    I tried this tonight. Used a russet potato and mostly vinegar, very little water. High boiled until liquid was mostly gone then seasoned w onion and garlic powder and pepper. Probably added too much salt, but key point is you must love vinegar to like these. I do. So these were delicious. Cool idea thanks a lot!

    To take it up a notch, instead of just adding water, you could add some fond/consomme/bullion/stock liquid instead as they will absorb the beef/chicken/veggie of whatever your stock is. I'm gonna give this a shot today.
    Caffeine when consumed daily actually loses it's stimulatory effect. I actually have coffee to calm me down as I have ADHD. In ADHD where the brain isn't properly stimulated, stimulatory substances (caffeine, amphetamines like the ones in ADHD medications) bring the brain to a more stimulated state, calming down or normalizing those with ADHD. This is because a brain starved for stimulation will try to stimulate itself, hence hyper focus, fast talking, being unable to be entirely still, fidgeting, thinking at a million miles an hour and often eating hyper palatable foods etc. Anything to try to find stimulation. Medications and coffee can help mitigate that constant search.
    For regular people, the stimulation effect goes down or even away entirely with regular consumption, however those used to intake of caffeine everyday or at regular intervals can suffer withdrawal if they don't have that morning cup of coffee, which includes headaches and irritability.
    Also on potato being a veggie or not, people tend to call it root fruit or root vegetable. From a scientific perspective, there is an answer based on how the food produces and it's classification, hence why avocado is a fruit.
    Veggie to me is something that grows on a vine/bush, isn't sweet (usually) and tends to be green or red or yellow. So peas, artichoke, tomato, asparagus, bellpepper, lettuce, spinach etc.
    Carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, parsnip, rutabaga, turnip, beets etc are root fruits. Fruit (IE carb sources) that you get out of the ground.

    So a little bit of food scientific, the reason these are lower is because they most likely have a higher fiber content but like the company has stated, some potatoes just naturally are lower calories because they have different nutritional profiles.
    Kind of like how purple sweet potatoes are higher calories because they have a different nutritional profile than regular sweet potatoes. They also taste sweeter so you can definitely taste the calorie difference.
    Being a vegan has Really helped me learn a lot about all of these foods because I because I like to try a lot of new things.

    Boil potatoes, and than mash them. Let them cool off and dry just a small bit. Make small balls out of them and throw them in an air fryer (im adding salt but you can go bananas :D just not bananas bananas, they are shit in air fryer, just go nuts, i mean... haha ). Set it for like 20-25 mins, depends how much you make, and 200'c. After like 15 mins, shake the whole thing a little bit every few mins and separate ones that connected, so they remain small ball shaped spuds. Best way to eat potatoes i ever tried :D Enjoy!

    My fav way to eat potatoes is as mashed potatoes. 500g of mashed potatoes, 20g of half fat butter, 1 egg yolk and some almond milk to smooth it out a bit. Season with salt, pepper and a hint of paprika. Now add 500g of hot "Sauerkraut" (german pickled cabbage) and mash it all together. Now you have more than 1kg(!!!) of food with insane volume and great nutritional value for very low calories. Well, if you eat the whole meal the calories add up. Still a shitload of deliciousness.

    Different potatoes have different sugar content, and starch content. So the calories will be different. Hey... I watch these videos and 🤯🤯🤯,,,put a lid on that pan if you want them to cook in a decent time and not have all the liquid evaporate.

    • @RahulKamat
      @RahulKamat  2 года назад

      Haha good idea to use a lid! These do take a long time

    They're fewer calories because they paid for the analysis from a different place. It's marketing

      @@RahulKamat it's just an assumption based upon what I've found in other cases with labs and supplaments. You can pick and choose labs and your samples and get varying results. Or they possibly bred out some of the starches or made them hold more water.

    i mean food companies need to be within the limit for accurate labelling , pretty sure the company did that to be - i guess.... more competitive than other other companies , to appeal to people who actually read the labels .....seen these things in bread companies many times...and when they change the calories - they add in something like gluten free and shit - to make it seem like they came up with a better product when they just made some cost cutting manufacturing methods ...food industry is filled with deceitful practices .....just my 2 cents

      @RahulKamat  3 года назад

      Makes sense, if something equivalent has less cals I’m def more likely to buy it. And sometimes I see labels with super small serving sizes just so the cals are perceived to be less
