As sharp as Steve was in picking up almost immediately that the whole billboard rescue was a con, Lacey might have been even more impressive in seeing, at this early stage, that there's something deeper behind Charles' determination to uncover his brother's lies.
true. I watch a lot of these reactions to Better Call Saul, and this channel's the first one I've heard mention there's something deeper with Chuck's relationship with Jimmy
500 split two ways = 250 person. Minus costs going into the scam cost of replica watch, drinking money to sit in a bar and rope in the right mark. Could be less than 200 a person when all said and done. Also risk of losing all the cash in the bait wallet if they pick the wrong mark and he doesnt realize what a rolex is worth and decides to just take off running with the cash. Not a bad score for a couple hours of work but like he said its just good for drinking money.
@@one_eyed_pete2462 since it's been implied in the show that jimmy is very good at it, i would assume that he isn't just picking out random targets. he is great at profiling a person. he is successful with the i buy, you sell trick with the coin considering he hasn't done it for a long time so i guess is success rate is higher in his slippin jimmy days.
Glad to see the recent crop of reactor to BCS are enjoying it from the start. I'll never understand how some people say that the first season is boring, there's so much packed into each episode.
i mean 580 for just one swindle is pretty high compared to others. assuming that jimmy just needs few minutes to befriend the victim. they go out in the alley, find the wallet and rest of the acting. I'd say they've done it in less than an hour without breaking a sweat and gain 580.
Paused at 5:04.. did you just say "That's alot of work for $580.00"? Two people working for $10.00/hr each work 29 hours apiece to make that much.. and they do not even get to keep it all thanks to good ole Uncle Sam. Sorry.. just had to comment that b/c that was my honest reaction when I heard ya say that. No hate but from my perspective that was less work than 29 hours.
@@CraigKostelecky True.. but even then, $180 ($90 per participant) would be 9 hours of work each. I honestly have no clue how much they paid for them (if they paid.. never know lol) Finished the episode tho and was entertained either way. Can't wait till they get farther into the series and crap starts snowballing lol. SO many surprised ahead for them and I do not want to spoil it for them so I'll stop here ;)
Glad you're liking this right away. For some reason, it took me a while to get into this show. Knowing what I know now, I appreciate the earlier episodes.
The flashback at the beginning is very similar to the first scene of the movie "The Sting". It's a great movie with Robert Redford and Paul Newman. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out. It could be good to react to too.

500 doesnt sound like much, but it's actually about the same as a minimum wage biweekly check. And he made it in less than an hour
I know right! When they said ‘oh that’s not that much’, I was thinking are you kidding? I’d feel like a millionaire if I made that in an hour 😂

"Take a ride with me" - Gus to Walter - Skyler to Walter - but timewise, Howard to Kim happened first.
Awesome show, thanks for reacting to this! You two are the best!

You’ll see why Chuck was so dedicated to finding the truth about Jimmy soon enough.
"Let's... Steve and Lacy " billboard.
My fingers are still crossed for s.o.a , Ozark and the Wire, all time great shows
I love that Steve was the one to make the “Beaches” reference.
How can you skip the BCS intro??? Is literally like 12 seconds long, catchy, and each episode's intro is visually different
