    Wow! Thats beautiful in Camas. When you filmed it was sunny. Thanks for making the video. How long does the snow lasts? How many months like this? I’m from SoCal.

    • @halbyrd_
      @halbyrd_  5 месяцев назад +2

      Definitely not months! It will stay like this for a few days and we get snow that sticks probably twice a year on average (& depending what elevation you live at). We usually don't get ice either, it's only happened twice in the 6 years we've lived here. I tell people it's enough snow to be cute, but not an inconvenience haha

    As a resident of SE Portland (Happy Valley) I love Camas. Such great “downtown” feel. So close to Portland Airport (PDX) and all that Vancouver & Portland have to offer.

    Beautiful couple and nice area. I'm in the Bay Area and have always considered moving up there to South Washington State where there is no State income tax while being able to go into Portland and do all my shopping Sales Tax Free. I also travel a good amount and I'm assuming the closest airport is PDX?

    Do you need snow tire for the level of snow we saw on the street, in the beginning of the video( downtown Camas)?

    • @halbyrd_
      @halbyrd_  Год назад +2

      Hello. I don't think you need snow tires to get around for the relatively small amount of snow we get... BUT if you live or travel at higher elevations like certain parts of Camas, Washougal & heading east into the Columbia River Gorge, you would feel much more confident driving on a good set of all season tires - we discovered the Michelin Cross Climate tires which are excellent in the rain and very good in snow/ slush/ freezing temps...
      And having an AWD vehicle is definitely a big advantage. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching! - JB

    Any tips for driving when ice storm or freezing rain? Unfortunately my job is 24/7 😢 just moved from California and this makes me nervous! Thankfully I missed this ice storm

    • @halbyrd_
      @halbyrd_  Год назад +1

      Hey there. Congrats on the move (& for missing this latest ice storm!)... Best tips to navigating in those conditions are to have good equipment (good all-season tires at a minimum) and just take your time & breathe...
      So many people I see out driving are going way to fast considering that you can literally have traction 1 second and if you ride over a patch of snow or ice, your traction & control are drastically reduced... or if someone or something darts in front of you your braking distances are waaaay longer.
      Leave for your destination alot sooner than normal, watch out for the idiots who drive like physics don't apply to them, and just enjoy the beautiful winter white scenery...
      Hope this helps, and we really appreciate your support! - Hal
