Clearly, things aren't going how Minnesota planned with his development and I would assume his stock is not super high with the Wild. Meanwhile they are still in a playoff hunt of their own and probably feel the pressure to win now. You’ve got to try Raimo on line 2 Try this because players who are listed as a certain lined player grow when they play on that line. ? - Cooley - Vesce Guenther - Sivan - Raimo Laine - Doan - Noronen 4 line is your choice The question mark can be filled by someone in the system that works chemistry wise on the first line. Think how the Hawks did it with Toews centering Hossa and Saad with Saad being the question mark in this scenario. Line two both Sivan and Raimo are listed as second line forwards so they’ll likely grow playing there. Plus, it’s a playmaker- sniper - two-way forward/grinder combo since Guenther passes and hits more than shoots. Then on the third line you have Doan who’s on his way out but is still effective centering a passer and a shooter(keep Laine, he should retire with the team he finally broke out with).

I think you should keep Gregor (this is written before the draft and FA), the same length as Laine, Chychurn, Werenski. He helped a lot. With Swayman, i’d try and trade him away but that only if he has a down year between the big 3 (Laine, Chychurn, Werenski). Depends how well Hynes plays and grows, he should be in the A or immediately in the backup role in the N and trade away the current backup goalie. Thats if Hynes develops well
Laine can not go until you find another bona fide proven 40 goal scorer. He is like the best simulating player in the game and won't be easily replaced.
Look to sign a better Assistant HC in the AHL to better develop the defenseman there. Maybe someone who is a Defense specialist and has at least a B in teaching.
