It's because it's emulated. Many PS2 games still look great upscaled.

Since the announcer in this Formula 1 game is American, it's odd that it never had a North American NTSC release. Good gameplay footage though!
That’s only for arcade mode though. For proper GPs and Championships, Martin Brundle and James Allen do the commentary as was the case irl.

This was the hardest F1 game for me

Never knew team radio can have super good sound quality
The voice trying to commend you throughout the race is hella annoying, don't think I'd be able to play this game because of it
Luckily it's just in this mode. He's not in the other modes
Try the game, it as a pretty demanding carreer mode
For a game that is now 20 years old in 2024, its surprisingly plays way better than F1 22 to 24!

What drugs are you on?? You're kidding right? Even in the PS2 days this was mediocre...
Some of the best graphics I've seen on PS2 racing games are Nascar Thunder 2004 and Colin McRae Rally 2005. This however does still have pretty good and sharp graphics, much better than the Formula 1 PS2 series (Formula 1 being made by EA and Formula One by I forgot who lol). Too bad for Formula One 2005 they decided to smudge the heck out the the visuals! So, 04 all the way!
