Yep, my hybrid dropped out of reverse, stalled, and then went back into reverse, stopping the car between my gate posts. Dash lit up like a Christmas tree and trapped me in the car. All because the 12v battery was low, gave it a minute with the ignition on and the dc-dc converter running and it started again fine and no issues till the 12v battery got replaced a few months later. If I were to guess as I turned the steering wheel the electric steering caused the voltage to drop too low for the computers to work properly. On any ICE car it just wouldn't have started.

I don't recall if the Weego uses liquid cooling for the battery pack, but even if it does, usually air cooling is part of the overall cooling scheme. Second, where dirt gets in, water gets in, and dirty water or mud is conductive and corrosive. You can disconnect the battery and use compressed air, then a special high voltage cleaner that is non conductive (you can get it on Amazon). The amount of dirt in there makes me suspect that there might be deliberate airflow over the batteries for cooling, and if that's the case then you might want to re engineer how that works to avoid dirt and water. More RUclips material, you have hit on a winning formula! The Weego is a fountain that will never run dry! Also, put some dielectric coating on any exposed electrical connections. I have a 2019 Honda Insight EX and some of the wierd issues that some owners have had I believe are from the 12V glass mat batteries that Honda installed on them being weak or bad. I've seen in the forums where the battery was replaced and all the issues disappeared.. Also to follow up on that - I used to own a 2008 Civic Hybrid that also had issues when the 12V battery was on it's way out.. That car, unlike the Insight had a conventional starter on it that would engage when the hybrid battery was too low (didn't happen often - but it did happen)..

Aaaaaand I need a new pair of pants.
Hurrah for easy fixes!
You should get around to replacing those milky front turn signal covers sometime. They really bring down the whole look of the vehicle.
... Well, aside from the Wheego logo on it.
Hey its littlepip! And yea you're right.
Now that’s what I call a great channel unlike many others when you mention they did something wrong they start calling you assholes, dipshit etc keep it up buddy
In case you were wondering, and I know you were, you are my favorite RUclipsr (and it's not even close.)
I really could do without your projects, they simply aren't cars that would ever own or want to own, but I watch solely because you are awesome.
So keep up the great work!
On the cars that I don't really like...
But that's ok, if it has to be 😀
man you are lucky with the hookup dude you have. I mean sure he didn't help here but in general, it's cool to have support like that
You're awesome.
Your videos are awesome.
I'm so happy you're back.
Hope you are well :)
The more I watch you keeping the wheego alive, the more it's endearing to me. Please don't ever sell it.
I absolutely love this channel, please keep the videos coming.
electronics get weird when they don't get the voltage they expect to...especially when that voltage is low. glad you got sorted out!
Yay! I have a weird love for this weird thing. So happy it's back!
the fact that you like this more than the Saab is actually the reason my entire life is collapsing
Love the driveby with the horn blaring haha. It sounded like the Wheego was saying "wheeeeeee!"
5:33
Best transition ever!
Holy hell, that Wheego flyby at 5:32 had me in absolute stitches.
Same thing happened with my Camry Hybrid. It seems that a worn out battery (mine was 12 years old) doesn't provide enough volts to run sensors and computers properly. As soon as I saw you fixed you fixed it for $90 I knew what it was.
If you ever need to borrow diagnostic computer or anything off a wheego life/ Noble for troubleshooting in the future let me know. Glad to see this fixed so quick.
Bill from Wheego Tech Support is your saviour
Good news! I'm glad the big pile of garbage is fixed! But at 1:10, why is your toilet paper connected to the car's battery pack?
That's the "motor"
For the same reason his exhaust/muffler goes between the two batteries; he's not an artist ;)
"Hullo, IT, Have you tried turning it off and on again?"
Love your presenting style. I do watch from behind my hands though as I totally expect you to be thrown across the room in a Huge Blue Spark at any point!
Dang, I'm not sure I've ever seen Robert quite that happy!
Epic content as always, I for one hope you keep making it,
I have a 2019 Honda Insight EX and some of the wierd issues that some owners have had I believe are from the 12V glass mat batteries that Honda installed on them being weak or bad.
I've seen bad 12v batteries cause ALL SORTS of crazy strange problems. Glad it was an easy fix :) I had a riding mower the other day (2011 cub cadet) that apparently was designed to keep its lights on anytime the key is on, vs having them on a switch. well, the wire melted up against the engine and fried the whole damn wiring harness. It's been a bundle of fun, let me tell you! The fuse refused to fuse, i reckon.
I'm sorry to say, but I think my favorite part was when you got shocked at 3:30. Not because the rest wasn't great as usual, but because as soon as you said "two layers of gloves" I started to smile know this must happen. 🤣
Yep.. 12V batteries can cause all matter of weird stuff. This will happen in a Prius also.. all sorts of weird electrical Gremlins..
Glad you got it fixed..
"the whole car is rubbish and it's everyone's fault" :)
not the whole car the battery box is well built so one person cared when building it
In my limited experience, epilepsy makes you neither slow, nor creepy ;-) Great video!
I think you should have a go at doing a complete strip down and modding all the problems out.
You could get a decent battery compartment and fill it with up to date technology.
Find a way of fixing the doors and sort it all out including a rear wiper washer.
*So now that you bought various cars, and even a bus. I think it's time for the next stage in a vehicle purchase... I think it's time to buy a tank.*
That's boring, buy a battleship
My car(regular gas car) had issues with the power window sensors tripping, and other odd electrical issues. I replaced the battery, it was old but still had no issues starting in the winter, and everything was magically fixed. Can only imagine a full electric car.
Holy Moly! Was that an actual burn out at 4:55?! Yikes. Glad to see you're staying with the ongoing Wheego saga. It's especially exciting to anticipate the next major problem. I'm not sure what 'bated breath' is exactly but I sure am waiting with it...
I had almost same issues with my Chevy volt last week. Replacing the 12 volt fixed it all.
I have had the pleasure of troubleshooting hundreds of micro processor controlled systems, most of the “strange “ problems could always be fixed by powering down then reapplying power. This works because it will get rid of transient voltages and force a complete reboot of the system software.
Best entertainment ever on RUclips
America: "That's what you get for buying Chinese crap!"
Also America: GM existing
That a funny way of saying Chrysler
@@camillosteuss The 300C (including the new ones and the current Challenger) was actually built on the same platform as the 1996 E-Class. Technically Chrysler is still selling that 25 year old taxi but worse. Though to be fair, some of the flagship Chryslers use a ZF gearbox which makes a big difference.
I'm A aircraft mechanic and we do this all the time. It is usually the first step in the trouble shooting manual.
