When I fish from the dock at Wetherill Park, I always bait my hooks with one inch thick cuts of menhaden. If I'm going for really big stripers and blues, I'll use the head too.
Great video! Man I should have been chunken! I've lost a small fortune sacrificing lures to the blues. After a hookup the school would attack the leader, swivel or even a knot if I tied leader to braid. They're nasty. I love the trashman vedeo! Instead of IDing fresh bunka by blood your supposed to taste test with your tongue tip!
I feel your pain man... blues trash a lot of my gear every season including chunkin rigs. haha you are right I will have to do the taste test next time
Love the chunking vids bro, you absolutely killed it that day I've never had a day like that in my life, I fish Maryland Atlantic Coast, Chesapeake Bay ocean city Maryland, can I ask you what setup you had there what size Rod what kind of reel Etc. Thx in advance. Ken
Itching for the 22 season, I kept having trash luck with the circle hooks last year. Everytime I try to set the hook, lostem. I have to keep remembering that you can’t set the hooks with these, light an steady :(
thanks man, biggest striper I've landed from shore was a 41 pounder from last season on the chunk. Biggest lure striper I'd say maybe 25 pounds, I catch a lot more bigger fish chunkin
When you cast your weight and bait out there, do you keep the line tight when you're waiting for a fish to pick of the bait or do you leave some slack?
garbage man is my idol haha. I'll snag pogey if I can find them but I usually buy it. Most bait shops should have it, Sam's bait in middletown is my go to spot
Hey man - loved this video. Have a question concerning shears. I’m on fixed income and was wondering how long the shears last. Without spending vanstal money can you offer me some options. Thanks! See you on the shore sometime. I typically do CT with some trips into RI. BREY
Great video! That was an awesome Bass! Waiting for the day to get one of those myself. Been fishing down at the Coast Guard lighthouse in Narr. Does the local tackle shops carry bunker?
I love the refferance in the intro, man i have watched that dam video so many times
haha me too dude, the garbage man is forever a legend
That intro 😂 20 hour soaks , you ain't got to worry bout no tide
haha 20 hour soak would be savage
@@Fish-RI Your intro plagiarizes Bob the Garbage Man, and you know it.
@@jimhall4045 ; and apparently he has no shame lifting another performers material.
Bob the garbage man I got my rod from a polish guy named Irish Greg 😂😂😂legend
I know exactly where you got some of these funny quotes from💀 that video is hilarious. Good stuff man!
Awesome job gettin on them stripers, especially that last one, but they all looked like they were eatin very well...🤙🏼🤙🏼
My biggest came on a chunk and that's what got me into surf fishing!
same here man its a great way to target big bass
When I fish from the dock at Wetherill Park, I always bait my hooks with one inch thick cuts of menhaden. If I'm going for really big stripers and blues, I'll use the head too.
any luck with chunked mackeral? I always fish that dock on the weekends. would appreciate any tips or tricks.
@@namster08 I've used mackerel with success too. But generally, I stick with menhaden. And if I feel like black sea bass, I'll use squid strips.
Those shots are wonderful!
Love the intro, next time need to be at Atlantic City!
You inspired me to
Go fishing this weekend! Hope I catch a striper at Bay Area delta
Hilarious intro, represents Rhode Island pretty well
haha it was a rip off of bob the garbageman

Definitely the head of the bunker!!!!!!! How could anyone say no to this?
Had mixed luck but my buddy got a good one with the head last week so I'm a believer again
I was always told the head was for a big striper too untill i hooked a 15lb blue with it. What a battle.
Nice fish, I’m in barrington and these big ones have been picky... I’ll probably try chunking now
Great video...didn't even need the edit at 5:18
quoting Bob! good man.🤣
Love the chunking vids bro, you absolutely killed it that day I've never had a day like that in my life, I fish Maryland Atlantic Coast, Chesapeake Bay ocean city Maryland, can I ask you what setup you had there what size Rod what kind of reel Etc.

Ken
Thanks man! I usually use a 10 foot medium heavy rod with a 4500-6000 reel for chunking
No bullshit I just caught my first over spot fish using chunked Mac, surf fishing off my local beach. Been looking all summer for him
Love d the video brother I’m in Pawtucket and just got into kayaking fishing and hope to get to Jamestown next week.
keep it going!!
thanks man good luck out there
being from Ri i love these vids, keep it up 👊
thanks bud
Do mackerel and clam work just the same or should I use bunker?
Beautiful fish.! :)
Beautiful thang Johnny
Love your videos dude, i live in Cranston, just really starting to get into the saltwater scene!
thanks man good luck out there

Dude I been going fishing to ri,never see you there.
Where in ri do you 🎣…?
Great video keep up the grind brother ! 💪🏽
There we go finally the big stripers ! Loved the intro haha. What's the biggest striper you've caught while chunking vs using lures ?
thanks man, biggest striper I've landed from shore was a 41 pounder from last season on the chunk. Biggest lure striper I'd say maybe 25 pounds, I catch a lot more bigger fish chunkin
The intro is from Bob the garbage man
This was stupid great, great job, PEACE.
Huge fan of your videos. I am new to fishing RI waters and wondering if you have any suggestions to finding large fish.
I would say chunk pogey and go around sunset/nighttime thats usually when I get my bigger fish
🤣🤣🤣 this guy is a high level mook.
I have a 5/0 circle hooks, would that work?
Just found your channel... I am now a sub...😀...have you ever made a video on how to fish with circle hooks?...
welcome bud, I have not but I might make one on how to tie up chunking rigs/how to use circle hooks. A lot better than using J hooks in my opinion
When you cast your weight and bait out there, do you keep the line tight when you're waiting for a fish to pick of the bait or do you leave some slack?
Leave some slack so you can see every little movement.
Great vid, thanks. Is the Fall Run past you in RI yet?
thanks its starting to wrap up here I think within the next couple weeks sadly
Solid impression of "The Garbage Man". HaHaHa. I'm in the East Bay can never find fresh bunker. Are you snagging them? If not, where can I find some?
garbage man is my idol haha. I'll snag pogey if I can find them but I usually buy it. Most bait shops should have it, Sam's bait in middletown is my go to spot
Bro your vids are hilarious
haha thanks man
I gotta try this on the west coast of California.
chunkin is a great way to catch target big fish
Very good
How long do you make your leaders
do you need fresh bait and does it work anywhere?
Hey man - loved this video. Have a question concerning shears. I’m on fixed income and was wondering how long the shears last. Without spending vanstal money can you offer me some options. Thanks! See you on the shore sometime. I typically do CT with some trips into RI.
BREY
Shears last 2.5 years. If you are unable to afford a new pair the federal government has a program to assist fishermen who are on a fixed income.
Any advise for surf fishing during the fall? Haven’t had any success
just keep grinding. the more you go the more you learn
Great video! That was an awesome Bass! Waiting for the day to get one of those myself. Been fishing down at the Coast Guard lighthouse in Narr. Does the local tackle shops carry bunker?
thanks bud, yea all bait shops should have bunker. Sam's bait in Middletown is my go to
Quaker Lane bait & tackle
“If you wanna catch those big horny cows you gotta throw out chunks” couldn’t have been said better. Clams all day
So have you ever tried anise on chunks? :D
haha the chunk is just a vessel for the anise
Great video..that was a cow!!
thanks bud
Nice video, what rod are you using for chunking
He’s using a fishing rod. Other than that what does it matter.
Chunks or Live Line. ONLY way to slay the beasts consistently
100% agree, some lure guys refuse to use it they are missing out
@@BobAquatic haha no better feeling than being out on a soak chunkin like a king
where you fish in IR
Where was that?
did you use a sinker
yea 3 oz on a slide
The Garbage man 🙏
hes a legend
Apparently im some kind of idiot becauss ive been sleeping on them bunker chunks
gotta throw out that bunkah!!
Using an offset circle hook defeats the purpose of a circle hook.
#kayakandsurffishing
👍👍
Hahaha
come on now there's only one garbage man
very true he is a legend
Wouldn't rip on plug throwers if you're down to chunking to post your gloryhound fish vids there sport.
you missed the joke bud, I throw out plenty of plugs too
YO I HEARD THIS GUY WEARS WOMENS UNDERWEAR
its true
