  • Pennsylvania bear hunting is very popular! I had seen multiple bears this hunting season, but looking back it seems like I missed my chance. Lesson learned. In this video we also filmed a BIG buck recovery and some pheasant hunting.

You have a fun moment coming up. When one of you downs a bird, Abbie won't necessarily know what to do. Mark the fall of the bird, get Abbie to that spot and call out "Dead Bird!!!" Her nose will lead her to it, and that is a magic moment. From then on, the words "Dead Bird" tell her that a bird is down at her level and she can probably find it. She'll love that. Thanks for a happy video.

Some harvested a world record black bear in Craven county, North Carolina 880 lbs. in 1998. I couldn't even imagine a black bear that big. Apparently there have been a good many 700+ lbs. bears harvested in the coastal plains of North Carolina.

Interesting-The differences between PA and here. My misconception was that PA bears were huge. Bear hunting here in WA isn't real popular. People hunt them when bear season overlaps with deer season. You never hear of people talking about opening day of bear season in WA. Kind of neat to see that you all do that. The 200 lb. + bear on my game camera this year didn't get me very excited. It just seemed small. So, I understand. Thanks for the video.

Wish we had wardens like that in IL. All we have here are the ones that interigate you as though you just robbed a bank. Thats why people here do not call the DNR to report game violations. They actually treat you as though you are the guilty party, and one thing you never do is tell them that you have something mounted at your house, because 90% of the time they will be knocking on your door acting friendly and intersted in your hunting adventures and the next thing you know they are taking mounts off your wall and giving you some tickets. best thing to do here is plead the 5th. You are beyond amazing! I would give anything (almost) to have someone like you! Hey, is your mom available?? Just kidding. I have a question. Why didn't you just go back to the spot you hunted deer and get in the same tree you did earlier to hunt bear? You saw 3 bear from that tree, didn't you? Or was that another spot? One more thing....I think a few trips to the sporting clays range for Nick are in order! Please don't take offense, Nick! You are probably a better shot than me but we all get rusty.
