I mean the jealousy is the deepest part of it yea? Like chuck uses excuses like Slippin Jimmy and "you're not a real lawyer" but at the deepest level its jealousy.
@@ButtSmash Yes. It is jealousy, for sure. Chuck says so, too...in a sense. He tells Jimmy that Jimmy took the easy way, and that he (Chuck) worked his ass off. Well, Jimmy did too. For Jimmy, what he accomplished, *IS* working his ass off. Chuck believes that only taking the traditional road to becoming a lawyer is the highest of accomplishments, but Jimmy did it his way, and still is as good a lawyer as Chuck is, he just does it differently. Chuck has a massive ego, he views jimmy as less than him and he understands that jimmy is a people person and despite not having the same skill set as chuck, jimmys skillset allows him to do the same and that pisses chuck off beyond anything.
Right. Chuck has massive insecurities with Jimmy. like the fact everyone loves Jimmy but no one loves Chuck. These insecurities with Jimmy becoming a lawyer is what lead to his mental illness and divorce. He loves his brother and can't live without him, but his insecurities drives him apart from him.
There is a line that you can barely hear from Howard's reading of Chuck's eulogy where Howard said Chuck graduated highschool when was 14. That mean's Chuck was accelerated past his peers. That would explain his elitist attitude and his poor social skills. Everyone around him was older than him. Probably for the majority of his developmental years. It's doubtful that they'd interact with the kid. No matter how smart he was. So he's probably stunted socially and emotionally from all of that. Along with living up to everyone's expectations of him. I could see him being angered by Jimmy's easy charisma and him being able to live down as much as he wants, because no one really expects anything from him.
It's crazy to think Howard probably told Kim the truth so she could make Jimmy accept the deal, because it's good money he would lose for no good reason.
That's a really great observation. It would obviously be a MASSIVE win for HHM to be handled a slam-dunk multi-state RICO case, so Howard obviously has plenty of interest in gaining access to it, but I agree that he told Kim instead of trying to go to Jimmy directly because he recognized that Kim would be able to convince Jimmy that giving it to HHM was still a huge victory for Jimmy himself.
What an amazing show. Can't wait for you guys to continue with it. It ends up being just as good, if not better than Breaking Bad, which is the highest praise I can give for any show.
You'll see Trevor again in Better Call Saul but not in the context of interacting with Mike or the nerdy drug criminal. Unfortunately, it's not a larger role, it's another bit part but it's cool that he comes back again on some level.
The amazing thing about Chuck v. Jimmy is how as the audience we know that Chuck ends up being right. Jimmy does ''slip'' and becomes Saul. However, was that a self-fulfilling prophecy? Maybe all Jimmy needed was Chuck in his corner to prevent him to ''slip''? This is where the brilliance of this nuance comes in. We'll never know.
I really don't believe Chuck could ever really "save" his brother. Jimmy keeps doing more or less illegal stuff since episode 1 (staging the car accident, which has important consequences). Jimmy could keep working as a public defender, but he wasn't satisfied with that (understandable, although it is a legitimate job). Jimmy could keep working for Davis & Main, but he decided to sabotage it instead, since he found out that the job isn't compatible with his personality. Even if Chuck did trust Jimmy and employ him at HHM, it's really hard to imagine it would go totally differently than at Davis & Main.

Mike doesn't have his ego here however in breaking bad his ego got him killed her personally disliked walt so he constantly insulted him and wound up getting shot by the guy he looked down on the ever professional mike whos always meticulous and does all this foot work got shot with his own gun because he didn't think walt had it in him "just because you shot jesse James, don't make you jesse james" ~ mike
I see you guys getting more mature content to react to why don't you try reacting to Peaky Blinders on Netflix you guys will love it and the last season is about to come out soon.
The thing is tho Chuck was right. As later shown Jimmy is extremely bored with a straight life, he is a grifter through and through. But it still hurts seeing these two have a go at each other 😢
pls react to OZARK you guys will love that show !!!

This is only the beginning. From here on, we start to hate Chuck only more
No spoilers, but one of you predicted a major character death as a joke without realizing it lol
Can calvin not just spoil it for the entire crew. Like I get he can theorise but it kinda ruins the reveal if someone just blurts it out
It was kind of obvious
They all knew lol
He pays attention. Shows like this reward that.
This was pretty easy to see coming, when it comes to 'reveals'.
what an asinine thing to get mad about lol
