ZF 8HP... do it, do it. edit: I just saw Zero to 60 RUclips. They recently posted a Lamik synched to a Haltech. Apparently the Lamik sends a "torque reduction" request to the ECU via CAN during shifts. They are also using a virtual clutch. Very cool. It's on a drift car, so no discussion on the Haltech traction control setup, which we'd need on a street car.

@@youngd3799 Yes, Lamik seems to more refined (supported?) than the HTG. Not sure why. Don't know of anyone with a USDM MKiV ZF8HP conversion yet, so Ryan... DO IT! I'm extremely curious how the Lamik plays nice with another ECU when adjusting timing between shifts and with trac control protocol.
I was gonna go cd009 in my IS300, but I'm leaning more towards this option every day 👀

Damn the A650E don't even move that slow in the IS I'm surprised thought both trans were the same aside from being a 5 speed. Yeah I'm totally going 8HP when I build my IS its gonna be roughly the same price or so maybe a bit more depending on where you source the trans but it just makes more sense to get a better trans.

Sounds awesome! That delay on the upshifts is upsetting though, especially if you wanted to get under power.

Hey I would like to see the blueprint for the paddle shifting and it could be done with the AEM V2 computer to.
I’ve not seen anyone in the (US) do the Whiz 8spd auto or 7spd DCT conversion yet!
HPR and some other Polish companies offer housings/flexplates/crossmembers, etc. to bolt on a ZF8HP to the 2JZ. I'm excited at the options becoming available. The conversion still needs a BMW or Chrysler shifter, harnesses, mechatronics modifications and some other magic dust. I think the Haltech could control it, but I don't think they've created the software.... yet.
@@FirstNameLastName-bl1rt Whifbitz offers conversion kits where they’ve used Syvecs ECUs to control the Engine and Turbolamik TCU to control the ZF transmissions.
@@755hp Yes. Syvecs not very popular in USDM. But no reason Turbolamik couldn't work with MaxxECU, EMUBlack, ProEFI, etc. I'd be interested in if/how it would work with the OEM ECU.

The wheel is huge. FRS wheel is the smallest toyota wheel.
