they sell for around 600 in average condition. Still too much I think. But they do have terrific shocks, something the ROVAN brand could improve.

can you send me a link to the one you're looking at, Yes they are basically all the same specs, just different colors and basic upgrades. I personally like the plastic parts myself because there are less metal to metal screw connections, you know. These come with a 8K or 9K RPM upgraded clutch, just like the upgrade on the HPI BAJA. So it engages pretty up there in the RPM range and gets good low speed pulls from that.

Nice tip for the motor , I'm just take mine 36cc 😂😂😂and I crashed on the curve so now it's on break , I got.the camera I'm just wait to.get the pices the I need to put it back together and make the vid see how fast can run , nice vids bro don't give up ur vids help to the ones like me , new on this bashing fun
Hey dude since these things have good price points as compared to my other expensive 5th scales and boats, i will get one for my son to start off in 5th scale but I’ll run it for a few months first lol.
Smith RC Studios first test it out by jumping it off the roof 😁
Great stuff Bro can you tell me where you purchased the silencer pipe and how much they are :-)
hey man, here is the link to the one I got. There are many other similar ones, it does make a noticeable difference and seems to be no performance losses.

@@hybrid32494 that's good news my friend iv been watching your unboxing and all your braking vids great and useful information and advice for this I'm purchasing one next week iv saved for over six months for this badboy hehe it's going to be a big stepup from my 12428 Across :-) are you driving this buggy with fpv it looks like it's gony be a pure buzz my friend I can't wait to race my friends round the motocross track driving this fpv 8-} lol
congrats man!!! You're gonna love it. That is just a regular go pro session that I mounted to the top of it, it's not actual FPV. Best thing about them is the easy starts, compared to nitro. you should def make an unboxing video on the one you get, nothing like opening a new 1/5 scale model.
What is the linkege on the seveo an wheel called
hey buddy! I think you're referring to the SERVO HORN. That is the physical linkage that connects the throttle and brake linkages to the servo itself.
Hey nice video and very useful information but sadly my rovan is not starting i check plug but i think i need more time to fix on this weekend i will check the problem but last when it was running i was leaning the engine and it was running very fast may be that was the reason i have to use the old stock settings
hey man, sorry to hear that, lets hope it's ok. You should start by closing all the needle valves completely and opening them back up to the factory settings, then check if you have spark. I just purchased a spark tester, will do a video on that soon. did you try raising the IDLE for it start at least?
@@hybrid32494 you know this gas buggy is awesome and for me this is so addictive nowadays every day I am playing just for the whole tank and it last for 40 minutes suddenly it is not starting just like my old nitro's but now I have to figure it out what is the actual reason and I will share with you and you know in reality from your videos I learn allot about gasoline cars but this buggy is so damn fast and strong fun to play
i agree, I enjoy this buggy the most. Brushless and nitro not the same anymore. Let me know what you find if you fix it. It's probably the spark one way or another.
Hey there what time is the lives on Mondays? So that I don’t miss it.
hey bro! normally like 8ish on Mondays! This week there isn't a live video cause I'm busy editing this week's Nitrogang vids bro! The nitro life never ends, you know. Got lots of new nitros in the mail recently and upgrade THS pipes too.
@@hybrid32494 I know that’s right! Thanks for telling me know I can’t miss it! Keep up the great work!
DESTROY IT BRO!!!
lol, I did. I need another RC that I hate to destroy!! That Toyota logo and NGK made in JAPAN spark plug is like safety equipment for the ROVAN, LOL. thanks for watching!!!
You tryed to hide the oil from de glow on your hand. Lol 🤣🤣🤣
If that little truck is still in a draw broken ide be intrested in it.
Add loctite and torque all the bolts
Could you do a dbxl Losi please. Would love to see that 😊👍. Love your vids
hey man, thanks for watching!!!, you the best!! LOSI is the only 1/5 brand I have not had on my channel, hopefully I will get one somehow soon. I'm looking for a used one to buy, they are just too much in new condition with the terrible 23CC motor they come with, you know!!!
Yes there not cheap in the uk as well. I have a mod one and a 29cc in it which is much better than the 23cc. To underpowered for such a big buggy 👍😊. Looking forward to you Manthousth build when it comes. 😊👍 keep up the great work
I've been looking for used LOSI's DBXL's and they sell for around 600 in average condition. Still too much I think. But they do have terrific shocks, something the ROVAN brand could improve.
I may order a rc maxx 90cc billet long block big bore reed engine it may be good idk
Hey just sayin its a 2 stroke and is supposed to smoke and you dont want to run lean you will blow it up
Better to fowel a spark plug than toast a motor!
Don’t synthetic oils not smoke though?
+hybrid32494 go to Amazon ang buy this torque wrench www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M12284X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Make sure the head bolts and exhaust bolts are torqued to spec, this should right your seepage issue.
Torque specs as follows:
Head bolts 52 - 78 in. lbs. (torque in corner for corner pattern)
Header bolts 70 - 104 in. lbs
They all leak from the same place just how it is
ok, thanks!! I'll keep an eye on it, it's not terrible though.
First
Hey man you should check out kingmotors website 👍
hey dude! I've seen their site before, I actually like the layout of the ROVAN website more. They are the same, otherwise. Prices on eBay are sometimes even better too. Thanks for watching!!! I do like the on road 1/5 scale car Roman makes, seems to not be very popular though.
@@hybrid32494 I'd love to see what the 4wd rigs they make can do! Great vid man I wanna see your rig do a wheelie! I'm thinking about getting the shorty version. I used to have the redcat rampagemtpro 32cc but it was gutless
hey bro!! watch the first 2 second of this video, you can see the front wheels lift of the ground in the on-board FPV shot. I really limit the wheelies because the red pipe on this is exposed, mine already has some scratches unfortunately. I need to look into a a wheelie bar for this, they sell them. BTW the other day I drove with a buddy who had a nitro slayer with a 2 speed. Mine was faster I thought.
@@hybrid32494 awsome! I have been looking at the kingmotor version it has all aluminum shock towers and rear hubs for I think the same price I'm sure there all made at the same factory probly. I had the redcat rampage pro it was just gutless and super loud I thought maybe it was a clutch problem so I scratched up some aluminium clutch pads and used a looser spring for gaurenteed bite but still just really slow. Im gonna have to try these buggies where I live there's a crap ton of snow so I'll have to get the snow kit I saw that they sell looks cool😁👍
can you send me a link to the one you're looking at, Yes they are basically all the same specs, just different colors and basic upgrades. I personally like the plastic parts myself because there are less metal to metal screw connections, you know. These come with a 8K or 9K RPM upgraded clutch, just like the upgrade on the HPI BAJA. So it engages pretty up there in the RPM range and gets good low speed pulls from that.
5:50 Blown Head gasket, You never retorqued the head after break in Typical Rookie mistake,I gave you the Thumbs down for Lack of common sense /
hey man, I will check the screws, thanks!! Thats why I purchased the cheapest 1/5 scale to learn on, because I am a rookie.!! ahaha.
@@hybrid32494 hey man just curious was it a blown head gasket mine's not leaking should i re tighten it what was the deal with yours
that's not running rish thats lean as shit man the plus is almost blued
hey man!! Hold on, what do you mean that it's running lean. It's definitely not. There is a good amount of exhaust smoke coming out, where do you see that it's lean?
@@hybrid32494 there are two kinds of rich and lean. Rich as in oil amount. And rich /lean as in air to fuel ratio
buy a zenoah you wont look back again lol
which model do you recommend, theres so many different models now, I gotta study their lineup, LOL.
@@hybrid32494 go look at my video the same name david blanchet baja with the same picture like this one i have a hight reving 26cc with a pipe and good tune it makes 180 on a dime
@@hybrid32494 you will ran a zenoah lot longer best quality you dont need a crazy too expensive engine i will never go bigger than a 26cc you can put a lot of bolt on these i will put more video of it this summer right now im burried in snow so have to wait lol
I just saw, very nice!!! Did you ever use an RPM gauge on that motor? Id be interested to know the RPM is actually hits. I will be doing such a test on this rovan soon, we will all know finally.
