One of the most beautiful Christmas carols I've ever heard. The wonderfully cascading vocals call to mind images of Angels floating down from above, like a real-life Nativity scene. John Rutter and his Cambridge Singers offer up a stunning work of vocal perfection.
Rutter is incredible. My choir sang Candlelight Carol during one of our last performances using a new arrangement. Write this in the search: you will surely like it. Corale Novarmonia - Candlelight Carol (J. Rutter)
A beautiful piece and so under-performed sadly. I love the harmonic line with its crunch chord and then the sustained jazz chord near the end of each verse makes me tingly! I don't see much in common with 'Pieds' from Warlock's Capriol suite which he borrowed from Arbeau's Orchesographie.
Oh my God, i think this song birthed first in paradise. Thank you, God, by John Rutter's life! Greetings from Brazil.

Beautiful carol. Too bad it’s so derivative of Peter Warlock’s Pieds-en-l’air from Capriol Suite.
