    Good show today guys. I especially agree with you about Knowles. That was the most lifeless I have ever seen him. I do think that they are Hamstringing him with four lineman all the time. Doesn’t let him get out of the box thinking like he wants to. Too much talent to not just let it rip sometimes.

      @@taxisquad11 I don’t think that’s exactly the point. The idea you can’t even try anything else or experiment especially with this group of experienced players is limiting your potential for no reason. Also, to answer your question: USC, Oregon, Washington, Purdue, Maryland, Nebraska with Matt Ruhle all pass heavy.

    • @taxisquad11
      @taxisquad11 25 дней назад

      @@jdburch That IS the point. ALL D coordinators know the following..... With a 3 man front you gain a DB or LB, helping to stop a passing attack, A stout 4 man front is much better for stopping a run game.
      ALL good teams can handle a 3 man or 4 man front. What is more troubling for the offense is multiple blitzes coming from different players from different directions THAT is what's difficult to prepare for

    PSU fan....but....like great football regardless if it's a competitor. Was a big CJ fan. Wish we were playing Michigan this year instead of OSU...Have always followed Chip Kelly since the days of Oregon. He's a brilliant Offensive mind. With your improved D from last year and his O...really scary.... Hopefully Andy K from Kansas will get us some big plays this year at PSU. Should be a great game. Ohio State,Oregon,PSU,Michigan top 4 in that order. Never know but Ohio State and Oregon are both really loaded. We are bringing back 76% of the starters, so that should help some and at home this year...Not too confident but looking forward to the game. PSU first, then original Big 10 after that. No over-rated SEC!

    Guys, the word Chip referenced was “Mudita” - I was confused too and did some googling around. It’s a Sanskrit / Buddhist word that basically means “altruistic, empathetic, and appreciative joy and pleasure”. Wonder who put him on to that, you guys should ask next time!

    There is definitely a different type of energy around the football program this year that I haven’t experienced since coming off the Naty when we should have went b2b and probably would’ve if we simply would’ve fed Zeke the ball against Mich St…anyways that’s the feeling I get and that’s really confidence inspiring and so long as we’re able to translate this to the field on game day then we’re going to get better with each and every game culminating in a playoff run to which they are more than capable of winning it all… It’s going to be an amazing season of college football and I can’t wait…

    Larry Johnson has way too much power over a defense that isn't his when he hasn't recruited well or put a good DL on the field since Chase Young left. Day needs to step in and squash the LJ-Knowles beef. It's obvious LJ is holding this defense back and stunting JT and Sawyer's growth

  • @afanofosc
    @afanofosc 25 дней назад

    There is absolutely no evidence that JK is frustrated by LJ. He has persuasively argued himself that with talent this good on the line it would be a mistake to take any of them off the field to use a Jack/Leo/linebacker. He said that he would rather use 6 defensive lineman at this talent level than go down from 4 to 3 or fewer. He is not lying. And he is excited about that level of talent. And he is excited to keep secret his plans for being multiple and complex with those highly talented linemen. What he said is that it is his job to disguise their plays without having to take off a highly talented DL to do it. And he is not going to tell you how he has already figured out his plans for doing that.

    Anyone else slightly concerned about Luke Montgomery? Went from a highly touted 5 star tackle, to competing for the RT spot (which would kick fryer inside where he’s more comfortable), to competing for RG (that did not last long), to randomly becoming a center (technically wouldn’t even be the backup).. just not the trajectory you want from a guy you were expecting a lot from

    • @taxisquad11

      his problem is lack of depth in the O-line. First he played tackle, then guard, now taking a lot of snaps at center. That would slow down any young O-lineman

    Press conference with mostly coach speak followed by these guys creating story lines out of thin air. Examples: Jim Knowles seemed tired = Jim is depressed because he’s not allowed to implement 3 man fronts. Ryan Day asked about the tight ends and he publicly tries to motivate Jelani Thurman = Ryan Day is giving himself cover in case Jelani goes to the transfer portal after the season. All this will be followed by listeners spreading these fantasies on message boards as if they are facts.
