I am so glad many of the shots here came from The English Patient; in my opinion of that rather revisionist tale of the pure real-life villain-traitor who was Count Olmasy, Ralph Fiennes basically embarrassed himself in that role with more of his typical formulaic over-acting, what's-her-name who played his blonde erstwhile lover was as boring as always, and it was our dear Juliette playing a pretty nurse from Montreal who carried the whole picture. Is there something about her as a person that makes being recognized and upheld less a priority than being an incredible actress you can't take your eyes off of? Is this why she is both so easily forgotten, and so unforgettable, all at once?
