Just did top hose on my 2017 F250 6.7 -- O ring was dripping thought about replacing it but then thought again ( I am 55 now started this re thinking thing here a few years ago) I was thinking that maybe just maybe this is designed so that the O ring fails first and it is just a drip when it does to get you to change the hose before it disables the truck -- just my thoughts
Yes that o ring design I did not like too , for some reason the old style clamp felt better to work with but realized that they use this fitting type with o ring to eliminate the excessive tension of a clamp that will eventually crack the radiator neck with heat cycles and time.

The orings are different from top to bottom depending on the year. Thats why they have different part numbers....
