    Actually, to me the one with the blue background is more appealing. I like it way more than the other one. It's just different and special. It has more tention and intersts me more. To me a painting does not have to be "correct" regarding value, shadows and all that stuff.
    It's the effect it has on me that counts. Thanks for the video, anyway! Well done!

      I see what you mean, the more I look at it in comparison to the other one, I warm up to it more every time. I completely agree though, the effect is what counts. Thanks for the wonderful comment :)

    Good theme for a video. In my opinion the 2 options falls in the same category (no previous drawing), hence the fact that you did not actuality draw the face with pencil, or charcoal prior the paint application on canvas.

      Definitely, I see what you mean! I'll be doing a pencil sketch comparison another time. The way my mind approached that second one was to prepare me for what to paint on top in terms of restrictions, like the scale to fit it well, without focusing on feature sketching, which I guess I should've done, in retrospect.
