Fire Emblem Awaking on the 3DS was my fist intro to the series as well. Love it very much as I was a fan of Final Fantasy Tactics on the GBA. Sadly I was too naive back then to truly appreciate Awaking's game play, stories and features it had to offer. Once I finish the game, I did not know I could back and replay. Now that I am wiser (older) I picked up Engage, as it seem a perfect fit to reintroduce anyone to Fire Emblem's History for not keeping up or have very little knowledge of the franchise . Only through Smash fighting games I learned about the other characters. Even though Engage story is shallow and your home base is a chore (ring polish), the colours and art of the world, freedom of customisation and music really makes this game one of the best for me. Three houses, though great for others, was too "emo" for me and battles looks muddy and bland graphics wise.

Yeah, playing Engage sometimes feels like a chore. They should add more ways to speed up Sommiel's chores like having your units helping you collect them or something. Running around the Sommiel early game is fun, but after a while, it's getting more boring and more like a chore than something fun to do.
