As a long time Paladin main I am happy to see content creators like Pallytime and Jugs Of Light actually thinking for themselves and testing Paladin potential. I’ve said for years the only two stats that matter are STAM and INT. I said an “of the whale” paladin was a thing and I was ridiculed and mocked for not being a 2H STR/STAM meta slave. Just thanks to you both for doing what I did and taking further beyond. I subscribed.
Finaly some good explanation of some things about wowo classic, i like it... alot. But rly depends on playstyle, like 5/5 reck aoe, Sotc vs SoR ? SoR double back JoW etc... otherwise mail green dragonscale is fun, i even used it on my main:P
200 int is 3.000 mana before talents or kings and you can more easily fulfill a different role in case your healer goes MIA. But eagle plate gear is hard to come by sadly. Your value for missing attacks seems to be a bit on the high end for similar level mobs. Which should make SoW/JoW slightly more interesting.
Love the video cause no one else seemed to realize how good spirit is for Paladins :D However your formula for calculating Spirit is wrong; Mana Regen from Spirit for Paladins = Total Spirit x 0.2 + 15
I've been testing the build on era ( im only lvl 42 on hardcore since i died like 2 weeks ago), the issue ive been noticing is that the "cycle" can be broken easily against certain mobs or in longer combat. So for example, you get poisoned by a mob, that means you reset the five second rule or take free damage waiting for ticks. Blessing runs out mid combat? Five second rule broken again. Scary cast you need to HoJ(a mana burn, a pyro, whatever)? Five second rule broken. Of course this doesnt make the build unviable or anything, it just feels kinda bad when the fight forces you to break the cycle or waste spirit ticks.
If you're poisoned wait until next conc to cleanse. Same for Reseal. Seal costs 100 and some change. You will get maybe 1 proc in that time. Let it fall and rebuff. Don't HoJ a mana burn. If you're fighting casters, chances are you're tanking in a group. The dps should get interupts. Your job is to keep threat and keep moving. If the DPS is pulling, tell them to wait until you get the mobs positioned, watch threat and press tab/change target. They get more threat to work with for max damage by changing targets anyway. You want them to live through the dungeon. So they need to play smarter. A video will be releasing soon showing AoE grinding startng with little to no mana. If you're taking damage too much damage, check wowhead and get the correct greens. You need to max the armor and stats for your level. Armor and BoSanct interaction non-linear.
@@JugsOfLight thanks! yeah a video showing how an aoe farm usually goes would be cool. I'm probably two handing till late 40s/50 and then fully gearing into aoe farm and get some decent gear to get to 60 comfortably.
The paladin class takes a lot of fensse and preparation. To use an analogy I heard pallytime state, it's like driving a car. You do a lot of things at once then wait a bit with micro changes here and there. The raw footage of an RFD run is going up on the channel if you'd like to see it in action. Should be up within the hour. Safe travels!
Base regeneration drops the more spirit you have. The scaling for spirit is 0.25 mpt. So it looks like it grows exponentially, but then becomes linear.
Ok so how I explain that is... Level 22 base regen be like 20 Level 42 Base Regen be like 30 Level 22 Spirt gear give +11 Level 42 Sprit gear give +30 So the spirt gains are linear its just when compared to the SLOWING DOWN of base regen as you level it % wise goes form 50 to 60 to 70% up an up. Aka at 22 its +50% Regen and 42 its +100%. Its not that its scaling its that base regen starts HIGH and scales slowly. That's EXACTLY what I was wondering years ago. Good. That at least doesn't pigeon hole us into NEEDING to stack all spirt with no mix and match.@@JugsOfLight
The hit values are incorrect. JoW is apparently around 50% , white hit rate 9%? The numbers I am finding online are conflicting. Will update you all soon!
I tried the spirit route but it just didnt work well for me, i have no issues using cheap mana pots constantly (er, when i need it, which isnt all that often) so sacrificing all my melee strength for a little bit a mana regen is completely not worth it, especially when you have seal of light, wisdom, nightfin, etc. and on a small note block value. I generally tank 3-4 mobs at a time and i never run out of life, or really mana unless i go out of my way to dump it. I can see it working in later expansions when spell power is a lot more plentiful, but on hc? meh.
Hmmmm I think JoW is 50% proc regardless or wep speed. Me and Minno empirically tested it and JoL I have WALLS of screen shots in my discord with math yelling at me its 50%.
TLDR = Looks legit... fun... unique... stam / int likely still better. Would like to see a mix... 20-33% stam / int with rest stam / spirt gear. Curious if the buffer feels nicer and helps.
This will all go away once classic plus gets announced and paladins get balanced/fixed. There are sure many demands out there for paladin class to be buffed!

i figured it was STR/INT for pallies because we burn through our mana pools so damn quick as ret/prot
