Cool review, thanks mate. I've been working with Dell monitors for quite a few years now. In my experience, the customer service was second to none. Had a defect premium panel, called up and they delivered a brand new panel and picked up the old one less than 24h after the initial call, free of charge. The driver even called me that he was 5min out. Sorry to hear your experience wasn't as enjoyable.
I bought the 24'' version, the DellP2416D on Friday!! I had a LG22MP55(21,5''1080p 60 HZ IPS). And THE IMPROVEMENT IS HUGE!! All games now look much better especialy the very demanding ones that use all the power ofmy pc like Batman Arkhan Knight Far Cry Primal Rise of the tomb raider e.t.c. Even simple text like the one i am typing now looks much better. It was worth the upgrade. And my pc is 2500k 3,3 ghz gtx 970g1 gaming 12 gb ddr 3 1600 mhz ram. I beleve the difference ih graphics could had been even more huge if i had a current 2016 powerful pc like core i76800k and gtx 1070 instead of the 5+years old pc i have now but still i saw big imporvement! Was totaly worth it!!
Hello,
The review is good but you have to speak slower dude.
Love this comment, no beef with his speed here, but I am Welsh and we tend to have a habit of rapping when we talk...
How it performs in gaming??
Nice review! How is the anti-glare coating?
Good job! Thanks for posting!
This Dell or AOC Q2577PWQ ?
I am watching this video on my brand new U2515H 25" at 1440p - only fault I can find so far is when the monitor turns off the whole hub shuts off along with all the peripheries. Can't plug my wifi adapter at the back of the monitor for this very reason.
Great review! What revision is your monitor? Thanks
I need these in my life
nice set up and good review mate....thanks!
i currently have a dell 1905fp and when i looked at the u2515h and saw the 8ms response time i was like oh shite and then i googled my monitors response time and it was 20ms :o
then i realized that i am fine with 8ms.
I think you can change to some fast mode - like 6ms. Probably doesn't make much of a difference unless you're heavily into FPS games
Joel Pickett
i play csgo a lot but tbh i can not notice any lag...
Hey! Bit late but I hope you can still answer:
Can you use a USB port on this monitor to charge a smartphone when the monitor is off? I do not have any of the quick/fast charging, so I'm fully satisfied with regular 0.5V 1A.
I wonder if I can just use this monitor as a smartphone charger to charge it over night (that's why I can be satisfied with low power).
I have the U2715H and it's to big, might switch to this one
thanks for the video
This will be my next monitor as it can be had fairly cheap.
Thanks for this review, I've found it very usefull and complete!
May I ask you: which one do you think is better between U2515H and UP2516D?
I'm looking for an external monitor for my mbpro, just for some personal graphic project and a little gaming.
Thanks again!
Does DELL offer firmware upgrades to their UltraSharp family of products? Since they have USB ports then that'd be an awesome idea indeed!
Nice job, kid. The only question I have is how easy it is to read text on these monitors. I have a smaller 1080P monitor.
I just got one today
very easy to read text.
Very easy. I'm using one now and my eyesight isn't as good as it was. The high pixel density looks gorgeous.
Hey can you put a link to your desktop background?
Thanks and nice review
I have 27 inch screen and i have to I wouldn't want to go back to a smaller one.. The higher the resolution the bigger the screen needs to be. 27 inch is now the minimal when buying a screen. Next year i'm planning to go 4K and will get 28inch. I read 28inch is the best for that kind of resolution. 1440also at least 25inch imo
Man the smaller the screen the higher the ppi, and the optimal ppi is about 200 and more PPI so what you're saying?
I don't care. I can't go back to little screen sutch as 25inch! For a gamer and higher resolution a bigger screen is better. Perfiod!
A larger screen can be nice but like Tippier Sky said you get a higher ppi, and also some desk may not be large enough for a 27" display.
$500 it's only $330 in the US
How does the U2515H fare against the UP2516D, both are the same price where I live. Is the UP2516D an upgrade?
I hope it't not too but yes especially if you are a professional then it't a big step up. 16d is a pro monitor as it covers not just sRGB but also Adobe RGB 100 % plus 2 color spaces for film. Just check it'S official webpage. that monitor is essential for color critical work and content creation for print. Supports also 1 billion colors instead of 1.4 million I think that sRGB covers.
Excellent video!
Hi! I like the review and didn't think that it was stupid to go filming the intro and the end of the review outside, I think it different in a good way I just think you could speak slower since my mother tongue isn't english and I had a hard time a few times to understand you, but nothing that couldn't be solved with a playback.
Hi!
I'm from India and for some reason despite having debuted almost 3 years ago, the price of this unit hasn't gone down. Maybe that's because it's a really good unit, but the reality is it is still a viable option here. Or is it?
Do you recommend this unit in August 2017 as well? It's undated variant (UP2516D, offering 100% sRGB colour gamut) costs almost twice. So that's not an option.
So? Should I go with this one, or settle for a BenQ or Asus? Any input would be appreciated.
Hi, @Technologetic! Thanks for the informative video. So, I'm upgrading from my ancient HP L1906 and looking at either the Dell S2415 or the U2515 to use with my Mac Mini for amateur photo editing and watching videos. I really like and prefer glossy monitors, so the S2415 is very high on my list, but the U2515's native resolution is very enticing; what do you recommend? Note: Neither is in stock where I live and will 'blindly' order online.
I'd go with the U2515H just for the high resolution. Glossy displays can get a bit annoying if you have lights on behind you (for the reflections), but overall I'm not fussed between matte and glossy displays.
what about glowing effect?
Are you using hdmi to hdmi? or something else
Will game colours be identical on the U2515H when compared side-by-side to the UP2516D, considering the latter has the 'PremierColour' feature? I'm trying to decide between the two and have tried a P2416D which looks amazing in games, so am looking for the same experience.
Do you have any problems with light bleed around the edges? Am about to pull the trigger on the U2515H vs the P2416D but saw some notes from users about light bleed on the U25. Any thoughts? Thanks
This monitor frame skips with refresh rates above 61Hz. Bad news if your planning to OC this monitor.
It's 2024 and still using for photo editing
Will the dell s2415h stand fit on this monitor
Hi, I'm considering to buy this screen and wonder if you can check somthing for me...
My display-card does not support second 2560 resolution (in addition to my current 27" one) but only additional 1920.
Until I'll purchace new display-card, can you please tell me if the U2515H will work fine with 1920?
I work mainly on code (texts) and photoshop. Will the text still be sharp on 1920 with this display?
Thanks!
have i seen your setup in setup wars?:P or am i mistaken?
I don't think so...link?
Does OS X allow you to scale the UI to be bigger/smaller without changing the resolution, like this: i.imgur.com/1G9leS9.jpg ? Please answer! I'm looking for a new monitor but don't want to be stuck with a high resolution but small UI that's hard to read. Thanks!
I bought 2 of these monitors and the colors seem to look different when side by side (with the same settings). Did you have to manually change the colors or did they look perfectly identical when you bought them? Please help!
Once I set them all to the same settings they were fine re: colour matching.
I'm currently looking to buy a monitor and I found my eyes on this one however my space is limited on my desk. Could any one tell me the height of the monitor when you put it all the way down on the stand?
u2515h or g257hu
Hey! I'm wondering if you can help me out. I'm looking into getting the Dell UP2516D monitor for my graphic design work. I know it has the same resolution and screen size as this monitor (the U2515H), and I was wondering how you felt about the size of everything on screen, with it being a 25" inch screen, with a higher resolution? Do you find the items on screen too small to work with at all? Do you find yourself having to sit closer to the screen? Would appreciate the help. Thanks!
+Ben Levermore It's a good balance between panel size and resolution IMO. I haven't had to enable any scaling within the OS and I've essentially just moved up from 1080p to 1440p with no issues. I found the 24" 2560x1440 experience to be a bit harder to read text etc. but at 25" it is definitely the right size.
+Technologetic the perfect size is the 27" but the price actually not worth it, if u compare the 25" price and the 27" one u will see is too much for just 2"
is it worth to buy u2715h compared to u2515h?
In the uk at least its like 150 more for 2inchs i dont think it is worth it.
and the smaller footprint is nice :)
It's $299 USD on Newegg now.
Hey which is the best for gaming with best colors and Best crisp image?
Dell P2414H
Or
Dell ultrasharp U2515H
the third one, clearly
lol
+cm there is only two. Lmao
U2515H definitely
+Technologetic any experience with it?
lol, he's reviewing the product??? Does that not count as experience?
Connected Dell U2515H to my Macbook Pro 15". The text looks jaggy. Scaling makes it worse .
Meanwhile my PC scaled it perfectly.
What is the problem? Tried with my old VGA Monitor too same problem. Only the text is jaggy and blurry.Tried Multiple Cables(HDMi,mDP) as well.
Tried Forced RGB script too.
Will factory reset solve it?
If the fonts on your screen look fuzzy, blurry, or jagged, you can turn on font smoothing in General preferences. In apps that support it, font smoothing reduces jagged edges to make fonts appear smoother.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click General.
In the bottom section of General preferences, select “Use LCD font smoothing when available.”
hz ?
So does this have no speakers?
correct.
I bought one of these I got 3 dead pixels around the center of the screen, I did get a replacment on the spot the next day , the second one did not have any dead pixels , but after a month it 1 of them appeared and it's not eligible for replacement, I am not sure what to do, any tips ?
+filip marinovic You should be able to get your panel replaced according to Dell's site (it's about U2515H):
Premium Panel Guarantee:
The Dell Premium Panel Guarantee2 allows a free panel replacement during the Limited Hardware Warranty3period even if only one bright pixel is found.
1:06 "Hey-ch DMI cable"
A one feet usb extension cable solves your port access probleem easily.
I was all for ultra high graphics and rez a few years ago but now that I'm 29 and almost all day long in front of a pc at the office I realize that my eyesight isn't good enough to enjoy 4k, so meh 1080p it is
how much imput lag?
nice
My macbook pro 13" early 2015 won't connect with mdp to dp and if I use hdmo to hdmi it won't cover the whole screen.. what should I do?
You might need to adjust the underscan/overscan options in display settings of your Mac
Hello Technologetic nice job!! hey i have a question. Which one is better for gaming P2416d or u2515h??? anyone have tried both???
I've used both - I prefer the U2515H for the nicer bezel and slightly larger screen - these probably make it better for gaming.
Put a piece of black gaff tape over the led.
My LG monitor did that blinking thing and I hated it
+azzaisme which blinking thing lol
The light on the monitor
Oh yeah it's so annoying and can't even be turned off..
I absolutely hated it
I don't mind the blinking light, i sleep very well anyway :p
Am I the only one who suffer from horrible light bleeding with this monitor?
Mom kicked you out again?
According to many user reviews on this tech website this screen has trouble with IPS glow. Can you confirm this? (the site is in Dutch, but still, you'll get it.

mrhpijl it does. I'm returning mine cause it's terrible (and the buttons sucks) I have the u2715h though.
Why the hell are you walking around outside while talking about computer setup 😆
You have this problem with the monitor Dell U2515H in Nvidia control panel, view HDCP status:a repeater is connected to your system!

OMG my friend! You speak like a machine gun. As a foreign viewer, for me is so hard to catch up with your words. :)
Anyway, you made a very good review.
You talk fast mate
i like the fact that he talks fast. git gut at english and stop telling people to talk slower, it's annoying.
You can also slow down the video in playback options if it's too quick :).
It's a monitor..I not want a shitty mic/webcam !
Dell USA is much better than this. Don't be afraid to contact Dell customer service if you live in the US.
please do not speak so fast
Your voice is so funny, lmao
