  • Sometimes, it’s smart to comply with what the police say - but sometimes, you have every right not to. That’s where things get tricky, and that’s exactly what happened in Brown v. State. After a 911 call reported a 'disturbance' at a motel, the police arrived quickly and pointed out Brown as the man in question. He cooperated initially, handing over his ID, but wasn’t happy about the cop's line of questioning and tried to walk away, cursing at the officers. What happened next? They tased him, twice, leading to felony charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting with violence.
Brown received a five-year prison sentence on his battery on a LEO charge. Was this legal? In this video, we're going to discuss whether these officers had any right to do what they did to Brown. If they didn't, this whole thing should have been thrown out before Brown ever stepped foot in a prison.
If you’re facing a situation where your rights have been ignored or violated, don’t wait to seek legal help. I've been defending cases like these in Central Florida since 1993, and I'm here to help you navigate the complexities of the law. Feel free to give our office a call.
