This is amazing, I've been binging Pally Time's video's trying to understand them in the exact way you've just finally got me to understand them. You are the herald of the PallyTime Spirit/Stam build! Someone who is able to convey the information in a clean precise manner and importantly short efficient one
Very well done and made video, useful information and beautifuly explained. I love how quick and short the video is yet its still very informative and compact with digestible knowledge. Also shoutout to PallyTime.
Con damage vs Str even worse. Its physical damage so its 1 DPS reduced by armor where as holy damage is like Lololololololol by comparison. Great vid my dude. I recently made one talking about Gearing and Stam / Int / Spirt... I did't know this vid existed so if it seems like I am talking crud know that I am not. I seriously tried Stam / Spirt one time then was just like "wait... how can I EVER beat just drinking more often with mage water?" At least when it came to holding back the consecration for 1s for +1 spirt tick. If the /sit is true... sprit gear on the while drinking inbetween AoE pulls is probably BiS. I am convinced that Stam / Int + Stam / Spirt gear is BiS for single target... to get a good mix of the benefits of spirt regen and upfront mana pool. NEVER having to drink I feel is a DPS loss. Hard to say though because constant DPS up time is a thing too. "Shrugs" season to taste I guess.
Best explanation for FSR, I end up confusing people more when i try to explain it. My favorite thing about healing pally tanks is that they drink often enough that i dont feel bad about stopping for mana. >_
So glad someone tested this 🙂 Bit confused about Devo aura tbough 🤔 Might give this a go since eagle gear is so damn expensive. Took us almost 20y but we're making paladin work😄 Anyway, subbed 👍
I played a resto Druid in vanilla wow and focused on a high spirit build. With the Druid talent reflection, it allowed 15% mana to continue to regenerate even while casting. Additionally, innervate benefitted from having a higher mana regen rate. I used to have around 450 spirit when raid buffed if I remember correctly. Worked really well, especially when you could manage the five second rule into your gameplay. Innervate could easily restore you to full mana.
@JugsOfLight please help! Isn't Rune Sword (of The Bear) better for tanking? It's 1.6s speed, so only 0.1s slower, but deals far more damage than Knightly Longsword. I asked @PallyTime but he said KL is still better
It’s because he uses rank 3 seal of righteousness, which has a hidden buffed spell power coefficient that doesn’t take weapon speed into account. Therefore your weapon speed is a direct dps increase. Maybe you can ask him a more specific question like: how much dps is lost when going from a 1.5 speed to 1.6, and what weapons fall into that category? Btw you have to judge the seal that increases holy damage first, I forget the name atm.
Agreed, you also have to consider that like, that 0.1 DPS loss when using the judgement of wisdom or whatever gives you mana back for every hit is basically the equivalent of a loss of like 15 mp5. So is the DPS really better than the mana regen of that faster weapon? Really probably not, as that mana regen you're getting you convert to what you need in the situation be it damage or health. Pre like 30 I could see the Rune Sword maybe being better before you get those spells that gets you that on hit gain mana spell kinda thing. (I think that's honestly like a maybe even lvl 34 spell I don't recall judgement of life/wisdom I think are the spells)
What level would you say this becomes viable for leveling? For instance, I’m level 29 so I don’t have access to Blessing of Sanctuary. Does this spirit build only become effective at 41+?
I used the spirit build before getting blessing of sanctuary. The build is nice because of the regen. I would suggest starting with the fivesecondrule addon. Some folks have had issues locating the fivesecondrule addon on curse. For some reason, Cruse's search function doesn't bring it up, but Google will. Really focus on consecration timings. Use Blessing of might and seal of righteousness max rank for auto attacks. Don't worry about judging for damage. Only heal with holy light, and make sure you have multiple ranks of holy light on your bars. Be sure to save enough mana to do one cast of holy light when it's needed. Practice the rotation/priority to see if the gameplay loop is something you enjoy before making the switch. Nothing sucks worse then changing specs and spending a bunch of gold for a build that doesn't fit your playstyle. Prior to buying whale gear, make sure to visit wowhead and look for which base items have the most armor. This will drastically reduce the damage you take. Scrolls of protection are also a great resource to have. Currently level 45 with 6k armor, 59.6% DR. The armor on greens is incredibly important. I cannot stress this enough. More armor = less damage take = more effective healing from spells = better mana management. Mastering mana management is key to the success of this build. I hope this helps. Be safe!
The miss chance is 5% not 28%, when fighting a mob of equal level. Please the the following link. classic-wow-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Hit Spirit regen equations online are wrong. The once in this video are closer to the truth. Will be doing an update video once an accurate equation is found. As of right now, there may be intellect break points that increase regen from spirit.
while the math isn't exact, what's posted online is actually a formula that gives you LESS than what would be calculated. Roughly it's 25% of your spirit per health regen tick, and sitting increases your exact tic regen by 33% there's definitely a slight coefficient missing in the formula but at 96 spirit I regen 27/28 HP a tic standing. Mana regen is roughly calculated at 15+(5/spirit) increased roughly by .5% per point of intellect (while not accurate, gave an error of roughly 8% LESS than what I was regening at different spirit points). Personally, I do think spirit is one of the most criminally underrated stats while leveling as most classes with the exception of warlock and mage. And exceptionally powerful on warrior and rogue (at roughly 80% and 50% respectively)
If only they buffed prot pally to have a fucking taunt. IDK about playing pally in hc since bosses like princess in mara, butcher in scholo will just fucking annihiliate your dps after they drop aggro.
it really comes handy as Eagle enchanted plate prices are over the roof, i got a couple of good deals, im wondering how good would be some whalt and some eagle plate gear during early 40s, imy guess is that some combination of spirit/int is optimal, instead of full one stat. Thanks for the vid.
Eagle Plate is going to run 7-10g a pop. Not only that, you have to buy water which is expensive as well, and have a lot of down time. Eagle is a very good option if you want to play a flex paladin. Whale is nice because it's on the cheaper side, about 1.5 to 2 gold a purchase, you don't need water, and the sustain is remarkable.
Gameplay? I’d love to see if this is better than what I’m running. Gorilla gear for the most part with 3 or 4 stam items. Seems pretty good if you can find a balance
Jugsoflight died, I remember their name. I wonder how, This build seems strong. A pretty great video to make, I would always vender eagle gear as I assumed paladin would always want Bear or Tiger gear
Great video, would you mind uploading a video of the build in use. Sort of like the sped up combat in SM Arms? i think it would be helpful to understand exactly what you mean by watching it in real time.
You know what, I learned this a few years ago by chance. I was cleaning my old room at my parents house and found my old Wow Battle chest. It came with the original manuals, and I took a read just for nostalgia. When I got to the regen part it clearly stated that you regen faster while seated. Totally blew my mind.
You're missing the difference between possibility and viability. Just because something is possible, doesn't mean that it's viable. If that was the case, why bother wearing anything other than greys? Doesn't sound like you like WoW at all. :P
Elaborate? They commented on another post and cautioned that it’s a different play style. For people who hate drinking. Think playing priest and wanding until you get full mana again. Most people hate leveling priests. 😂
This kind of stuff is also what makes it fun. 20 years after its release and some of us are still finding out new info. This is insightful content and cant wait to try out this build for myself. Trying new things and having so many different variables and unique builds is part of what makes classic such a gem.

The hit cap table was showing values for dual wield and against a mob +3 levels. I'm pretty sure this isn't a build for raiding warriors.
Bad source when finding tables. I will get this update. Ty!
Love science! Thanks

did this in the past with a holy paladin. even more impressive is when your healer doesn't need to drink in classic
really interesting content! thanks
My pleasure!
Could you possibly show gameplay while questing? And would you say its possible running this while aoeing? Or is ur mana pool too low?
Thank you for your question! I will upload of video of questing and give my assessment of the AoE grinding potential.
any chance we could get a screenshot or 60 upgrades of your gear? i’m
lvl 40 and want to try this
Are you running Knighly Longsword or is this build using something else?

W8 how mych strength would holy shock be equivalent to if used offensively
And how much stamina if used defensively then just divide with 30 seconds
Here before a Reaction stream

Sitting wait what? How do I not know these things...
Yeah i only learned that 2 years ago
You know what, I learned this a few years ago by chance. I was cleaning my old room at my parents house and found my old Wow Battle chest. It came with the original manuals, and I took a read just for nostalgia. When I got to the regen part it clearly stated that you regen faster while seated. Totally blew my mind.
I always thought that was an urban legend! I learned stuff today.
Never knew this, but I also never played any mana using class back in the day. I remember you’d sit to eat and drink tho. I guess you still do.
its for hp regen not mana@@CrzBonKerz21
Meanwhile me in 2005 healing Onyxia on my holy paladin with full deathbone, and other mp5 items that made me never run out of mana.
awesome video! can you show the full talent tree please? I'm currently lvl 56 and dont know what to get after Sanctuary
Holy shield and reckoning
What level does this build become viable?
1. There's no substitute for hp5 and mp5 is always hard to come by. People just neglect spirit because they don't see how effective it really is
Any build is possible when you treat HC like WOTLK & just twink out your char.
Would love to see you play an Int Warrior build with dagger main hand no off-hand then. :)
Stay salty.
Can and will be done by someone mate@@hyrwow
If it helps I’m totally Int building my dw warrior at lvl 29 with double Zealot Blade 🤔😂

@@hyrwow Again, people do the naked challenge. Your point is still invalid when it comes to Hardcore. These gamers will do anything.
Pala is best class in the WORLD
Your comparison of consecration to strength is flawed because it is assumes that a paladin stacking str strength would not be concentrating.
I mean they wouldn't be because they'd run out of mana.
No water = Save Gold = Good point
Jugsoflight LOL
I really wanted to know what the build was, but the AI voice was grinding on my ears so I couldn't watch for more than 30 seconds.
Wtf all this time I didn´t know sitting makes you heal faster....
AI voice? I wonder why.
People like to be anonymous? People are shy?
Ok here we go. Someone please get me the maths... kek
What happens once youve done your one run of the day and cant quest cause your kill time on green mobs is 10 minutes?
you fight mobs 3 at a time brotha, not 1v1.
no chance in hell im watching/listening to that voice
Hello A.I. bot voice.
Too bad Paladin don't have taunt in classic..
tried it and it sucks

Yea it’s why I downvoted. They’re probably a dude or not English. Not sure but… AI voices get down votes.
