    still learning... another octatrack jam for january or something... some old-school-inspired rolling intelligent dnb. octatrack is being used alongside the novation circuit rhythm and waldorf micro Q rack synth. i created the pads with my nord modular g2 and sampled them into the yamaha a4k... then brought them over to the OT. everything is mixed on the oto bébé chérie. this is a direct recording of the oto's master output; no additional processing.
    one of my goals with the ocatrack is to perform live atmospheric dnb/jungle sets with it, and there's no better way to reach that than to just keep learning it and making sounds!
    download the octatrack project here (there a wavs in the zip, so if you don't have an ocatrack you can still use the samples!):

      hey there! thanks for checking it out :) i'm a big fan of the BC, it was exactly what i was looking for. Some people don't like the mini jacks or the lack of a proper send/return... but i wasn't worried about either of those. I really love the OTO analog sound, and the BC has it's own. The bliss knob is literally bliss. I rate it big time

    i think if i was to do live sets for dnb with the octatrack I would use two at once. (the atmospheres in this are lovely btw)

    • @arcologies
      @arcologies  7 месяцев назад +1

      that would be an awesome setup, and certainly one that would be the easiest to manage with a nice flow. thanks a lot of checking out the track :)

      @0e0 7 месяцев назад +2

      as someone who played a lot of improvised live dnb (which i did with my custom reaktor patches) in many different types of venues...track to track flow is crucial and something that should be practiced regularly. Special consideration towards fluidity with no fixed setlist is a great challenge for that because that leaves a lot of room for happenstance and reading the crowd etc.
      I would give it equal importance to that as making stems/tracks to play out.@@arcologies

    Nice. I had a waldorf micro Q when they came out! I probably shouldnt have sold it but thats life. What is the micro Q doing in this?

    • @arcologies
      @arcologies  7 месяцев назад +2

      hey there! the microQ is being sequenced live for a higher atmosphere pad/string sound that starts at :46 and then pops in a few times throughout the track. i also sampled another sound from it to layer with a nord modular g2 pad sample on the octatrack. i mainly wanted to pick up a microQ because the same devs behind the osirus vst released a microQ vst (called vavra). so i can craft sounds on the vst and send them to hardware.
      vavra... to my ears... sounds exactly the same as the hardware :) so if you're looking for that microQ sound... vavra is free!

    what's your thought on the octatrck?

    • @arcologies
      @arcologies  7 месяцев назад +1

      hey there! i'm already a big fan of it and don't really have anything negative to say about it (yet lol)...
      it's extremely fun to use and offers exactly what i was looking for: creative sampling, tracker-like workflow/parameter locks, song mode, endless live performance capabilities, can be a live performance mixer for a live set... or you can just DJ with it... and it has a rock solid midi clock with support for 8 midi tracks. what kind of setup/studio do you have?

  • @mrferrera4444

    If you had to keep either the octatrack or the polyend tracker which would you keep?

    • @arcologies
      @arcologies  5 месяцев назад +1

      Wooo that’s a tough choice… but I’d say the polyend tracker, and that’s only because I just love trackers for music. However, if I mainly did live performances or jams, I would choose the OT no question about it. OT has a very tracker-like workflow and I’ve been using it way more than the PT since I got it.
