Hi Mike! What a surprise!!! Thank you for trying our food and featuring us in your awesome video!
Seeing you eating our Soto Tangkar Betawi and hearing how you love it were music to our soul! 😆
Really appreciate the video and please drop us a visit again when you are in town!
PS: We just created a RUclips channel so we can comment here. 😄
I feel like Mike only wears t-shirts that were given to him for free.
This should be top comment
Someone should give him an iron
I believe we are here for the food reviews not the clothing if I am not wrong. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
That’s how he affords to travel the world and bring us this show. Fueled by hot oil and free shirts.
He's asian. So yes.
These videos are the reason I go out of my way to try to get my friend to buy international ingredients (we live near an Asian market) so I can make international dishes (we're American). I love exploring food from all over the place but my favorites are in the realm of the Eastern side of Asia, and the Mediterranian (I probably spelled that wrong and I'm sorry but 26 years in and I still can't spell it right on the first try).
Mikey, I want to buy you an iron, please tell me the address I need to send it to, thanks.
Why do Americans not realize that it’s extremely rude to wear hats indoors (especially in restaurants)?
That thumbnail is the stuff of nightmares
Really thought you know about food, but hearing you say that about the Tsuta in Singapore, I think I can no longer rely on your opinions anymore.
This third place you went to is one of my favourite Japanese restaurant in Singapore! I’m a Singaporean watching you introduce food in Food courts… I feel like a tourist! 😂 lol welcome to Singapore!
I have learned to eat before or eat while Mikey is eating. Today watching this video, I was eating ribs, fries, mushrooms and broccoli. But then everything Mikey eats always looks better; he really enjoys his job....eating food!!
I’ve never seen another human being in life have such a pure joy and passion for food like Mikey Chen. An absolute deep love for cuisine. Nobody gets as happy when enjoying good meals like you sir! As well as the sheer amount of food you can intake in one sitting, and also, in one day. It is incredible. Much love!!
Cuz Mikey is a beast, keep pumpin that iron to creat yo appetite
I know, right? Reminds me of my husband! He can eat and eat, but works out so has like under 10% body fat. It’s so wonderful to watch someone with their passion!
Have you watch Mark Wiens? I don't think I have ever seen him not enjoy anything he has eaten.
Have you watched Mark Wiens?
Qq
Just found your channel and i love it! You describe it so well and love how you really show the food.
Hearing you say forget about it right after you took a bite of the whole cooked fish is the most New York thing I've heard you say in a while thank you for your videos I've been watching you for over 5 years and I love every single video you put out I wait to watch just to see another strictly dumpling or Mikey chin video love you
You didn’t have yakitori. You had kushiyaki or robatayaki. Yakitori is referred to as grilled chicken or poultry not just grilled skewers.
Correct. Yakitori is 焼き鳥 meaning grilled or broiled bird/chicken. Grilled skewers is 串焼き meaning well.. skewer grilled. :-)
MAN seeing someone enjoy the food so much makes me wanna go try some too!
Its is a show of acting....dude...
It looks so odd to see Japanese food featured in Singapore. But great to see that Singapore has great looking Japanese food. Thanks, Mikey! (and Christine)!
Very great dinning experience. But as again, hats at a dinning table are not welcome. Have you seen a cowboy eat food with his hat on? Check Blazing Saddles (Mel Brooks, I saw it when it first screened), I don't think they eat or drink with hats on, oh maybe at the camp fire/beans scene, you get my point, not a fine dinning scene. But, you are still one of my best guys to watch.
I always look forward to watching Mike and his day of eating. Love to see all the different foods. Always a great day watching these videos 🤗❤️😋
Awesome post , love to live vicariously through you. Thank you ,enjoy your time there .
I still don't understand why his other channel isn't called "Strictly Noodles" since he eats more noodles than dumplings
Actually your watching "Mike Chen"
I don't get why he needs more than one channel
Such a beautiful view!
Imma need somebody to endorse him for an iron
Omgsh, I was scrolling to see who else thought the same! Lol
Glad I wasn’t the only one!
It's really not that big of a deal
Mike, it’s a joy watching you experience new dishes and recipes. BTW, how do you manage your triglycerides, cholesterols, and sugars by eating all these delicious foods?
The way you pronounce Rica for that Indonesian noodle is "Ree-cha". Usually it's repeated as in Rica-rica. It's known as one of the spiciest dishes in Indonesia, so not surprised that it destroyed you lol.
So, he is expected to be an expert?
Go home. You're drunk.
@@ndb_1982 he's just giving Mikey some info on the dish he ate. who said anything about him having to be an expert on that dish? go home. you're drunk,
@@cindyrellaaaaa Yup. That's another thing I love about Mike; he doesn't act like he knows it all about food. He knows what he likes and admits when he doesn't know much about what he's eating.
@@ndb_1982 Have you take your pills today?
This N B guy is a troll. I've always seen him commenting negative stuff for a bunch of nonsensical reasons. Don't pay him any attention.
Recently Mikey tends to get this wrong: (To his credit, he used to get this right). The pork broth is "tonkotsu" (豚骨) meaning "pork bones"; "tonkatsu" (豚カツ) is breaded & fried pork.
Glad you tried Soto! My most favorite food vlogger is trying my most favorite food! FYI Soto Betawi is just one of many version of soto.
I simply enjoy you. I love your descriptions but I also love the appreciation for the cultural aspect of the food and locations. I love it!
Please try pulut hitam at the dessert stalls in the malls! It's a black glutinous rice pudding with palm sugar and coconut milk and it's one of my favorites 😊
Hey Mike... Everything looked enjoyable. Happy Monday here Mike... Freaking delightful. The high class restaurants.. But enjoy Singapore. They seem like the food is amazing & the seen.. ❤️🐞😋
Yum 😍😍 that truffle ramen looked great and the sushi with egg sauce!!
@13:56…. the Indonesian food republic…. It’s like gumbo 😍
Mike become more and more like Father like style clothing now with that hat everywhere even when fine dining. 🤣
Try Shisen Hanten at top of Hilton on Orchard Rd in Singapore. 2-mich star Japanese Szechuan with amazing Mapo tofu.
Was anyone else triggered by how Mikey just bites the end of the KitKat rather than breaking them apart and eating them individually? No? I am broken.
Lord have mercy, bruh 😔 that wrinkled shirt 🤣. Ridic
Mike Chen’s content definitely amazes you the more times you watch them. The world is such a huge place. There’s just so much to discover out there, including new food to taste test. Food just connects everyone together, no matter where you are in the world.
Great comment!
He’s in Singapore and he’s eating ramen. He’s not discovering anything
Love your videos but with you asking about the pronunciation of the Indonesian noodles it makes me want to bring up something you love and always pronounce incorrectly.
It is tonkOtsu ramen not tonkAtsu. Tonkatsu is fried pork cutlets. Tonkotsu is pork broth ramen.
Hi @Mike, nice vid! Next time you're in Singapore do try out Torasho Ramen & Charcoal Bar. Btw which hotel did you stay during this Singapore visit?
Tha last yakitori place looked great. You failed to mention that a dinner for one person runs about $160 plus drinks.! I’m in SIN next week but the hawker centres look better for the wallet..!
Everything’s always looking so good I can almost taste it…you lucky dog!
Yess mikey cross to sumatera to experience the food, or batam! you can do a trip in one day and go back to singapore
Hey Mike, Singaporean fan here. As the world knows, hawker food is the way of life in our country. Hope that you will do some videos on them instead of keep going to the restaurants.
He's done a lot of hawker food in SG. I've watched quite a few previously. I actually find this refreshing cos I also think our restaurant food is good too and many foreign vloggers do only the hawker stuff.
As the youtuber, Mr Fisk would say. Beeef!! Love your video!
The food look so delicious. I am salivating uncontrollably lol
How did we get Lego Hair...
pleaaaaaase try the godiva moon cakes, saw some at costco recently!
Never ever let that cut happen again. Your longer hair looks great
how the hell are you still jet lagged after 2 weeks man
hard to adjust since he treats his body terribly with the amount of sodium he consumes
I’m embarrassed, I’ve been watching Mike for over 3 years but I still don’t know the difference between strictly dumpling channel and the Mike Chen channel. Can anyone help me out?
Had tsuta before here in the phils back in 2017. The japanese owner chef even stayed for a few weeks to oversee the operations. I went there on the second week. I had tonkotsu ramen with truffle oil. Well... honestly speaking, nothing to scream about. Ramen was no better than other ramen chains, ippudo, nagi etc. Difference is tsuta is more expensive
No I am adding Singapore on my list of places to go I can't wait.
Watching mike chen when you're hungry is the best
Hey Mikey I have ordered some hot oil from you and I also order the Tokyo treat box also. Keep up with the great videos.
The fact the robatayaki is playing Illmatic. Chef's kiss.
We super love your vlogs! But please buy a handy steamer to iron your clothes. It's bothering us. LOL
MIKE! WHO BUTCHERED YOUR HAIR?!?!
A butcher.....hahahala.....same thought....
This channel has helped me feel like I've been able to travel the last couple of years. Can't wait to go abroad soon!
Hey Mike, we are the family who said hi to you at the top of the escalators in Suntec city. We really wanted to talk to you but you seemed busy
Wow.. everything looks so mouth watering.. I wish I could find such a restaurant here in Italy!😋
Are you kidding me?? Sure, I love Asian food and all but......when I visited Italy and started eating my way through the country I'd died and gone to heaven!!
@@becsterbrisbane6275 he or she means an Asian restaurant like that
@@becsterbrisbane6275 True.. but once in a while I'd love an authentic Japanese restaurant which is not always easy to find especially a Michelin-starred one!
❤❤
Aladdin's Castle...... now that is a Mall Arcade I haven't heard in a long time. Long Time, I either played Tekken, Terminator 2 or House of the Dead.
Looking at how Mike enjoy his food really help me to finish mine. Thank you for your amazing review as always.
I had to pause the video so I can make something to eat before watching this video. Beef Fried Rice with Kimchee.😋👍
You should travel to Indonesia for some time, not just jakarta, to explore the food's and all difference flavors Indonesia got to offer
As an Indonesian's, feel free to explore our country flavor heritage
I remember Aladdin’s Castle! THE coolest place to have ur birthday party 🥳
Mike can you talk to us about how you hear about good places to go get food. Other than your videos I have no idea
As early as 10 min after upload
Let me enjoy 😉 my fav RUclipsr while I eat my dinner
Mike!!! I can’t believe you mentioned Aladdin’s Castle!! It brought me back to my childhood. You are the best😊
My future husband and I used to go there and battle with Mortal Kombat and House of Dead all the time back in the early 2000’s.
Mike i know i keep repeating myself, but everytine you travel to rhe East, you change dramatically. You look so good, healthy and younger.
Please try ramen nagi in California!! It’s so good!!:)
I wish I could travel and eat one day with Mikey Chen. 👍❤❤😋😋🤩
Bro! looks soo good
Dude dropping Aladdin's Castle out of nowhere throwing my brain back in time.
Always love your content Mike! Thank you for the great videos! 💚
Love ur videos 😇 you make me try new things now I love hot pot and soup dumplings 😱😱😱
great now I'm hungry food looks amazing 🔥
They're opening a Tsuta in Brooklyn, NY very soon
Hi Mike,
If you like to try Philippines food in SG, can try Gerry’s Grill at Cuppage road Starhub centre, near Centrepoint Orchard Rd. Try it!
Dear god your hair.
I had to pause the video to comment. Aladdin's Castle was the number one reason to go to the mall back home followed by Chinese food from the original New Orient restaurant. Alas neither exist anymore as they were.
I love your content. I have came across you like over a year ago. I have been dealing with alot if medical issues and loosing my leg. I must really thank you for that 25 minutes you take me on a journey of you and knowledge. You are my all time favorite❤️❤️
Dream job! Looks delicious.
Here we go again Mikey making me jealous of the delicious food he is eating lol
Mee Ayam it self is sweet flav but Rica sauce more like savory flav
Did you tasting the sweetness of kecap manis in that mee ayam before??
I’m eating lunch right when you posted this video now I’m craving noodles 🍜 lol 😂
“I haven’t seen a paddle that long since college” was Mikey in a frat because the only time I see paddles like that are in frats
Mike, please come to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on your next trip!
Finally back in Singapore!
Mike is such a legend!
how do these boxes always find mikey if hes always traveling? or he filmed all these on the same city
Yau I love you and noodles! You are the dumpling and Noods king....always make me want to go go straight to my dim sum place... mouth watering!
Wow everything looks sooo gooood
Looks good Mike 😊👍
Ramen is udon?? Are u serious?! lol N how many time u been to Japan??
Mikey eating his veggies👏👏👏😉😂
That looks so good I want to go there now lol
Makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one who struggles with pronunciation 😅
You must try a lot of Indonesia food.
Mie Aceh, that food of course from Aceh province.
Bika Ambon from North Sumatera.
You already try beef rendang from West Sumatera.
Otak-otak from Riau Island.
Pempek from South Sumatera.
Kerak Telor from Jakarta.
Lunpia and Tempe Mendoan from Central Java.
Gudeg from Yogyakarta.
Rujak Cingur from East Java.
Ayam Betutu from Bali.
Ayam Taliwang from Nusa Tenggara Barat.
Sop Konro from South Sulawesi.
And many more foods that can't be mentioned one by one.
Woku from North Sulawesi
Amazing content good Sir!
Nice way to start off my lunch !!! Watching you eat yummy food !
Mike… always wearing a shirt that looks like it was dug from the bottom of the hamper 😂.. mad love though❤
Looks so good luckey you dude
